Your take on this episode had me laughing quite a bit! I really enjoyed it! For me, I feel sorry for the character of Adah. I thought the boys confronting Ben was funny, especially since they nudged Hoss to be their spokesperson. I've noticed that they tend to make Hoss their spokesperson when it's all three of them confronting Ben about something. I love the sibling bits we get to see with the boys in this episode! Btw I don't know if you've ever watched the Andy Griffeth show, but the little man who kept running away played a reoccurring character on that show named Otis.
One of my favorite episodes! I always wondered in the bar scene when Hoss is fighting Reagan if Adam could really have held Pa back. Ben is no weakling and he was furious at Reagan for beating Little Joe so how did Adam hold him back? Just a little spot that made me wonder otherwise a great episode!
Honestly, Adam probably had a massive adrenaline spike combined with desperation, which would help him hold Ben back, plus the knowledge that if he let go he might very well lose Ben. He knows Hoss has the best chance of not only surviving, but possibly even winning. But if he lets go...
The odd look ADAH gives Adam after the kiss makes me think your theory that she worried about having feelings for Adam and coming between Adam and his father may be right. Good catch. 🙂
I always wonder what does happen between Adam & Adah in that room after that kiss. After all, later in the programme when Ben is wiping up Hoss, he mentions that Adam is very much his son. And Adam tips his hat as if to hide his eyes away from Pa. Do you think it was more than a kiss?!
I would think that he'd not let it get further than that because he knows his Father is in love with her, but I also think he did catch feelings. I believe what Adah meant when she told Ben that Adam was very much his son is that he's just as charming while also being as much an gentleman and protective of his family. That is an interesting point. Maybe part of Ben realized that he stood no chance. Then again, he certainly was angry enough not to care.
