Love you man ❤️ I watch many wood turning videos, it helps me sleep and calms me down but your channel is by far the best! Not only do you create awesome things but you add your personality to the videos as well 😀 keep it up! This channel has so much more to give. Much love, TwinCoconuts ❤️
Hi Nick, I love the egg. The colors and grain are beautiful. I really liked the audio on the new camera but I do understand all the extra work that goes along with getting the improvements from the new camera. Thanks for making and sharing the video, Jim
This new one #2 is way better than new one #1, though with all the "nightmare" probably not worth it over the old one. This one displays colors very well and does a superb job of filming your skin. Contrast is still a bit high but not unusable and probably tweakable. Sound quality is great. Look forward to seeing how the one Silent Awareness suggested works, hopefully it's not as hard to get onto your PC. As for the project - glorious. And that disk you cut it off from with the rebate would make a really pretty pendant, you could make it into a doughnut or something if you need another quick project.
I had a Nathan that did something similar to hook me into resin casting. His actual name is Alex Krause from Make My Day TV. People in this community are so generous. That egg turned out fantastic. I didn't realize that Easter was this week until a few days ago when I was asked to volunteer at Church. Ooops. Also! Congratulations on the 80K another notch in the belt. 6 weeks until Makers Central!!! I purchased my tickets Tuesday. So excited.
The detail and colour rendition on this camera is better than the other too, and the sound from the external mic is much better than the sound that came from the last camera.
Hi Nick, love, love, love your work/art. First off, your wife is a saint, she hardly gets to see you between work and all the unpaid work you do in the woodshed. Secondly, if you get bored, yea right, cut the egg in half irregularly, add pretty little hinges, hollow it out to very thin walls so they are nearly transparent or if possible all the way to transparent and make something itty bitty and weird/unusual to set inside of it, just like a modern version of the real Faberge eggs. You're welcome.
Love this egg project. I'm just starting on my first colouring pencil resin bowl. Not sure if it will work or not... Your new camera is a lot crisper but does struggle to focus quite a lot during the video. You have a fantastic channel, the projects that you have inspired me to try different things with my wood turning. I look forward to seeing what you upload next.
Had a neighbor who was a farmer get pissed because I planted a Buckeye in my yard next to his field. The buckeyes, while pretty are toxic. Silly of him though as he never kept cows in that field. It was strictly for crops and the tree wasn’t close enough to drop them even into the field. And yes, this was in Ohio and yes, I still live in Ohio though no longer on that property.
I am a film student and out of all the cameras I've had the gh5 is the best one for what you do. 60fps in 4k and the slow mo is like butter. Great for vlogging as well. I watch you all the time and always said I wish that was on the gh5 so I decided to comment. Have any questions hit me up.
Nick Zammeti NZ WoodTurning panasonic gh5. I would send a link but they will mark me as spam but RUclips it or Google panasonic gh5. You won't need another camera for at least five years. The only you will ever need is lenses depending on how far you wish to go. Also as far as editing which program are you using? I use final cut pro x but I will say be mindful of your white balance, when you are under bright lights because you are lighter toned than say I am turn your iso down so you aren't blown out (really bright or hot in some areas) and in editing put a bit more contrast in it and it will make your videos pop dramatically especially with all the beautiful colors you use. Feel free to email me and I can send you a list of things to check out and I'm always available to help. You help me more than you could ever imagine. I have very bad anxiety attacks and for some reason your videos REALLY calm me down so anything I can do to help please feel free. My email is: smgmiami@hotmail. Com
Nick Zammeti NZ WoodTurning check out my channel and look at even the intro video, that's all gh5 (make sure you put it on 1080p when viewing for best quality) it's a brilliant camera.
hey thanks so much buddy this is a huge help dude. Ill look up this camera. and try out these adjustments on the next video i edit . thanks man and im glad you enjoy the videos. i also suffer with anxiety .
Nick Zammeti NZ WoodTurning no problem. If you go to my channel check out a few of my spins. My audience tells me it helps them with anxiety ❤️ keep up the great work and don't hesitate to ask if you need help with anything.
Great project! It came out beautiful! While the picture quality is great on this new camera, the auto focus on your iPhone is clearly better... Three lighting angles will make a bigger difference than a high end camera... I really appreciate all of the effort you go through to bring us great videos!
