Tony Kravitz great idea. Let place a piece of ice over a severed leg.

    • @AnthonyKravitz

Patch Weaver, no! the ice is to preserve the severed leg until reimplantation! Or one can ice a fall injury caused by the slippery floor.

when you freeze water you get impurities near the edges, which turns the ice cloudy. The best way to avoid this is to remove the cloudy part. You could polish up a ball from a somewhat bigger mold, but if you're gonna handle it you might as well carve it from a significantly bigger block. Especially, as here, when done on an industrial scale. Why go through all that trouble for clear ice? It looks fancy.

All those people, all that time and money, all that expensive machinery, all the electricity used....
When they can just use a sealed tray , fill it up and maybe only have to snip off a nail sized piece from filling process... Yet that depends on the amount if water used and basic calculation on the rate of expansion.

whisky tastes better with this type of ice, it melts slower than the normal ice, because there are no corners. Some high standard bar in Japan tend to make these ice on their own hands infront of customers as a show.
