How long on average do those filters last and what does it look like to replace. Seems like that and maintenance would be the most expensive expenses here.
Maintenance is a huge expense. All parts are expensive to replace. They are difficult repairs also only because there is limited access to reach these parts. Plus consider malfunction of coin changer, bill acceptor, limit switch, etc. I have owned one for 5 years and regret this purchase

if you're putting them at a business make sure and explain to the business owner how it will bring them more business - either people buying ice will buy stuff at their store or people using their campground will see this as a bonus

However, people will still be throwing parties that require ice. Blue collar workers will be still be working and still need ice. Ice demand is still very high in the winter months!

The vending is not the only aspect of failure. Certainly the ice production has many moving parts such as a water pump. Reversing valves and other such solenoids. Probably a purge or dump valve and an inlet water valve. Also electronics to control the ice production. A fan motor for cooling a condenser coil. So how is it you advertise only one moving part? Also, is the ice machine 30 or 22 inch’s wide?

Depends on water usage but on the average every year is recommended.

Also filter replacement depends on quality of water. I change mine at minimum a couple times a year.
