How I Built A RINGWORLD MEGA STRUCTURE In Minecraft
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 24 май 2024
- I built a functioning ringworld based off of Installation 04 from Halo as my second Minecraft Mega-Structure! Using over 36,000,000 blocks, this build is over 3000 blocks in diameter and features most biomes in game all located on an artificial circular construction.

I've never been that into sci-fi builds in Minecraft but this is just incredible... Here take my eyeballs
no reply?
Why isn’t there a reply
idk
oh
:o jeracraft
Grian be like:
This is a GREAT starter base!
Literally true
Minecraft always reminded me of Larry Niven’s Ringworld, particularly the way the impossibly flat and incomprehensibly vast landscape is separated from the vacuum of space by a thin layer of indestructible glossy black stuff; I couldn’t help but think of ‘bedrock’ as the ‘Scrith’ described in that novel.
That's what it's based off of
I thought the same thing
Same
What about an Alderson Disk?
Yeah especially because Ringworld is so large it might as well be infinite
Watching you bend the terrain is easily some of the most unique and fun timelapse footage to come out of Minecraft ever, and that's before the sheer scale of this build is considered. Absolutely mind-blowing.
Ok
Alright
9:59 It made me wondering: Why didn't you automate it with MCEdit or WorldEdit with a bit of code? (don't know if these are still go-to tools for automated world editing, but I assume the tools today aren't worse compared to what I've been using 8 years ago)
The Holo- halo in the control room thats BIOME MATCHED, thoroughly impressed me. Well done mr. sbeevington
this just shows that minecraft has absolutely no limits on creativity and beauty. This gets an instant subscribe from me. the ring turned out more amazing than i had expected.
apparently we getting there where they started to be a limitations
Wouldn't a Minecraft Ringworld be square?
6:57 This and the next shot are absolutely breathtaking.
It really is. Thanks for the timestamp
No, YOU’RE breathtaking!!!😎👉🏼
Yeah, you guys really need to spend some time outside. good grief.
@@mymomsbasement69 cringe! :)
As lifelong Halo fans and Minecraft fans from before release, you have no idea how much time my siblings and I spent trying to make things like this when we were little. But the game just couldn't handle builds like that so we always had these tiny, lame, undetailed versions. The best thing we ever managed was a scaled down Frigate and SOF. And of course those were before there was a Halo texture pack so...
Anyway, your builds are the kind of things I've wanted to see in MC for most of my life. Love the videos, keep them coming!
Warthog Jump ?! I miss the old days...
same here i managed to build a ring with mods but i never had it look this good mainly cus mine was smaller and like you said less detailed i love how his halo builds come out tho the best i managed when i was younger was a forrunner ship and rapture from BioShock but still didn't have the flare you want in those this guys builds all look nutty tho patience wise
This might be a little late, but you could avoid problems like water/sand falling by running the command //perf off prior to manipulating them. Not exactly sure how that gravity mod works, but hopefully it saves some pain in the future :)
Watching this video gave me a ton of nostalgia for when I used to play Minecraft on my Xbox 360, and I would spend so long messing around on the Halo map that was included with it. I had no grasp on what it was, but I was enthralled by the beauty of the map and the music it had. Been a fan of Halo ever since.
Could you, in theory, split the ring into quarters, and then create chambers at the location of the splits, where the gravity switches automatically? Then a player can enter that chamber and the gravity would switch for them and the change would not be so jarring.
Idk what version it's at but the Starmine mod has blocks you can set up to affect gravity around it automatically.
@@Bacon8t0r Haven't heard about that mod since 2013. It's still getting updated?
@@NobleS1236 on Forge: no it's still only 1.7, but there seems to be a remake of it created a few months ago
That would definitely be possible as long as command blocks can run the gravity commands for the player. If they can, you could probably setup command blocks to detect when a player enters a certain area of the world and have it auto switch the gravity accordingly.
@@Sbeev don't know how the mod itself works, but if the commands are player specific, you can still use "/execute as @p run [mod command]" to execute it as the nearest player
As Halo was my first ever first person shooter and being astounded by the rings, this is the build I’ve been waiting for someone to do properly for so long, what a legend
imagine playing survival on this
For the issue of the game lagging when placing blocks, use a mod which disables skylight updates
Use a data pack/commands to automatically change gravity based on the player's position.
blah blah blah
@@hustlersdomain Blah Blah fvck you
This is how we make great creations like this work!
@@hustlersdomain its a great idea
I love this build, you built a Ring that uses the mod to change gravity, it's functional and looks awesome!
I love original ideas, not building a floating island and dividing it into Minecraft biomes!
Chatgpt?
@@McDonaldsCalifornia reads like it
Google translated to English maybe sentences come out wrong
@@SirkyNL idk, its more that it's two sentences that both start with "i love", dividing the sentence into a point and explanation, and ending in an exclamation. its either gpt or a school english project.
Holy crap, even with the building tools and ability to copy structures I can’t imaging the time and concentration needed for this project. Halo is my favorite gaming franchise so this is epic.