A light ring (aka beauty ring) would cover all 3 and it is a lot smaller and portable then 3 lighting rigs. Lighting would be all i would recommend upgrading. Everything else is steller!
Lovely!! I hope that you saved the little foot thing that you cut the egg off of and used it as a lid or something! It had a ton of pretty colors in it!
Hey Nick, I'm a newby. Just discovered your videos and am really enjoying them. You are a very funny guy who creates and experiments with the best of them. Keep on keepin' on.
Great job on the "EGG" love it! Nick go into camera settings & set the record-setting to 1080P or 720P to make the files smaller while keeping the quality up there. Most RUclips videos are shot at 720P! The sound is great, but you could boost the front high/low angle lighting. If you have too much overhead lighting behind you it makes the recesses on your face look darker, like around your eyes because the camera is reading all the light behind you. That's why they always say to take pictures with the sun at your back when shooting portraits!
That was Buckeye burl. Buckeye is the state tree of Ohio! Which is in the northern United States. Just a FYI. Many blessings to you. That Easter egg was really pretty! Happy Easter to you Nick, and to your family!
I like the egg, the new camera is good as well, clearer and better contrast as well as better sound. The huge files are down to you, if you don't need 4k, don't shoot in 4k.
When you are standing in front of your board and waffling, your eyes are very dark. Don't know if it is the camera or if it is because you have a light directly above your head. Anyhow, the egg is absolutely beautiful!
Always love your work Nick. Watch your videos every chance I get. Would love to see you make a candy dish for my mom out of blue resin, it is her favorite color and would make her a good bday gift. 😀
Haha as a photographer I gotta say that it’s a small canon, the 5D Mk3 is a big canon and will produce a clearer image but also comes down to lens choice as that EFs lens wouldn’t work on a 5D. But love the results with this one and as always the work you produce! I think it would be a nice cane topper.
Hi Nick. Crackin vid as always. Don't know if this will help with the focusing, but, if the focus sensor is set to middle of the frame, then when ur trying to do the awesome close-up bits, I've noticed that the object ur using is often outside of centre. With canon you can set which sensor you want it to focus with. Hoping this helps ya, sorry if it's just stuff you already know. 😁😎 all the best, see you in a month!! Aagghh! So close!
Hi Nick. Well The new camera is about 2 or 3 percent better at times, the sound is 15 percent better, but the old camera will focus in faster and clearer when you bring something in. So overall if it was me I would not spend the money on the new one. Nice egg project today. Thanks and see you on Wednesday next week. Bob Blood from Kent England.
Beautiful!! Yup, Fabergé is pronounced "Fahberzhay," just like you said 😀 I lived in St. Petersburg way back when, and got to see some Fabergé creations. Yours looks gorgeous!
Hi there. New subscriber here. Just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying your vids. I'm not 'turner' myself yet but planning to fit out my shed with all the necessary kit in 18 months as my plans for semi retirement. I've learned so much from you about tools and techniques. Very tempted to attend Makers Central, but fear it make my wait that much harder. Keep up the good work.
Hey Nick, you deserve every subscriber to you're channel , wonderful stuff, keep it coming and good luck with the show, great entertainment as always , Cheers. P.S the Canon makes you look younger.
Hello, you look and sound great. I say, go with your gut. Enjoy your channel, find it very relaxing, and your pieces are cool. I too work with wood, but never turned a thing. Thanks for sharing
Nick the new camera has little better picture but not a whole lot. The best thing you could do is get a couple lights and put them behind the camera shining on you and the work piece when your displaying it. Other than that everything is good. Nice egg, Ill have to give it a go also.
Old camera has better "softening" than the new camera. New camera has better audio, if you can adjust the settings to not be as overly sharp on the new camera, id say go with that one. With the new camera your facial features/mostly eyes seem too harsh/dark with the lighting. I'd play around with the camera settings and shop lighting to see what works best for you. Not sure if it is the camera or not, but your lighting looks to be on the yellow side, maybe try making it a more softer white? It could help with the harsh settings of the new camera.
Really enjoying all your videos Nick. It's definitely spurred me on to try my own wood turning soon. I'm booking myself on to a wood turning course near me. All the best, Lee.
Hi Nick - could we see your sharpening machine in action please? Your videos are inspiring, entertaining and damn cool - thanks for doing them! Clive (NZ)

