Fun Fact: In the EU/Legends novel Kenobi by John Jackson Miller, Obi-Wan does briefly mention the events on Tatooine from this game during one of his meditation sessions where he tries to contact Qui-Gon. Definitely blew my mind when I realized they were referencing the game I would play every summer when I went to see my dad as a young lad.

I used to have this game myself back when I had the original xbox and I absolutely loved it. The only reason I sold it was because my xbox decided to blow its brains out And I couldn't afford to get another one at the time. Looking back at it though I wish I had kept ahold of it until I was able to get a new xbox xbox but at the time the Xbox 360 was just coming out and I didn't think I'd be playing those old games anymore, But now I kind of regret it.

I had this game as a kid. It was one of the only games we had for the Xbox. I remember in one of the early sections you can turn around at the start of the level and find a Wookie who will follow you around the who level and help fight. We were so stoked when we figured this out and it ended up being the only level I would play.
Every now and then you'd force push an object at an enemy and it would magnet to the wookie and he'd turn hostile and absolutely wreck your shit. I was terrified of that wookie lol.

I considered doing a Jedi Battles tournament with my college buddies back in the day, and even charted out each Jedi's damage per swing on an Excel document (Ki-Adi-Mundi was interesting because he was one of the strongest offensively, but weakest defensively) before deciding on a more balanced and less buggy game. I kid you not, I still replay this game at least once a year. Glad to see someone give it some praise. It's got its flaws, but I do enjoy it immensely. Hmm... Maybe I'll go play it now.

It wasn't until I recently replayed this game where I realized obiwan's dialog at the end after the credits is a parody of the opening monolog of trainspotting which as a fan of the movie made me laugh very hard.
Not gonna enter on the "why this doesnt have more views" territory because you already know, but i tell ya, this kind of videos, you can feel the guy has a talent for it, i discovered you 2 or 3 days ago and i already love your work man. Greatly done. That said,yes, you should appear more in video suggestions, i only discovered you because i was searching battlefield psp games info. I was fortunate enough to play the hell out of this game back when it released. Used to love the duel arena vs. the Jedi Masters. Now looking back the way he swings like he's aiming for mailboxes is pretty funny.
This brings back memories. I loved playing this along with the Phantom Menace and Jedi Power Battles. So many good games. The one thing I would have changed was when you held the left stick in a direction Obi-wan arm and the lightsaber should have stayed stretched out instead of snapping back.
Phantom Menace is one of my absolute favorites. It’s probably the cheesiest game I’ve ever played, and the “game overs” from characters dying(Game Over: Jar Jar has died) were hilarious. Buying fresh dried chokie on Tatooine, fighting that weird monster in Jabba’s palace, and pissing off Qui-Gon by beating him with your lightsaber in the beginning are memories I never want to lose 😂

What I loved so much about this game was the big Prequel of Obi-Wan before Episode 1. It wasnt only about the movie, no they gave him much more missions

Jedi Guardians use blue blades and the Temple Guard or Jedi Sentinel's use yellow blade the reason why Mace windu uses a purple blade is most likely because of his fighting/dueling style Vaapad. a forbidden dueling style only used by Windu that focuses on the darker aspects of one's emotions. there was also a short time where Adi Gallia used a red saber but im not sure why she did this. other then this, lightsaber colors have litterally nothing to do with rank/title but with what type of group the Jedi belongs too Consulars who are more focused upon the force itself, and usually the diplomats are using green. the Jedi Guardians, duelists and Weapon Masters use blue and the Jedi Temple guards and Jedi Sentinel's use yellow thats it
This was one of my favorite games growing up. I spent countless hours trying to get every secrets. I don't remember if I got them all, but I do remember getting a crap ton and it was fun as all.

I always LOVED the way Obi Wan finished off Maul in this game. Slicing him and then 'force blasting' his two halves apart is just such an awesome move.