Meanwhile here I am, struggling with building a regular house without messing up.
How tf you mess up a regular house
7:44 Imagine if you could get one of the brackets to have a trigger that plays Siege of Madrigal like the one in Halo CE has...
7:52 I gotta say, I love the designs of both the Halo 3 and CE Control Room Ziggurats but the CE one is significantly more convenient to climb... That is unless you don't do the Banshee Skip to just get to the end of the level.
This is actually insane, the production value is amazing as well. Great watch!
Ah yes, this guy, the "I was good but now suck" kind of person.
I have always wanted to try building a halo ring in MC, but was discouraged by the lack of vertical space. Seeing the view from your finished instillation, looking up and seeing the other side of the ring was a dream come true. Well done.
minecraft and halo go together so well for some reason
Dude, your builds are amazing and on another level. Literally haha. Being a Halo fan since 2’s release, and seeing you do these mega structures justice is just, words can’t describe how awesome it is to see so much passion for a game from my childhood. Awesome work and I can’t wait to see you do more.
Wow that is amazing the best build I’ve seen yet
its so satisfying watching all the terrain bend like that and slide into place. amazing work!
5:29
Didn't even get mentioned, but I love that you have a Lego Pillar of Autumn
The last couple of shots with the BGM really took me back to the moment I stepped out of the escape pod all those years ago in Halo CE for the very 1st time.
It's a very pleasant, but indescribable emotion. "Blinded by its majesty" is close enough.
I played halo with my dad while I was growing up, it willl always have a special place in my heart. I remember insisting on buying the halo texture pack on the XBox360 then exploring the built in map with him. Memories I will never forget, thank you for making me think of tose good times now past
Well done, man. I’ve been playing halo since the CE days and each structure built put a smile on my face
The music is so nostalgic, all these old structures bring a tear to my eye. So many good memories as a kids playing halo with my friends on the OG Xbox.
You should definitely try to build High Charity or Requiem next. That would be such an awesome build and I would watch an 11 hour video on you making them. You should also use the Distant Horizons mod for full shots of the ring as you'd be able to see the entire thing. Also, where the hell did you get that Pillar of Autumn lego set. I NEEEEED IT!!!
I think he already does use DH, you can see the chat message at 3:34 :)
Don't forget Etran Harborage and Onyx.
As a fan of Larry Niven’s Ringworld, this is an ambitious undertaking
a 1:100,000,000 scale model is pretty impressive yeah
to build a 1:1 model of niven’s ring, it would need to be 300,000,000,000 blocks in diameter, which is theoretically possible with mods.
Your dedication is insane man, glad to see it paid off this map is awesome
I could never, great job Sbeev! Wicked build!
This is awesome! Can you do some UNSC and Covenant ships in 1:1 scale? I would love to see those too!
“Men, we led those dumb bugs out to the middle of nowhere to keep 'em from gettin' their filthy claws on Earth. But, we stumbled onto somethin' they're so hot for, that they're scramblin' over each other to get it. Well, I don't care if it's God's own anti-son-of-a-bitch machine, or a giant hula hoop, we're not gonna let 'em have it! What we will let 'em have is a belly full of lead, and a pool of their own blood to drown in! Am I right, Marines?"
"Sir yes sir!"
"Mhm. Damn right I am"
Legendary. (in both meanings)
Hoo-rah!
@@Firefrab Now go DOUBLE TIME!
It's as well you didn't go for Larry Niven's Ringworld for scale... that one is truly insane. Heck, there's one ocean on it that _literally_ has multiple worlds re-created as islands at a 1:1 scale, at least as a Mercator projection.
Was a brilliant series.
I'm really impressed! It looks amazing! Great job!
Watching the terrain being bent was SO SATISFYING!!!
My best recommendation for you to do for next time for something like this? Replace all water blocks with a solid block (like blue concrete) and replace said concrete with the water later after you've layered on all the barrier blocks.
That's actually insane... And you merged two of the most iconic games together i have ever played... Hats off man ❤️
Theres a shader that warps your vision to make it look like youre in a concave world such as a ring world, for playability, such shader would make a project like this quite extraordinary.
my first thought was this too, along with a teleport to reset you for a full loop. And i imagine its possible to code something to mirror blocks placed at a certain distance from the seam so teleporting doesnt change what you see
my fav part was you recreating the control room exterior, it looks so good with the snow particles
Love how much work and dedication you put into your videos!!! Your stuff deservs so many more veiws!
This was something I’ve been curious about for the longest time, thank you for proving that it’s possible. 🙂
i don't even play minecraft anymore, but the attention to detail and the music choices in this video were so high that i felt compelled to hit the like button and sub. insane work. really fine detail.
Fascinating, I’ve been looking into building a ringworld for an outer wilds map for a while. That gravity mod could come in handy!