So agree. :)
I'm watching this in 360p and the close ups of your project are waaay better than normal. Beautiful piece.
I like it when you waffle on Nick! I love your videos and your amazing talent of turning everyday items into clever, useable stuff!
Those shades of colour... that shiny polished look... AWESOME!!!
Hi Nick,
I love the egg. The colors and grain are beautiful. I really liked the audio on the new camera but I do understand all the extra work that goes along with getting the improvements from the new camera.
Thanks for making and sharing the video,
Jim
I collect marble and alabaster eggs, but I would totally add that beauty to my collection!
Nick, that is freaking amazing! Both the blank from Nathan and your work. I love it!
I love your projects. Thank you for the videos. You make life alittle easier to get through.
That blue and green resin with that wood is so dynamic. Sharper image on camera 2. New camera 📸. 🇺🇸
I'm obsessed with opals and this looks like opal! Beautiful!
By far the best looking Faberge Egg. Love how the colors really make the burl wood stand out. Great job Nick!
It's a lovely piece of resin and you have made it into a great Easter Egg.
Thanks
James
You are an absolute goof!!! I truly enjoy your videos. That is a beautiful “egg”. Keep up the fantastic work.
That is an amazing piece of wood and resin. Looks fantastic! I think the old camera is clearer and brighter.
This new one #2 is way better than new one #1, though with all the "nightmare" probably not worth it over the old one. This one displays colors very well and does a superb job of filming your skin. Contrast is still a bit high but not unusable and probably tweakable. Sound quality is great. That egg is just beautiful. Gorgeous piece of work.
The video was definitely a lot more crisp and sharper than before nick. Another stunning piece mate
I had a Nathan that did something similar to hook me into resin casting. His actual name is Alex Krause from Make My Day TV. People in this community are so generous. That egg turned out fantastic. ManCraftingTM I met you and Alex at the Atl woodworking show. He gave me some stuff too. Super nice guy.
Yet another nice piece. And I have to say that was a sweet piece of wood that Nathan used in the resin.
The detail and colour rendition on this camera is better than the other too, and the sound from the external mic is much better than the sound that came from the last camera.
Great video! The colors of the egg sort of looks like the earth is hatching out of it. Looks awesome.
hah thanks buddy . have a cool weekend brother
Agree with TwinCoconuts - love watching your vids. Nathan's box of blanks was awesome and you have produced another superb piece.
Fabulous eggy , love the colours, well done again Nick your a 🌟
Hi Nick, love, love, love your work/art. First off, your wife is a saint, she hardly gets to see you between work and all the unpaid work you do in the woodshed. You're welcome.
Love the egg!! I really enjoy your videos and projects. Thanks for sharing.
I like the new camera! but I don't think it made too much of a difference. better sound. honestly I think you just need better lighting.
hey thanks Kesley . you take care . all the best
I love watching your channel, metalic powders in resin would look beautiful, or even metalic eyeshadows 😄
Just found your channel and I've been binge watching the last few days. Awesome work!!
Buckeye burl. (Wood with cancer)... Horse chestnut tree...native to Ohio😀
Didn't know it was a horse chestnut. We moved to Ohio a few years back and my God, the amount of buckeye references is impressive.
GO BUCKEYES
Had a neighbor who was a farmer get pissed because I planted a Buckeye in my yard next to his field. The buckeyes, while pretty are toxic. Silly of him though as he never kept cows in that field. It was strictly for crops and the tree wasn’t close enough to drop them even into the field. And yes, this was in Ohio and yes, I still live in Ohio though no longer on that property.
We have horse chestnut in the uk, it’s a conker tree, maybe not the same, I dunno
Ur awesome guy!!! I just found ur channel and I am inspired!! I subscribed and also have been watching some of ur other videos. Don't ever stop.
hey thanks so much , this is amazing to hear . take care u x
Wow! Beautiful work... I'd love to find that in my Easter basket!
Worth the wait nick great project and proves how committed you are to your channel.
thanks so much dude