Thanks Luggy! I was ignorant to how many Xbox games are not backwards compatible with the 360 and the One. And emulation for the OG Xbox just isn't reliable. I bought my Xbox earlier this year and am loving it. But do keep in mind, their disc drives have a highly failure rate. Mine failed right after finishing this review sadly but luckily I had a warranty to replace it. Might be a good idea to mod one if you can
Do it. I know that Xbox said they ended support for backwards compatible support. In my retro game store years ago I bought the Clone Wars and Episode 3 game and luckily they were brought over.

I remember getting the Xbox on launch day and you had a choice of packages of what games you wanted. I had the halo and obi wan. I didn’t like halo but loved obi wan. The feel of the game was very good. It was memory lane that bought me to you. Great video and very entertaining. Well done. Your time will come padawan.
Good retrospective! One thing you didn’t hit on, for reasons that are probably pretty understandable and obvious, is that this game had a very good split-screen multiplayer component. It was pretty much just the Jedi master duels but you picked from the list of Jedi masters (Plo Koon stans rise up) and duked it out. You could use all the force powers from the single player, including the force slow, lightsaber throw, etc.which led to some wacky situations and I honestly played the multiplayer WAY more than the single player
Me too! Loved playing around with all the jedis with my friend. Staging different battle scenarios, testing out the force powers in different ways, and just using our imaginations to stay entertained for hours upon hours.

This game was lots of fun. For the time the graphics were damn good, and of course, the Darth Maul final boss! The lightsaber attacks left a little to be desired but overall, everything came together pretty good

This was the first Xbox game I ever bought when I was 11. I was looking to get something else (Binx: The Time Sweeper I believe) and my dad was the one who pointed Obi-Wan out. I absolutely loved the game even though it would straight up PISS me off sometimes. (Ps Praise the algorithm for finally blessing me with such a good channel!)

Great review. I used to play this game over and over again as a kid, I still have the game and pop it in once in awhile. It's definitely not a masterpiece, but I believe it's underrated and a sequel would have been great if it similarly started before the events of episode 2 and takes you up to Geonosis.
I always loved this game and still play it occasionally. It's my favorite of the episode 1 Obi-Wan games which include this, the phantom menace, and episode 1 obi wan adventures.
i remember trying this game once when i was a really little kid on my uncle's Xbox since i didn't have one back then, it had a really cool boxart but i think i remember liking kotor and this Lord of the rings 3rd age one a bit more. i don't really remember anything about it though so i kinda wanna come back to it
This game and battlefront 2 for the original Xbox were genuinely my favourite games of all time. They hold a special place in my heart, especially after losing my twin brother a few years ago. So many amazing memories playing these games with him. Simpler times ❤️ miss you Jack

Went back and replayed this in anticipation of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series. This was the first Xbox game that I played when I got an Xbox used back in 2006.

This game I played so much as a child when it first came out, and even though I havent been able to play it in well over a decade, I'm sure I'd still be able to navigate all of my favorite levels with all the time I've spent hunting for all of the secrets.
So much nostalgia!! Would've played this as a young kid around 2004 or 2005 and I was never good enough to get past the Naboo level. I think the limited attempts kept me from progressing. The atmosphere on the early coruscant levels also scared me!!

Wow...I loved this game in my mid 20's, when my oldest son was about 5 or 6 and the prequels ( 2 and 3) were being made. I remember if you had Obi try to do somthing he couldn't or open a door he couldn't he would say "I'm not sure" in that unique British accent. My wife and 5 year old would mimic it and to this day in my house, occasionally you'll hear somone say " I'm not sure" with that accent if they can't figure somthing out. Funny how silly parlance like that influenced and stuck around for 22 years.

I was hoping someone reviewed this game. Anyone I've asked about it has either never played it or never heard of it. This was part of my childhood. I loved the right thumbstick use for the Saber.
This game(not Halo) is actually the main reason I bought an original Xbox back when it was cutting-edge and new. I was(and am) a die-hard Star Wars fan, and this game looked AWESOME. I remember the old Xbox website used to have trailers for their games in a small potato-video frame and I watched the video for this one CONSTANTLY. It did not disappoint, and it's still one of my favorite games of all time. I love the combat and the setting.