For your world edit problem with all the holes you can get the filled in but using a half way increment, for example you create 2 hollow cylinders //hcyl 10 stone and //hcyl 11 stone, you can do //hcyl 10.5 stone to fill in the holes
This brings back memories of me playing Minecraft with the Halo Bundle Pack on the 360, kinda making me want to go back and play it.
absolutely EPIC!! Minecraft continues to be a paradise to build whatever your heart desires and you took the cake! :D Amazing work!
BRO DID NOT JUST BUILD A WHOLE HALO RING, YOUR PC GONNA BE THE NEXT NUCLEAR WAR
As a(n) 3D artist it is very satisfying to see those alignment montages.
Wow i didn't expect minecraft builds to get THIS massive, and this video is just 11 minutes long.... You have my respect 💪
Man. Its awesome! Im a big Halo fan since 2001. And a big minecraft fan since 2019. I love this :D
Proceeds to build something super cool, but almost entirely in a monotone voice. I love it!
This build is ridiculously awesome 👊
The view from standing in the halo and seeing it extend upward and around your head from far away is incredible
Quando eu penso que sou maluco criando meus mundos, vem alguém como ele e me supera! Parabéns pela sua dedicação!
You could potentially use command blocks and a mod like Additional Placements to place pressure plates vertically and then trigger the gravity change automatically so that you can run around the ring without stopping.
dude I love what you're doing with these Minecraft adaptations of Halo megastructures. I got Halo CE thrown at me when I was 3 and I've loved the franchise ever since, and also loving Minecraft these are just incredibly cool to see.
High Charity and UNSC/Covenant ships when?
As an OG halo fan, Youll NEVER get it to scale properly in minecraft but the effort and the result definitely earned my sub.
Cheers dude
This is one of the most insane thing I have seen in the year, Damn man. This is awesome. The level of detail is just crazy.
Did you know you can adjust the lod chunks brightness in distant horizons in-game settings? That may fix the terrain being too bright when using shaders
bro built elysium
First video I see you! Earned my sub and like...keep up the amazing work
Wow, glad you did this!
you took all that time to create the structure and this amazing video, but why not show it off more at the end? I feel like there wasn't enough of that considering the amount of effort you put in.
Dude we need 100 people survival videos on these Halo themed worlds. We should make the Spirit of Fire from Halo Wars and have that be challenge one.
Also maybe have Halo mods present too!
(Parasites mod can fit too.)
(Love your work, keep up the Halo stuff.)
its 1.18.1 tho 😔
This is an awesome build.
Wouldn't this megastructure be considered a Bisop Ring or a Banks Orbital rather than a a (Niven) Ringworld, which would surround a star?
It's a Halo from Halo
Great Job!! It ended being amazing!!
man just hearing the music you were playing in this brought back memories. 2007 XBOX 360 Playing Halo 3 with my cousins. then again 2010 Halo Reach playing with my friends on XBOX for the first time. hearing those iconic Halo Sound Tracks
go back a few versions and use starminer
This is possibly the coolest thing I've ever seen in Minecraft! I can't believe I haven't heard of your channel before! You've earned a loyal subscriber!
Insanely cool, what an awesome achievement of a build!
I have never seen anything like this done in Minecraft. I'm sure you already know that you have made all OG Halo fans super happy to see this. :)
I love how much of a Halo fan you are, this was glorious!
This is beautiful. I almost shed a tear at the end bravo
This video is so good. I went into this expecting to be clickbaited but its actually all real. Makes me want to hop on minecraft and try build stuff myself tbh
Wow, this is incredible.. Really well done !!
I thought this would be cool, but man I didnt realize how sick this would be. so much work and it is so well done. good stuff man.
I never knew anything like this existed, truly opened my mind lol.
So impressive man!
THIS IS SO SICK!
GREAT JOB DUDE
Just the sheer size of this build is unfathomable, and the halo music was a nice touch as well
Subscribed!! Loved this!!
This played a part in me wanting to plat Minecraft again. Phenomenal work!!
I’ve never played Halo but I’ve read Larry Niven so it’s surreal hearing the music while looking at the Ringworld. Incredibly cool (and I need to play Halo now)
What a cool project, it felt satisfying seeing the terrain fit within the circle
The terrain bend timelapses are incredible.
Seriously impressive. Kudos!
Great work! Very impressive.
I’m blinded by its majesty. Well done! Thank you for your hard work. 😊
This is the most impressive build I have ever seen, earned a sub for sure.
This is absolutely amazing!
Thats not just a "ringworld"....thats....a Halo....Aah goood to see people apreciateing Halo and giveing it the care and respect it deserves
Beautiful. Simply beautiful, incredible technique
This is awesome, brings back OG Halo feels.
I remember how we had a debate about how big the ark was and spent doing math. I wish i could meet those guys again. Great video though and amazing work on the installation!
This is so cool, and those tools are so cool. I was hoping there would be tools to multiple blocks at a time I never knew you could bend them and stuff. I realise minecraft is cooler than I remembered.
seeing someone use my favorite gimmick mod really made my day tbh, great build and great mod choice
