All Accurate information. One thing I will add is that exotics plants on Prometheus also respawn every three hours as well. Also on dedicated servers sometimes (most likely a bug) they sometimes respawn on restart, but its not reliable. They are currently working on respawning trees, and as always there are the resource packs now for most resource types. Another note is that if you are harvesting exotics, and the event starts USUALLY it will not affect the node your extracting, but rarely I've found it to refresh the Deep vein. You showed up on my feed =)
LNS! Thanks for the tips Josh. I'm only just getting started with Prometheus so I didn't think to add that. I'm assuming the exotics plants are like the cave nodes for regular exotics. I didn't know about the rare vein reset while on it, I don't think I've ever been on a vein when the event occurred but good to know. Dose it just go dark as if you finished it?
Thanks Benny for this video. I've definitely seen the cave ores respawn in the open world. Great to finally know the actual answer now. Time for me and my friends to go and explore more caves and get to thumpers faster. Keep up the great work.
My group as well, we've basically never used a thumper before. I think one of the guys built one and fired it up for a min but that's about it. Kinda looking forward to trying it out and fighting giant cave worms. Lol
This is great info and I appreciate when creators admit their mistakes and make corrections. It makes the game and content about the game better for everybody.
Thanks, appreciate the support. I only want to make positive contributions and hopefully be a little entertaining along the way. I can't feel good about myself if I can't at least try fix my mistakes.
During testing I never had a single non-stone mining node respawn no matter how much I mined from it unless for some reason that section of map was reset during an update. I think respawns from updates is where a lot of the misinformation comes from in the community. There may be other circumstances that lead to it happening as well but from what I've been told by the dev I spoke to it seems like ore node respawns are never part of any intentional game behavior.
Just a couple of us currently covering the game yeah. I hope it can start getting some traction again some day. It's a good game now but shot itself in the foot on launch then had to sell DLC to keep the studio afloat which alienated a lot of people back then. And still does to an extent. If people gave it another chance then I think more creators would cover it.
Perfect Timing. As a new player playing with friends on an Open world, we were discussing this very topic recently and it answers the questions of respawn of resources. I do hope trees will eventually be able regrow otherwise the storm damage would leave no trees in the world prior to your landing on the world without rapid regrowth, though I could see this being performance issue as growth stages are being calculated. This Video was well worth a Like and Subscribe
Thanks, glad I could help! The wind storm effect is only local to the players so it likely won't be a problem except in the areas you spend the most time in. Though this does mean going farther and farther away to get wood!
Great video, would have been nice to get that level of transparency in the communication last year when I looked in that game. Since between bug after bug and high price tag, I moved on. Great Kudos to you, to have taken the time to share that with the remaining community, if such thing exist !
It's a pretty good size community still considering the launch disaster. The game has come a long way. It's still a bit buggy but the dev team turns out weekly updates and it's for the most part getting better every time. I know they sold the DLC to pay the bills, and that without it there wouldn't be a game at the moment, but it does severely hurt the games image in a lot of people's eyes. I hope the community can get more people to come back and at least give the base game a try.
There is a stone boulder in front of my base, and I swear I take it out, all of it, and it comes back after restart. It’s really annoying me, but I guess it’s a win win as well because I have unlimited stones. 😂 Nice video. Thanks for doing all the work.
Yeah, I've seen these before too. They're annoying. I'm told it's just that there's a tiny piece left. Probably under the map. I have the master skill that gives you a 1% chance to completely harvest a node on each hit. That's how I got rid of the last one but it took a few tries before I got it all. Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!
The boulders do not regenerate if you build something too near to them (he did not mention that mechanic in the video). So you can make e.g. a dirt foundation, lower it into the ground right next to the bouder, that you mined down to not disturb you anymore, and the boulder will not regenerate, even if some parts of the boulder still remained unmined under the ground.
Good information. Thanks! One thing I want to add is that there is an easy way to get your caves to respawn their ore in Open World: Simply have a friend join the world. When their drop pod lands from orbit, the caves respawn. I believe this is intended so that new players to join an existing open world have a chance to mine ores in nearby caves, rather than discover they've already been all cleared out. From observation, I believe the exotic meteor shower doesn't trigger until you've mined all three available exotic veins in your Open World.
I never noticed the new player thing but my group joins the same map on the same day so it wouldn't be very obvious to us. I dodn't think it's intentional based on what Sabre070 said but I hadn't heard this one before so I didn't ask about it. I have confirmation about the exotics meteor shower event. I personally used to think it was after 2. But I've since witnessed it happen after a single vein and that's backed up by the patch notes from when that feature was introduced. Though obviously a bug or something may be causing it to skip or something. I'm just reporting on how it's designed to work not what could be happening in error. I'm not at my computer at the moment but if you're interested I can look up the patch number for you later if you want to read though it.
@@benny9 Regarding the exotic meteor showers, I'll take yours and Sabre070's word on it. I've just not yet had it occur until after all three were mined. I'll take it as weird luck so I don't loose my previous scans until I'm done mining them all. Maybe the chance of the meteor shower increases with each additional vein that has been mined?
@KodosTheExecutioner hard to say but that could be part of it. Are you checking to see what the clock is at? There's a chance for a meteor shower every three hours. So at 3, 6, 9 etc. hours on the product counter. If you mine the first one out at 1 hour in, there won't be a meteor shower until hour 3. So if you mine out both the others before that it would seem like you needed all three when in fact you just needed to wait 2 hours and it would have happened either way.
