While I fall in the camp of probably liking it more as a bowl or even a lamp, I didn't subscribe to your channel to watch traditional/repetitive projects. I'm sure I speak for many when I say we appreciate you scratching the itch to do something a bit odd. Keep up the great work!
If he made it a lamp and then he could send a hidden hollow rod up the pennies for more support and the cord too. I think the lamp shade could be another project?
Love molding at casting things. So much easier for hands and faces and things. Also I went to school for props in the US and we did some epoxy pour projects for fun. One minute and 5 minute epoxy are great for those types. It is both an upside and a downfall that it hardens so quickly but you may want to give it a try.
Don’t apologize for some ppl not liking it. Just do your style!! You’ll never please 100% of people so you shouldn’t feel bad for that and it’s nothing to apologize for. I love this!! Wish I would’ve seen it back when you did it so I could get it!! Anyway, great job!!!
The hand is great! The project is great! Don’t worry about what everyone thinks-you’re creating for you -not to please the whole world. It’s very clever and one of a kind. 👍👍👍
As a novice carver (been doing it for 4 years now), watching someone as skilled in woodwork as you struggle was both funny and humbling. Thank you for the acknowledgement that us carvers are a unique but skilled bunch, and I hope my first attempt at resin pouring goes half as well as your carved hand. PS. Hands are one of the hardest things you could attempt! Kudos sir.
The flat side of the bowl works well for it to be back against the wall....one thought, you could of placed one of your monikers within the falling pennies and then placed a penny beneath the pot in its place....... Great video Nick, well done mate. 👍🏼😊
I like that you tried to make your vision come to life and didn't just make it a bowl! It actually has a unique non perfect look that I enjoyed and like!! Not everything we create will be exactly as envisioned! Love it!
Carving a hand for your very first carving project was really bold. I can’t even draw a hand. So carving seems impossible. Loved the grain in that bowl. Quit spectacular.
What people forget are the bends/creases in our individual fingers. They're not completely straight, that's where people mess up. Honestly once you realize that.. hands are easy :)
Nick, next time try putting wood shavings and resin inside a rubber or latex glove then mold it to the shape you want.....see if that works making a hand. I happen to love the rustic look of this entire piece. There it is and as the Stones would say, "I LIKE IT".
Great! I can't take the credit. I saw another person do it using little ball bearings to make a set of hand bookends. Those turned out amazingly well and looked like real hands. That guy put a small ball in the hand and shaped it hand around it. One for each piece of wood he attached them to. That's also a very good idea and lets you shape the fingers like they're holding something. Can't wait to see how this turns out Nick. By the way, I'm a little old lady, but I loved the dude comment. Love watching your videos also!
I looked this up so you could watch this guy make his. Hope you enjoy. I was wrong about the ball in the hand...but you might try that with yours. I'm awaiting your project with bated breath!!
I just found your channel yesterday. Love your strangeness and your creations! Makes me want to break free and use my creativity. Who cares what anyone tells you or me about what we should or shouldn't create!!!! That's what art is all about. Once I wrote an essay named "Coloring Outside the Lines". Before adopting our girl, I was attending night school. Took this English class where we had to write essays (but inside I really just wanted to be a mom). I remembered back to my childhood where my dad and sister were always critiquing my artwork. It made me feel shy about being creative. So as I was in this English class I thought this: when we do adopt I will do my best to encourage my child to be free with their artwork and be confident in their talents. Now my daughter is 16 and is drawing on-line for commissions. I'm near retirement and just itching to start a whole new era. Sculpting, sketching, writing, ceramics, anything I want to do. Some of these I've done before, but mostly put on hold while raising my girl. So I said all this to tell you that watching you create is making me want to do it as well. Thanks!
I love it. Experimenting is what leads to some of the most interesting art, discoveries, and adventures in life. You come up with some very interesting ideas. I enjoy that about your channel.
totally bonkers and I love it. couldn't stop laughing when I noticed five fingers... had to check my own hand to make sure! 😂😂😂😂 loved it. keep calm and stay weird
200 years from now: "I think the artist was trying to portray the economic struggle of society and how it has an emotional impact on generations" Meanwhile: *I got an idea and that's all that matters*
I'm almost 9 minutes into the video but I just have to say, the grain and finish on this wood is gorgeous! And the bark showing through gives it a rustic antique feel. Like something you'd see in a western mountain lodge.
Oh no, not something weird and different! ( < - - sarcasm). Nick you wouldn’t have so many fans if you were normal. And you do unique very, very well. Love it!
Hey nick, You could make a slot inside the coins connecting to an hollow inside. Than you could put a drawer inside the weird flat side so you whould have a fancy moneybox to put your pennys in instead of a simple glas.
I thought something similar, hollowing that beautiful block out to make a money box, either with a slot in the side, or on top between pennies. It would make a gorgeous charity collection box to have on the table at events. Didn't think of it until you were too far into the project to have put the block back on the lathe, though. Might try something similar, I keep finding bags of pennies all over the place, and it would be much more fun making something like that than trying to get a shop to take that much change.
Nick !..you mad man... I'm from the future and part of you 583,000 subscribers..and just to let you know..your flux capacitor works !..lol... So tickled to see you've incorporated the cottage crafters ' floating tea-cup !...yep...We have used various floating containers pouring into many other various containers and I will now make something similar to your "Hand of Many Pennies" for this upcoming St Patrick's Day ..😊... So waffle on Nick..we all love you and your crazy enthusiasm...oh..we also loved your modeling of your belt buckle..👍😉...🌿🌿🌿
I'm seriously addicted to your videos. I've recently gotten into power carving and doing some pallet projects. Now I'm seriously considering getting a lathe. I've seen some suggestions in comments but I think your projects are perfect every time. Unique, one of a kind and interesting. I would, if I may like to request just the slightest bit more detail on some of the sanding tools and more instructive type of videos but that's just me being selfish and trying to sneak a long distance apprenticeship.
I absolutely love this. My older brother who passed away a few years ago loved to collect pennies. So to me this is a beautiful reminder of my late brother. I love the funky stuff too.
Chubbs would be happy to wear that wooden hand my friend 😁 your skills are amazing bro and love your videos. Amazing teeth for an Englishman 😬❤ oh and you got yourself a new subscriber. Keep up the excellent work
Nick I love how your brain works, outside the norm! That hand is hilarious, it looks like Thing's hand from the FANTASTIC 4 movies, but I love it! Great job as usual! Cheers Sean
I like it, you can't always make a bowl or vase. I love the darker areas too & I'm glad you left it too. The flat edge is a good idea like someone before me said to set it against the wall or even mount it on the wall, like a Waterfall (pennyfall) feature! Not to mention, it's TOTALLY YOU! Great job!
I would just like to say i enjoy your channel very much, not just for your projects, they are very beautiful and unique, but mostly you make me laugh. I can be having a bad day and watch your channel and it cheers me right up. Hello, from OHIO, USA
Hello Nick, I am from the "Land of Enchantment" - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. This piece will fit perfectly here in my area of the world. AWESOME piece.
Not gonna lie was really relieved when you noticed the extra finger...I had kept repeating to the screen, "But it's got 6 digits! Why 6 digits!!??" I LOVE it! It is Brilliant!
I started watching your channel in February 2021 and find it fascinating! I love the wood turning and watching a slab of wood turn into something gorgeous. The Hand of Many Pennies is a cool project and yes, maybe a bit weird, but that's a good thing! By the way I am female and I live in Minnesota, USA. Keep up the good work!

