Agree, I even prefer it over the recent models of the aqua terra. Ofc the aqua terra’s movement is better but its bracelet is again just a copy of Rolex, which is not really desirable.
I can tell you this...Longines is yielding hit after hit after hit for the past 4 years. No longer wear my OP, Sub or AT. This Conquest does not leave my wrist.
Im wearing the 41 mm longines conquest in olive green . It’s my favorite watch that I own . If the name on it was Omega , they could charge twice as much . I was headed for an aqua terra … until I saw this longines in person. No regrets .
This is just perfect man, i prayed they would release it in 38mm. Now they just need to release a smaller Conquest Chronograph and remove the 12,9,6 numbers from the Hydroconquest and their catalogue would be top notch. It's really hard to look at another brand at this pricepoint, they are doing an amazing job listening to the public.
@@K.J.H_ i feel like it also wears a bit large due to the lug to lug, maybe if they make it 38mm it would be a hit. There really aren't that many options for mid size divers out there. The Certina DS Action 38mm is one i can think of but nothing really comes close to that fit
Currently wearing my Christopher Ward C65 Trident Mechanical. Love it I don’t know if I would compare it to the datejust. It is an absolutely beautiful watch. Unique on its own. I do think it’s a better every day wear than the datejust considering you don’t take it climbing or hiking. Longines is knocking it out of the park lately. Very excited for what they are producing
Nice video as always. I wear Longines Hydroconquest 41 in blue (ceramic bezel version) and after 2 years of wearing this watch I have no scratch on sapphire glass or AR coating. On the new 38mm Conquests, my favorite dial is the white/silver.
Love these longines, love the colour options, especially the green and the blue. Not everyone wants a rolex alternative I bought my aqua terra small seconds, blue indices because I love how it looks and vintage inspired appearance People who have rolex want people who haven't got one to want one, makes them feel special If I won a free watch of any brand to the value of say, £20.000 It wouldn't be a rolex.
Is it just me or does the black in certain light 1:59 seem to have a brownish/bronzish at times silverfish 4:37 hue to it? Maybe it's my eyes but I really like how it plays with light. Edit: LOL commented before watched the whole video you referenced it that the light does play off the black and give it some life.
I’ve got the 4mm green dial and it fits perfectly. I have a bigger wrist. I’ve also tried on the 38mm and it fits great. These are the ideal sizes for men’s watches. Longines have really gone and done it here! 👌🏼
@@daveLin104 I like the butterfly clasp very much actually and its pretty comfortable. I tried the Spirit 37 and I loved it. The spirit 37 I think is more of a GADA type watch than the conquest
@mehmetcamat4458 thanks for the reply would you say the conquest is more dressy then ? I prefer the look of indices on the conquest they look cleaner but as a watch to read the time I prefer actual numbers and the spirit does them very well.
YES, ive been saying this ever since the 42mm came out. It seems like they are listening to us with the 39 Zulu time, legend diver, now the 38 conquest. I'm sure we will get it, cant really think about any sub 40mm chrono out there, maybe the 39mm Seiko Speedtimer but thats solar, the fit is perfetc tho
@@AndreiMin 39 39 or 40, I don’t care. Even 38,5 is possible though, and it can still look great (see Sinn 6000). I’ve had the Seiko and sold it because I wanted a mechanical chrono instead. And I still want one. The Omega Speedy looks too „common“ and simple, I think the Conquest Chrono is perfect.
I disagree this on being a "special occasions" watch you cannot take climbing etc. The name is Conquest. It has sapphire crystal, 100M water resistance, screw down crown, highly anti magnetic for example. It is built for everyday use. Don't baby it just because it has some polished edges. That's not what this watch is made for. It's a versatile do it all watch.
Harrison, thank God you are not leaving out "as always" because for a few episodes I thought there was a close clone of you... whew. Glad that is over. Agreed, the Conquest 38 is near perfection....I kept waiting to get my hands on the green 41 and could never find one...so...in a moment of supreme weakness I bought the 38 Aqua Terra in Saffron. That being said...the green 38 is next....Thank you for your insight and commentary!
I got to try on the ladies' version of this watch and was totally caught off guard! It doesn't look like much in stock photos, but in person you can really see the refined craftsmanship that is so important when it comes to subtle, simple designs. The green is my favourite as well, and I totally agree about the date window - I quite like the Date Just, but the date window is somehow too bulbous and distracting, definitely prefer it at 6 o'clock, and don't really care if I can't read it 😅
Longines has replaced three position Tudor used to sit Amazing watches and great value for the $$$ So many killer pieces Also - keep up the awesome content, love it 🥰
The smaller watch trend has been going for a while now. I bought a 36mm Rolex OP back in 2020, while big watches were still popping off, because I knew the trend always roams back towards 36-39mm. My Rolex Op wears like a 38mm and is perfect for my 6.75 inch wrist.
Visited the Longines AD today and got a surprise to see this 38mm was a new release. Muuuuch nicer size. The 19mm lug width would probably be my only gripe. The dial colours are lovely
Longines absolutely killing it ATM. Latest Longines Conquest Chronograph is absolutely amazing in any color and this videos model in green is beeeeeautiful. Unfortunately to my 19cm wrist its way too small so I save my money to chrono model
Love the 38. I liked the design since they released the 41, but due to the flat sitting lugs, it wore way too big for me. The thickness is the same as it has the same movement as the 41. The reason for the clasp closing like that is for extra safety, as a double locking mechanism. The classic butterfly is more likely to fully open if you touch it accidentaly, and will wear off faster in time.
As someone who is looking to save for a special occasion watch this video came at the right time!! I do seem to lean to Longines, my 1st "proper" watch was a green prx 80 which I love and I think this is the next logical step
I have both the 38mm aqua terra teak blue dial and this conquest 38mm champagne dial. The longines is a great watch and amazing value at $2000, but the aqua terra blows it out of the water in terms of build quality, finishing and attention to detail, but what else would you expect at three times the price?
Looking at my aqua terra - it looks like the this clasp uses a similar mechanism. It’s going to be much better and more secure than the older model butterfly clasp.
Recently picked up the Longines Spirit 37mm in blue and I’m loving that, but the green dial here looks amazing. Perhaps my 2nd Longines later this year. I love the blue OP, but can’t justify the price difference. My other option is the BB36mm, but that’s still another £1300 more 😊
I think the Citizen Tsuyosa is closer to being an Affordable Rolex Datejust. It looks very similar, has date magnifier but enough differences like the integrated bracelet and moved crown to differentiate.
I like the 41mm version but find it a bit too big for my taste. The reviewers said that they expected a smaller edition but don't hold your breath. Well here it is. I am tempted but there is still the new BB and of course the Aqua Terra. What a dilemma.
They all look great, but it is disappointing that the major brands continue to not release color matching date wheels. I mean the $300 Erebus watch has matching wheels. Can't tell me Longines couldn't do that for $2000.
It's odd that Longines's website doesn't mention if this is a COSC movement or not. I was curious and Googled the L888 and it seems like it's supposed to be a COSC certified movement, but I can't see anywhere that confirms this.
I kinda wanna ask since I see a lot of reviewer do this. Does Rolex actually lives rent free in your mind and you see all other watches as a rolex alternative first? Or is it just because doing that caches view?
Try closing a butterfly clasp using both sides at the same time, you can't. Closing it in a certain order is no big deal, you'd close it in the same way if it doesn't have to be in a certain order.
An omega seamaster at 39mm minus the helium excape knob will absolutely shake up the market and put Tudor BB58 especially in hot water along with the sub from rolex
