Hopefully the R46 fleet will be fully retired soon. Those cars went into service in 1975. The R179’s R211’s are getting closer and closer to fully taking over the A and C lines and will allow the CBTC project on the 8th Avenue line to keep progressing. All of the R211 cars have the CBTC technology installed on them as they are built.