Deborah Langley Honestly, I didn't know if he owns a 3d printer or not. I was just repeating what he said to another commenter. 😁 But thanks for letting us know!
I've been watching your channel lately, getting ideas. My wife has been encouraging me to get back into wood working also. I'm off to find my first lathe...
You’re a riot, man! An animated looking organic piece of art. The 5 finger discount! 😂 Love your creativity and the fact your not afraid to push your creativity in all sorts of directions. Great channel!
even tho the hand isnt perfect, and it was your first time, i actually really like it. i love it honestly, its not perfect and thats what makes it so unique. i actually even really loved the extra finger at the beginning. at first i was like, uh nick, why havent you noticed that yet? but the more i thought about it the more i liked the idea of it being messed up making it so unique. i love how this project turned out, really
I know this is now an older er... "build" (?)... but I've been enjoying everything you make and I love it. As an artist who hasn't done ANYTHING in the last few years your videos do inspire me... despite having no real ability to act on that desire. Love all the Artistic pieces ou make.
Watching this verse your newer videos you've gotten way better over the years this is still beyond what I could do as a person that doesn't even own a lathe yet lol
Nick, I love it! I think it is wonderful that you go out of your way to make different, funky, weird things. Also, I know it's nearly a year and a half since you released this video, but you released it on my wedding anniversary, so, that's a plus. Also, for your first time carving something, it's perfect. I also am very impressed by people who carve things. Keep up the good work. EDIT: I didn't notice the extra finger until you pointed it out.
Me and my 6yr old daughter were watching your video and when you said you don't really like it she loudly says "but I love it! All the pennies are awesome😍"
While I fall in the camp of probably liking it more as a bowl or even a lamp, I didn't subscribe to your channel to watch traditional/repetitive projects. I'm sure I speak for many when I say we appreciate you scratching the itch to do something a bit odd. Keep up the great work!
Agreed!
Yes! He's fascinating to watch.
If he made it a lamp and then he could send a hidden hollow rod up the pennies for more support and the cord too. I think the lamp shade could be another project?
Let's go back to weird camp NZ
Nick, this piece is as quirky as you are!! We love you exactly as you are!!! ❤️🤟🏻
Mold your hand in plaster and then use resin and wood shavings for the hand next time! Use a metal rod to support the pennies also.
Robin Duckett 🤗😜👍🏽
Great idea! I was thinking to use a manikin hand and spray paint it copper.
That's a great idea
Love molding at casting things. So much easier for hands and faces and things. Also I went to school for props in the US and we did some epoxy pour projects for fun. One minute and 5 minute epoxy are great for those types. It is both an upside and a downfall that it hardens so quickly but you may want to give it a try.
Doesn't plaster take a while to set?

