This car has been nothing but a pleasure to own since I bought it in August. I can compare it directly to my mothers 09 Accord and she actually prefers my car over hers!
Wellp, I just bought one with 200k miles in 2019. Thing still looks and drives like brand new (well, other than some minor rust and a mismatched wheel, but I wasn't expecting perfection for $2200 on a 10 year old car that lived its life in the north)! It's my first Ford and I have to say, I'm impressed! I have the 4cyl SE model. I concur with the handling performance - feels really great for day to day driving. Build quality is clearly above average, as even at 200k miles, there is little road noise and I do not notice any annoying vibrations/rattles at all. All the electronics still work...window and seat motors are getting a bit weak, but still have plenty of life left in them. 4cyl is a little under powered but not tragically so (again, especially given the mileage). Transmission seems less than perfect and hesitates a little at times, but that's probably down to age and mileage, rather than a fault with the entire year's model line. It WILL fail some day and may be close to the end for this one or I'm just paranoid. Maybe you wont get so lucky, but overall, it still seems like a great car that lasts (at least in some cases lol)
People have had power steering issues on that model, luckily I haven't and hope I won't for a long time. But I agree it's a good car mine only has 83k miles and minimal issues.
Ruben Junior Ayala just bought a ‘12 Fusion 2.5L with 95k miles on it, drove another one of same year which has 37k miles, I hardly noticed any difference. This is a very very good car...!!!!
This 2010 model has done a complete 180 compared to the previous model... I'm surprised somebody would even consider this model being ugly in person... It baffels me really, it is beautiful in person, the grill is very very nice, the interior is AWESOME and over all it is just a nicer vehicle than many on the market now... But that is just one persons opinion, maybe somebody bought the fusion a little earlier than they wish... Great car tho...
If I were in the market for a Hybrid, I would definatly go with this over a Prius. This vehicle looks like an actual car than just a funny looking body to fit a go-kart size framed Prius.
I test drive a Fusion SE today. This was my second test drive. The first one (SE) I drove was quiet with a smooth . The second one had a lot road and wind noise. I couldn't wait to get back to dealership and park it.
@Private Account Thats interesting. I bought a 2010 SEL Fusion a year ago and it has hard shifts from 2nd to 3rd which seems to be a common issue (based on what I've read on reddit).
@Jonathan A Same weird shift from 2nd to 3rd on my Fusion that I bought last year (2010 SEL). I've heard it's common and well, thats it. It sucks sometimes. I'm like "is my shit broken? Oh, ... ok now it shifts" lol. I've even gotten to the point where I try to manually shift it to prevent that.
quick question, the V6 has AWD and the Sport trim too. is there any difference between the too, is it more safer to get the SLE AWD than the Sport AWD?
Im about to buy fusion 2010...I read a lot of negative response from some owners. Overall has mechanical problems, transmission problems, and engine as well, especially the throttle body. If any has advise please shoot!
I have SEL..transmission is very unprdictible..would have Ford tech find the issue..but have little to ZERO faith with that idea. I have 104,000 miles on it have it serviced buy the book. Car is nice...ride is a bit rigid after a while. Not a soft ride Leather seats nice but for me not comfortable for long runs I would give it a 7 overall😀
Why are you comparing cars in different classes? The Fusion hybrid is a bigger car and offers more interior space so it wouldn't be surprising if it got lower MPG.. The Hyundai Sonata is the Fusions competitor not the Elantra.. The Elantra competes with the Ford Focus...
@studpuppy69 Really your right, my 1998 Chevy Lumina I paid $1500 for gets me 24mpg city and about 30 highway. If the Ford hybrid only gets 34mpg that's pretty sad, inefficient engine that probably can't make it past 120,000 miles. I mean old 1990's 4 cylinders are getting regular 28city/33 highway and they cost 1/4th the price of these new model cars.
34 MPG? Pretty shitty for a Hybrid. Just save your money and get a 4 cylinder. The Ford Fiesta gets 30 city 40 highway or better. The Hyundai Sonata 22 city 34 highway. Your just saving a few MPGs not worth it.
This is not the Euro Fusion so your post is irrelevant when it comes to this video.. The 03 Fusion in Europe is a CUV and the Fusion in the video above is a Ford sedan based on the Mazda 6... They are completely different vehicles...
Garbage car slow as heck. Any part placed needs an additional 135.00 reprogramming at the dealership. It takes 2 seconds to accidentally put on mykey feature. Yet they charge $100.00 to take it off smdh! Mechanic videos on RUclips say they place rock paper scissors when a Ford comes in because they are complicated to work on and nobody wants the job.
I'm not liking the styling. It's rather ugly in person. The grill is an enormous slab of chrome on the front. The alloy wheels I've seen are grotesque, and the rear end is rather flat and square compared to the nice roundish rear of the previous generation. I think I like the older Fusion better. The older interior looked more sophisticated and Euro-ish than this new blobby styled interior.
These cars are JUNK!!! Horrible resale value and now they're a dime a dozen on budget lots for 2-3 grand with rusted out rockers and sun beaten paint lol. Only model worth getting only because it has a Taurus engine and a different transmission would be the Sport aka " SHO Jr." These were rarer and now hard to find! They are way better than the regular trimmed cars.
This car has been nothing but a pleasure to own since I bought it in August.
I can compare it directly to my mothers 09 Accord and she actually prefers my car over hers!
I've had three Fusions, and they're great. No issues, no problems. Go with the leather seats, they're much more comfortable.
Except in the summer. Holy shit they get hot!