With a portable beacon. You can make them at tier 3. Or, like I did, get them from a simple mission. There are two types you can get from missions. The prototype portable beacon only leaves a blue marker that you can't customize. The regular portable beacon lets you set color, icon, and display distance.
Thanks for the info and clarification Benny! Great video once again. Quick question, how do you get the red outline on animals when you are aiming? I thought it was from a talent but it doesn't seem to be working for me.
It's from a talent or a suite module. I'm my case it's the talent. There's basically 5 talents involved, under the adventure tab, hunting tree, starts with the first talent that shows the hp bat, then there's a talent for showing progress of small animals, then medium, large and then show bosses. To see the outlines you have to to aiming down sights.
You mentioned only 3 exotic ore vain are on the map at a time...is that the whole map in open world or just the region. Like im at the north end of the river lands....and ive drain one of the vains and saw the meteor shower. Being in open world, could the new exotics vain spawn in the other cornor of the open world map...or will it spawn somewhere in the riverlands?
Three total for the whole map and they can spawn in any region. I've seen them in complete opposite corners. Though that would be pretty unlucky. I've also had them spawn so close together my group could see two of them from a single vantage point. And yeah, it only takes one drained to trigger it.
curious for the cave "respawns"... has it been tested to leave part of said node intact in the cave then attempt to restart the game to see if it acts like the rock/bolders?
Yep, tested. Lol. First thing I did when I found out how boulders work. Ore nodes do NOT function like stone boulders sadly. They'll stay partial. Which means they only hurt performance if you don't finish mining the node.
I'm off topic but at the start of the video, where you are looking for the hidden cache, i noticed there's smokes coming out of it? I never had smokes whenever I find a hidden cache?
I think it varies based on the difficulty of the mission. Making it harder to find the cache. But I could be wrong. Might just be that it glitches out sometimes.
@@benny9 So I tested something and put my settings to medium and now I can see the smokes out of the cache lol. The amount of times and minutes I've spent looking for caches in the past lol
@Skorpionzero4 oh wow. You would think that would be something that would function regardless of the settings since it's kind of important to how the mission works. Glad you figured it out!
This was for the open world yeah. The exotics only have a chance to spawn every three hours. It's not a certainly. I have like 12+ hours on that prospect so that's 4 chances already for exotics to spawn in each of those caves. The longer your open world goes on the greater the chance that each cave you explore will have exotics. Then once you clear out those exotics, every three hours it has a chance to respawn in there.
If you worry about wood than you can just call in an airdrop...cost 100 REN for 250 wood...pretty cheap..i can do like 400 ren in 15minute using mission..about the same as farming trees and fight off wolf/bears while farming those trees..for fibre you can easily plant berry and harvest them and get fibre pretty easily tbh
I'd personally rather save the Ren and just clear cut some trees. And since fiber plants respawn that's not really an issue. But it all comes down to how you want to play the game. If you'd rather grind missions for Ren to buy wood that's certainly a viable way to get it!
@benny9 i use like 10 or so, 30 slots so you can take more gear down with ya, no keas spawning cause they are annoying, some workshop crates with items packed in them, and some balance things.
How’s toy, I think the DLC’s are overpriced. Especially for the cosmetics. I bought the game on sale only after trying it from free weekend. I think it’s nice for the $18 price tag I got it. But I asked about the DLC and they told me it was to support the creators. I can understand that, but dam, bring it down in price. I just bought the pets dlc so I can have the black horse. But for $16, to have a couple of pets and some furniture, I feel like that’s a big ask. Only ones I think you can justify a bit is the map dlcs. This is almost near asking price of Tarkovs DLC, only difference is they were actively screwing the fan base up the wazoo.
I think I agree on the price being a little steep. I bought New Frontiers during this last sale, that price was reasonable for an entire new map, new creatures, and an entirely new set of missions. I don't own the cosmetics at all. But here's an interesting note, if you play with a group, only one of you needs the DLC. So if I have Prometheus and I start a game, you can join it without having the DLC. If I have a cosmetics pack, I'm the only one who can craft those items but I can hand them off to you to use. The devs have stated this is intentional behavior. They need the money to keep going but aren't trying to be dicks about it. Lol
There is no ongoing support for games without incoming income. The DLCs are on sale regularly. If you feel the price point is too high for your personal circumstances I can understand but others will gladly pay that to support a dev team putting out regular updates for a game they like. And I agree with you some of the pet DLCs seem priced too high, extra maps are perfectly fine where they are priced but the cosmetics element are at least 2-3 times too expensive for me to pay without thinking...
@patrickdelrue546 This is it exactly. Someone will pay it. In fact, I have group members who have purchased the cosmetics without blinking an eye. The other day I came back to the base on our group server to find this massive art deco fireplace where the basic stone one used to be. 🤣 To each their own!
That happens to a lot of people. All I can say is I had over 400 hours in game without ever touching the DLC. I only just picked up one of them on sale. Each map DLC has map and mission content of a whole other game. Also, only the host needs the DLC. So if you own it and you group doesn't, you can host a game for them and they can join it without having purchased it.
And of those 150$ of DLC, only 50$ are content DLCs you'd want to buy for the experience, the extra 100$ are either cosmetics or "Outposts" which are mini-creative maps.