Ok

Marc’s Fx OMG THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SUCH A GREAT IDEA!

ManCraftingTM hey thanks chad mate means a lot . Can’t wait to catch up again soon 🤗😜👍🏽
I feel hands are hard to do all around!
What people forget are the bends/creases in our individual fingers. They're not completely straight, that's where people mess up. Honestly once you realize that.. hands are easy :)
The six fingered hand reminded me of the movie The Princess Bride.
Carving a hand is easy, you just start with a block of wood and cut away everything that doesn't look like a hand :)
I really like that you allowed the wood to dictate the direction you took this piece. It's lovely.
Nick, next time try putting wood shavings and resin inside a rubber or latex glove then mold it to the shape you want.....see if that works making a hand. I happen to love the rustic look of this entire piece. There it is and as the Stones would say, "I LIKE IT".
ehhh OMG! this is a cool idea. Im on it now!!! cheers dude

Don't apologise Nick. It shows a unique mind at work. Love it
F Taylor hey thanks so much 🤗😜👍🏽
You did a great job on that piece of work Nick Zammeti. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. In all honesty I love all your work.
I love it. Experimenting is what leads to some of the most interesting art, discoveries, and adventures in life. You come up with some very interesting ideas. I enjoy that about your channel.
The wackyness of it makes it fabulously amazing and worth a special place to display,
totally bonkers and I love it. couldn't stop laughing when I noticed five fingers... had to check my own hand to make sure! 😂😂😂😂 loved it. keep calm and stay weird
I love the hand. it's sorta country folk art and/or abstract. I adore the finish product and hope you do more, using funky things.

Lol. I sometimes think that a LOT of "art" is over analyzed. Sometimes the creator is just randomly/freely going with the flow.
I'm almost 9 minutes into the video but I just have to say, the grain and finish on this wood is gorgeous! And the bark showing through gives it a rustic antique feel. Like something you'd see in a western mountain lodge.