This was one of my favorite games growing up. I spent countless hours trying to get every secrets. I don't remember if I got them all, but I do remember getting a crap ton and it was fun as all.

I always LOVED the way Obi Wan finished off Maul in this game. Slicing him and then 'force blasting' his two halves apart is just such an awesome move.
Not forgotten by me. Love this game. My friends and I spent untold hours doing the duel mode.

Thanks Luggy! I was ignorant to how many Xbox games are not backwards compatible with the 360 and the One. And emulation for the OG Xbox just isn't reliable. I bought my Xbox earlier this year and am loving it. But do keep in mind, their disc drives have a highly failure rate. Mine failed right after finishing this review sadly but luckily I had a warranty to replace it. Might be a good idea to mod one if you can

In my retro game store years ago I bought the Clone Wars and Episode 3 game and luckily they were brought over.

I remember getting the Xbox on launch day and you had a choice of packages of what games you wanted. I had the halo and obi wan. I didn’t like halo but loved obi wan. The feel of the game was very good. It was memory lane that bought me to you. Great video and very entertaining. Well done. Your time will come padawan.

Good retrospective! One thing you didn’t hit on, for reasons that are probably pretty understandable and obvious, is that this game had a very good split-screen multiplayer component. It was pretty much just the Jedi master duels but you picked from the list of Jedi masters (Plo Koon stans rise up) and duked it out. You could use all the force powers from the single player, including the force slow, lightsaber throw, etc.which led to some wacky situations and I honestly played the multiplayer WAY more than the single player
Me too! Loved playing around with all the jedis with my friend. Staging different battle scenarios, testing out the force powers in different ways, and just using our imaginations to stay entertained for hours upon hours.

This game was lots of fun. For the time the graphics were damn good, and of course, the Darth Maul final boss! The lightsaber attacks left a little to be desired but overall, everything came together pretty good

This was the first Xbox game I ever bought when I was 11. I was looking to get something else (Binx: The Time Sweeper I believe) and my dad was the one who pointed Obi-Wan out. I absolutely loved the game even though it would straight up PISS me off sometimes.

Great review. I used to play this game over and over again as a kid, I still have the game and pop it in once in awhile. It's definitely not a masterpiece, but I believe it's underrated and a sequel would have been great if it similarly started before the events of episode 2 and takes you up to Geonosis.

i remember trying this game once when i was a really little kid on my uncle's Xbox since i didn't have one back then, it had a really cool boxart but i think i remember liking kotor and this Lord of the rings 3rd age one a bit more. i don't really remember anything about it though so i kinda wanna come back to it

So much nostalgia!! Would've played this as a young kid around 2004 or 2005 and I was never good enough to get past the Naboo level. I think the limited attempts kept me from progressing. The atmosphere on the early coruscant levels also scared me!!

Wow...I loved this game in my mid 20's, when my oldest son was about 5 or 6 and the prequels ( 2 and 3) were being made.
I remember if you had Obi try to do somthing he couldn't or open a door he couldn't he would say "I'm not sure" in that unique British accent. My wife and 5 year old would mimic it and to this day in my house, occasionally you'll hear somone say " I'm not sure" with that accent if they can't figure somthing out.
Funny how silly parlance like that influenced and stuck around for 22 years.

I was hoping someone reviewed this game. Anyone I've asked about it has either never played it or never heard of it. This was part of my childhood. I loved the right thumbstick use for the Saber.
This game(not Halo) is actually the main reason I bought an original Xbox back when it was cutting-edge and new. I was(and am) a die-hard Star Wars fan, and this game looked AWESOME. I remember the old Xbox website used to have trailers for their games in a small potato-video frame and I watched the video for this one CONSTANTLY. It did not disappoint, and it's still one of my favorite games of all time. I love the combat and the setting.
