  • In this video, I go hands-on to review the new Longines Conquest 38mm everyday watch. Listening to enthusiasts, Longines has followed up last year's successful release of the Conquest 2023 in 41mm with a new case diameter and lug-to-lug measurement that will better suit the masses. Is there a better everyday watch for around $2,000?

Have yet to pull the trigger on a first, everyday type watch but the Conquest 2023 38mm is by far the biggest standout in my eyes. So happy they added this size. May need to spoil myself with this at some point. 👀

I am pretty sure I was one of the people commenting about the need for a 38mm variant. I tried the blue 41 on and while it fit my 7 inch wrist fine, I'd really prefer a bit smaller. It's good to see Longines finally came through. The champagne dial doesn't do much for me, but I like literally every other color available. This really is a good value in that dressy sport watch area. It's 1/3 the cost of the Aqua Terra, and certainly much more than 1/3 of that watch. The Aqua Terra is an excellent watch (my father has the 38mm variant), but the lack of micro adjust can be levied against that as well. Would it be nice if the lume was a bit better? Sure, but at least there is lume. This isn't the kind of watch where you're always depending on it after hours in the dark. Kudos to Longines for another release proving the brand is moving up in the watch world. Thanks for doing a video on this one, as I hadn't even heard about this release.

I've been wearing watches for awhile but recently been looking at Hamiltons and Longines. It's kinda funny, when I've been wearing Seiko and Citizen for decades, I always found 40mm or 39mm watches which fits me perfectly. Now as I look at mid tier and above, I can never find the perfect size for me lol. Its always 38 or 41!
That's ok though, I'll just have to try a 38, at least with Longines (since their lugs are SO long).
Thank you for displaying the Silver dial. Didn't see it anywhere else on YT. I think it looks great. Also, hoping the ligher color looks bigger for my tastes.
Though its a shame I can't get the Green or Blue in a 39mm! If only lol

Longines on a roll. I have the Hydro 39mm ceramic and black sector dial. The 38 champagne could be next

I have have the HydroConquest 39mm ceramic as well. Maybe we're one of the few who like the large Arabic numerals.

@@randkjournal I believe the large 12-6-9 give the Hydro design distinctiveness in a sea of Submariner copycats. Looks especially good in 39mm version

Love this release, I would get the green dial. My only gripe is the lug width, why 19mm? I like to swap straps frequently and all of my other watches (all 38 or 39 mm), have 20mm lug width so I have probably 30 straps in that size, and zero 19mm.

The small size train keeps rolling and is picking up steam! I got on board a year or two ago. I have two Longines dress watches with aviation watch elements incorporated into them that I love. Both are 38mm and are starting to seem big! I kinda wish I could shave 1mm off of one of them and 2mm off the other. Oh well. I love your videos Teddy!

Longines is killing it. Conquest, Spirit Zulu GMT, Record chrono and a Master Moonphase is a great bases-covered collection within the brand.

It is great value when one considers the long term history of the brand. The lack of an on the fly adjustment on the bracelet (as executed so brilliantly with the IWC PILOT XX but at twice the price) might be a deal breaker for me....but I will certainly be visiting my local dealer to see and feel the watch on my wrist - that's the moment.

Teddy says one problem, my mind goes immediately to the fact that they all don’t have matching date wheels, then teddy goes into size. Lol

Ask and you shall receive... Green is the standout in my opinion. I do wish it had a normal clasp with on the fly adjustment though. Overall, these are fantastic watches.

I knew Longines was going to release it in 38mm. Can’t wait to pick one up for myself if I continue to work as a Longines AD, if I get accepted to that new fancy job, maybe I won’t and just pay off my seiko first haha.

Does anyone know if the 38mm bracelet will fit on the 36mm Longines LD? As that is also 19mm

I would love to see the return of the VHP movement. I have a Conquest VHP and it is one of my favorite daily drivers and travel watches. Super accurate and perpetual calendar is nice plus jumping hours for travel. The new dial design just doesn't do it for me though. Maybe I miss the numerals.