CMTHFAF haha thank you very much . Your too kind Colleen ! 🤗🤗😜👍🏽 have s super weekend . #makerscentral
What’s this “NORMAL” you speak of?...
Nick I love your projects. Never know what your gonna get from your channel. Thank you.
Monkey paw grants money wish. I always enjoy your videos. : )
SixRavenEight /SMBW hey thanks 🤗🤗
You're welcome! You keep bringing the fun videos and interesting work and art , so thank you.
That's exactly what I was thinking.
I love the "Hand of Many Pennies"
I also love your funkyness and art styles. Do what you like and are inspired by I'll always like it.
lol great project Nick really enjoyed. had a massive laugh at 5 fingers. :-)
Highlandboxes haha lol me too 🤗😂😂
You're easily entertained aren't you.
@@TheresaPowers hi, my friend tell me that I'm easily entertained, I answer with "I know, I'm so blessed must be a bummer to be bored all the time"
I really love this piece. Very funky and artistic. Not just wood work. Awesome !!!
Nick brilliant, you could have concealed a rod inside the pennies from the hand to the bowl to give it strength. Keep waffling on we love it.
Nick probably has one of the coolest (and seemingly most naturally suited) intro and outro music tracks of any RUclipsr I follow.
Hey nick,
You could make a slot inside the coins connecting to an hollow inside. Than you could put a drawer inside the weird flat side so you whould have a fancy moneybox to put your pennys in instead of a simple glas.
syncRamon I liked the idea of the coins and hand being a lid to a pot.
I thought something similar, hollowing that beautiful block out to make a money box, either with a slot in the side, or on top between pennies. M Brgs cant you bring your pennies to a Bank and get paper for it in america? I do that once a year
Nick !..you mad man...

You killed my father, prepare to die!
I'm SO happy someone got the reference. XD
Man, I hope it's not that kid who's father I killed.......
Excellent reference!!
I absolutely love this. My older brother who passed away a few years ago loved to collect pennies. So to me this is a beautiful reminder of my late brother. I love the funky stuff too.