Hi Nick, as usual beautiful work. No matter which camera is better, your videos are the best :). I wish you happy Easter.
Oh I absolutely love this piece!!! It's beautiful!!!!!
thanks Sherry . take care
That green in there looks really awesome. Great job.
So it may be 1am, and maybe I was going down a rabbit hole... But this channel is great! Glad to have watched!
Great video Nick. Audio was out sinc. After you went back in the shop.
Picture quaility was much better with 2nd new camera
The new one is great for details! That egg is awesome!
Lovely!! I hope that you saved the little foot thing that you cut the egg off of and used it as a lid or something! It had a ton of pretty colors in it!

Tracy Keaton - watching this from the Buckeye State right now!!!!
Ohioan here! That egg was gorgeous! So happy to see buckeye wood to turn into something so beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful, love it, stunning. 💜
I like the egg, the new camera is good as well, clearer and better contrast as well as better sound.

Always love your work Nick. Watch your videos every chance I get. Would love to see you make a candy dish for my mom out of blue resin, it is her favorite color and would make her a good bday gift. 😀
As allways, wonderful video! The new camera gives the clearest picture (imo) and detail. Love from Norway
Looking good on the new cam great little project
thank you Paul mate

Nice egg KIWI.... the clarity and sharpness is very nice on the eos 7D
Absolutely stunning egg!
I like the camera alot! Also I just love everything you make!!!!!!!!
Wow...you have a gift making amazing projects.
The 2nd new camera seemed to lack the focusing more than ur old one but colour wise the new one was a little better
That turned out so cool Nick! Love the burl and resin mix. Sorry to hear about the video footage issues, that's frustrating
To me they are both the same Nick. The egg is stunning and fantastic.

Buckeye Burl is one of my favorites to use. Nice job!
From Texas
That’s my dream camera 😭❤️ I’m so jealous!! It looks beautiful! I’d turn the exposure down the smallest bit 💕
Tried the same thing with our Nikon, nope back to the old Galaxy S6, Nice piece Nick.
The egg is beautiful. I liked it on it's original base too.
i like the sound on the new camera, its much clearer sound, the picture is about the same if not slightly better on the new camera also.
Beautiful!! Yup, Fabergé is pronounced "Fahberzhay," just like you said 😀 I lived in St. Petersburg way back when, and got to see some Fabergé creations. Yours looks gorgeous!
The new camera capture seems a bit darker than the old one and it look like it's slow to focus too. Awesome work as usual.

Great job again Nick. Stick with your old camera but I do appreciate the effort you go to. You don't need
To change anything. Cheers mate
Another b-e-a-utiful piece nick!
Hey Nick, you deserve every subscriber to you're channel , wonderful stuff, keep it coming and good luck with the show, great entertainment as always , Cheers. P.S the Canon makes you look younger.
As usual, very informing and entertaining. Good job.
Love that egg!! Seriously, dude, you are the bomb!
That egg is beautiful! ❤️❤️❤️
That would have been a really cool looking doorknob as well. Very unique and funky lol
Stunning egg Nick, another great vid. Happy Easter and new cam is better quality !
really cool egg looks like the planet we enjoy your humour the old camera
Beautiful! Great job to u and nate!
Hello, you look and sound great. I say, go with your gut. Enjoy your channel, find it very relaxing, and your pieces are cool. I too work with wood, but never turned a thing. Thanks for sharing
Really pretty egg! I would love to be friends with Nathan too!!! Those blanks are very cool.
Nice egg Nick. Cool blank that Nathan same to you LOL. I still like the old camera better. Thanks for the videos

Hi Nick - could we see your sharpening machine in action please? Your videos are inspiring, entertaining and damn cool - thanks for doing them! Clive (NZ)
Cool looking egg , take care my friend have a great day.
Love it Nick it’s stunning
thank you Sarah x
Looks like a type of stone. Ama-za-zing!
This camera makes everything look darker. But your video is still fun to watch, keep up with the great video's.
Laughing at “old” , “new”…… feel like I just went to the eye doctor!!
Your humor is awesome ❤ 😂😊
Another Great Video Nickster! Much Love Brother! Have A Super Week!.....Gus
Hi Nick! Been watching your videos for a few weeks now and I must say that they are mesmerizing, and pretty calming. Also funny sometimes to watch. I think you are a very nice and talented person.
I personally would love to try turning to create something but I wouldn't be able to afford/store all the tools for it haha.
I'm a 20 y/o girl from the Netherlands btw.
Oh if you take on ideas about what to make I had an idea since I absolutely love the ocean blue resin.
What I had in mind was a cookie jar/pot made with the spikey wood and the ocean blue resin and if it's possible to execute, with those colourful fake plastic fish on the sides so it looks like a fishbowl!
Anyway I think you're amazing and your videos are great.
Lots of love from me and my ferret. ^^
I love the way you come up with things to do I wish I was there so I can learn from you. PS if you get to much gift feel free to send some my way LOL Thank you for all your videos.
To clear up last statement it was quite a beautiful piece and a lot of work for him to produce as it is .
Love the egg!! LOVE your videos!
The Yorkshire Grit gag never gets old!