Thanks for that! Really considering getting one, what year is yours? I've been looking into 2011-2012 models
People have had power steering issues on that model, luckily I haven't and hope I won't for a long time. But I agree it's a good car mine only has 83k miles and minimal issues.

I like the design of the car, it look amazing.

Great car tho...
I had a 2011 Mercury Milan. It was a good car to drive. It was just like the Ford Fusion inside. A little bit different than the outside.
I was thinking about this car until I saw how old are all the comments, jezz I'm so broke
If I were in the market for a Hybrid, I would definatly go with this over a Prius. This vehicle looks like an actual car than just a funny looking body to fit a go-kart size framed Prius.
I have 08 fusion sel 4 cylinder automatic just got it used with 99,000 miles. Decent car so far
How is it holding up?
Is it still decent car??
The reason the back seat doesn't fold in the hybrid is the fact that the battery located near the bench seat.
how times have changed even for the 2014 model year.
That capless fuel thing is pretty cool! Haha
@austinman1995 Incorrect, AWD is available with the V6 on the SEL model, just not on the SE model.
I test drive a Fusion SE today. This was my second test drive. The first one (SE) I drove was quiet with a smooth . The second one had a lot road and wind noise. I couldn't wait to get back to dealership and park it.
My 2010 sel v6 is a great car. The problem is people dont know how to take care of their cars and actually change their trans fluid.
@Private Account Thats interesting. I bought a 2010 SEL Fusion a year ago and it has hard shifts from 2nd to 3rd which seems to be a common issue (based on what I've read on reddit).

what impressed me most is his hair.

Mos Amaze I’m looking into getting this one, ughhh so should I not??
I have SEL..transmission is very unprdictible..would have Ford tech find the issue..but have little to ZERO faith with that idea. I have 104,000 miles on it have it serviced buy the book.

Cool car
Good Job Ford, I´m getting the V6 version
I still have mine, with currently 246,000 miles.... on the V6 version.
Hardly see any of these anymore! Ones I do see are rusty and beat up.
you guys didn't get a sport?!
between and audi a4 and a v6 ford fusion which one is more bigger?
11yrs, and no answer. Sad.
@@carstuff4u942 you still didnt answer lol
The 2012 Ford Fusion is bigger than the 2012 Audi A4 by about 9 inches sorry for being a little late...
@tenshilvrz
You're right about the Camry, once you drive one, you can't stop. LOL.
hm. seems like a pretty good car. good job ford. i probably wouldnt buy it, but seems like a good alternative to think of.
24 MPG OVERALL WITH THE 4 POT no way my 2010 sel 2.5 gets 28 average over a tank
2023 still driving it in subai
im getting the hybrid this weekend!
Is this car better than the new Taurus ?? What´s the main difference ??
Im looking at getting a 2011 hybrid model. Listed at 183k miles for 5 k, no accidents . Is this a good buy? The high milage is sort of scaring me off.
Did u end up buying it? I found a 2011 with 100k for 5k
Dont buy the battery cost few grand to replace on hybrids...I have a 201p ford fusion 70 thousand miles no accidents
how was this video posted in 2009 for cars that didn't even exist?
interesting -_-?🤔
Because the 2010s came out in the summer of 2009. Much like how the 2020s should arrive on dealer lots this summer
I rented one with a 3 liter. Nice auto.
cr only got 29 mpg in the elantra overall
no look at there taurus review they killed it
Consumer Report has a lead foot.
@palebeachbum
The old one looked good in black. Kind reminded me of a Mercedes.
@disneywlf yup, dam right
thats the first tine consumer reports hasn't said something bad about a car lol
transmission oil gets dirty fast
Change the fluid about 30,000 miles before the maintenance interval!
does anyone else have issue with the sits? it is so uncomfortable.
Good info
Maybe you could have done one on the gas version, you know... the one 99% of people will get?
@heschwei I couldnt have said it better myself...
@studpuppy69 Really your right, my 1998 Chevy Lumina I paid $1500 for gets me 24mpg city and about 30 highway. You sure... ?I counted bout 5.....
Yeah but aren't they made in *Mexico*?
I'd buy one if they were made in the U.S.
I'll probably end up buying a Taurus when my lease expires.
Nice car.
34 mpg for a hybrid is lame. Go buy a Hyundai Elantra instead.
2011 is so much better
the 2010 2011 and. 2012 are the same.
Uh...what?
JD Power? Dude they get payed to say shit like that.
34 MPG? Pretty shitty for a Hybrid. Just save your money and get a 4 cylinder. The Ford Fiesta gets 30 city 40 highway or better. The Hyundai Sonata 22 city 34 highway. Your just saving a few MPGs not worth it.
anybody want to give me one

Stupid car. Zero resale value as no body will buy it from u. And basically its a mazda 6

Yeah I touched the mykey feature too lol big mistake

It looks way better with the monochrome package where the grill matches the car

exterior is boring