Well I do believe it turned out great. Crafting is a relief from stress to me. Love it. Pennies from Heaven.
🤣 5 fingers... Good stuff! Nice project dude!! 🤘👍
😂
That's a really nice piece let's everyone give this man to hand, Lol Awesome Job!
Nick I love how your brain works, outside the norm! That hand is hilarious, it looks like Thing's hand from the FANTASTIC 4 movies, but I love it! Great job as usual! Cheers Sean
The Bungling Woodworker I know right ! 🤗😂 have a great weekend
Nothing wrong with trying new ideas. Trying new ideas leads to better ideas in the future.
There it is! Its different that's why I love it!! 😂 ☝️✋
Make it Soph hey thanks so much Soph 🤗😜👌🏼 x
Amazing. I love that you show the whole process. The funky stuff is great!
Would make a great bank / money associated award Nick. Love the hand it resembles a Gorilla hand to me. Polydactily is interesting lol
Great job!
I like it - it reminds me of all the halfpenny projects we made back in 1984, when they went out of circulation.
BLOODY BRILLIANT, Love your ideas, nobody else does your type of thing. Ron
Got to HAND it to you Nick not a bad job.
dermot forte 😂😂😂
👏👏
I would just like to say i enjoy your channel very much, not just for your projects, they are very beautiful and unique, but mostly you make me laugh. I can be having a bad day and watch your channel and it cheers me right up. Hello, from OHIO, USA
reminds me of the colored pencil cup pour. Great Job Nick!
thanks mate
I love it. Nice combo of rustic and abstract art.
Very interesting Nick it turned out great, I personally dont have patience for carving so great job for first time my friend,
best wishes,
Afshin
Hello Nick, I am from the "Land of Enchantment" - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. This piece will fit perfectly here in my area of the world. AWESOME piece.
SOMEONE CALL BOBBY DUKE! We have a novice Carver on our... hand(s)😉😂
Not gonna lie was really relieved when you noticed the extra finger...I had kept repeating to the screen, "But it's got 6 digits! Why 6 digits!!??" I LOVE it! It is Brilliant!
Really cool idea, it looks great buddy!!
I’m always thrilled to see what comes up next. I’m a big fan. Thanks
Well done Nick. I like it. Shows your skills and your ability to be an artist in concept as well.
Missing58 thanks dude 🤗
Honestly if I had a yard with a little garden, I would absolutely put this in it like a funky little charm tucked into the wildflowers
Different for sure Nick, I actually like it! :)
Cheers
Mike
Mike Waldt haha thanks mike 😜🤗👍🏽👍🏽
super unique project and quite beautiful. even if it doesn't look exactly like a hand, it's spectacular!
Nick very cool.
Robert Kutz thanks Robert sir
I started watching your channel in February 2021 and find it fascinating! I love the wood turning and watching a slab of wood turn into something gorgeous. The Hand of Many Pennies is a cool project and yes, maybe a bit weird, but that's a good thing! By the way I am female and I live in Minnesota, USA. Keep up the good work!
Very cool mate. Cheers, Jim
Jimson's Stuff thanks buddy
Penny's from heaven.. very you ..as always nick love you projects warts and all. Keep up the great work.
I actually kinda like the hand. Not even kidding :p
Cristofer Urlaub lol cheers dude 🤗😜👍🏽
Whoop there it is and I love it. You do wild and crazy things. The wood is beautiful, and it made a great penny pot.
Love watching you work but sad I can't find any of these kool items on ya website.
I was like no, no,no...hollow out the bowl and then after you mentioned your idea for the money I was definitely intrigued. Great work!
You nutter! Loved it! 👍🍺
lol. cheers dude
I think this piece shows your personality more than the others I've seen. I love it!
And I'm strange too.. So I like unique pieces.
Always makes me nervous when he does a high speed time lapse on the band saw.
I love this piece. It's not strange it's unique and I love unique.
Why didnt you make the hand with your 3Dprinter?
Ship Creek I wanted to make it with my hands . Just makes it more difficult . Lol 🤗😜👍🏽
DONT WORRY Nick I really love it tyvm for sharing.
Well that made a change!? lol
McAVIT Yourway lol haha hope your well dude 🤗😜👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Your videos are my newest obsession! They are so entertaining. Great job
You should get a 3-d printer. Not everyone carves.
Then you're on the wrong channel. His (and plenty of other channels) are all about carving stuff out on a lathe (most of the time).
truly1676 He has a 3d printer. He just wanted to make this by hand. Also, not everyone is interested in 3d printing, either. That's why it's so fantastic that RUclips has such a variety of content creators! There's something for everyone. 😁
Laynie Fingers I don’t think he has one. He only borrowed one and is planning on getting one.
truly1676 I saw him answer someone two questions below your comment who asked why he didn't use his 3d printer, and he replied that he wanted to do it by hand. Regardless of whether he has a printer or not, he didn't want to 3d print it. *Shrug*
I've seen the different types that people have made, but yours is unique and quite good for a first time project. Good job brother!
You’re a riot, man! An animated looking organic piece of art. The 5 finger discount! 😂 Love your creativity and the fact your not afraid to push your creativity in all sorts of directions. Great channel!
absolutely love it compliments the old wood like a caveman hand and bowl putting pennies into a bowl
Absolutely awesome!! Not too shabby for your first wood carving project!
I could quite honestly see that as a decorative piece at a bank or something. I think it's great!
even tho the hand isnt perfect, and it was your first time, i actually really like it. i love it honestly, its not perfect and thats what makes it so unique. i actually even really loved the extra finger at the beginning. at first i was like, uh nick, why havent you noticed that yet? but the more i thought about it the more i liked the idea of it being messed up making it so unique. i love how this project turned out, really
Love the rustic feel of this piece!
I know this is now an older er... "build" (?)... but I've been enjoying everything you make and I love it. As an artist who hasn't done ANYTHING in the last few years your videos do inspire me... despite having no real ability to act on that desire.
Love all the Artistic pieces ou make.
I loved how unique is it and i admire your courage and your creativity 👍👍👍
I love to see artsy pieces from people who don't really think of themselves as artists
I absolutely love it, it would look grand on my mantle. Keep on keeping on.
I just figured it was Marie Antoinettes hand.....
I love it! Only change I would have made is make it into a proper pot for a change catcher. But keep the hand and the pouring pennies. So cool.
Me and my 6yr old daughter were watching your video and when you said you don't really like it she loudly says "but I love it! All the pennies are awesome😍"
I personally love it. I also seriously love watching you with the lathe.
I liked this so much! Even if it is kinda weird. And I think carving looks really hard, so I'm impressed by your hand!
Always good to try something different, looks great!
It looks like something you would see in a camp ground as a carving, it has that kind of look to it!
I just returned from the year 2500 AD in my time machine, that piece was a focal display in the Natural History Museum of London!
