Man once again you hit the target! Thank you for the awesome tutorial, I was really struggling trying to find some good way to bake texture to export. Thank you so much!
Saved the day! Thanks, Also people who need to make the displacement map can use the same method but remember the plane should be close to the surface and use "Instansity Center". Master, please update the video with all the maps :D
Thanks to you, I understand how to bake. But I have another question about the rendering: may I ask how you managed to get the mapping to follow the face of the gamepad perfectly? I use the box way, but it makes the model have seams.
wow! I didn't know you use Octane. I just subbed to watch some modeling videos. I switched from C4D to blender and I use Octane for Blender. So I hope I can learn something new about Octane from you. Great Video. Thanks man

So good, thanks for sharing again! Do you know if it's possible to create and bake an animated normal map, like bubbles sliding on a window for example?
Is there a way to get the actual 3 dimension pattern you did at the beginning of the video and apply it to the controller (versus just the map)? Thank you!
Awesome tutorial man! Could you please make a tutorial on baking the similar type of textures in Vray C4D? I'm really confused with adding normal map in Vray material in C4D. Thank you!
Thanks but there is gonna be no Vray stuff in near future but you can use the same baking methods and use the maps in Vray, there is not much difference.
Superb tutorial! But I'm stuck after creating Normal map. I''m using c4d 2024 + redshift. So in RS node mode, I tried to use the normal map>bump map, made the input map type to Tangent-Space-Normal, added RS object tag and turned on the override and displacement both. But, not showing in displacement 😥
Hey thanks for the nice tutorial. I have a small question. How could you achieve the same result as you did with the material but wrapping the pattern geometry instead ? Without deforming the pattern ? Is this possible with the shrinkwrap deformer ? Thanks a lot for your work.
Thanks. Unfortunately you can not use the pattern mesh with shrink wrap to project it on the controller, because shrink wrap has a limit, your object that will be projected ( with shrink wrap ) should have a similar shape to the mesh ( like thecontroller).
@@polygonpen Thanks for your response. So is there anyway of reproducing complex pattern like that around complex curved objects ? The same as you did with the material but with real geometry ?
You can do it but I think Zbrush or an alternative method would be faster and better, I didn't try something like that in C4D with poly/subD modeling techniques.
Hi Mert, thanks for that. I couldn't figure it out how to bake a normal/displacement with a couple of hierarched objects with subdivision surface applied to them. It seems you can only source a single mesh. Could you help me?
@@polygonpen That doesn't make sense, let's suppose we have a plan with several drops of sweat laid over it and we would like to bake them into a normal map texture. Applying a Connect object to the whole group doesn't allow me to source those objects.
@@Ricardo-de9ju For more advanced baking, you should try other programs, in C4D normal baking is very primative, I can get a good result only on planer objects with simple geometry or repetetive patterns.
Hi Kevin, I am still editing the Xbox controller tutorial, I should finish it in 3 days, I will put a trailer for it when I am done, you can get it from Patreon or buy it from Gumraod.
It does say "Could not allocate render space" to me, what exactly does it mean? I`m trying to export sphere with displacement modifier to another sphere, what am I missing?
Hey man, you're my Cinema4D teacher and when I play in the major leagues, I won't even forget to always reference and regard you. You're awesome ❤️
Thank you very much :)

Awesome :)
Perfect work!
Oh my gosh, what a great tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing this! 🔥
Thank you :)
Dude you are blowing my mind right now! Thank you so much for explaining that process! I've always wondered how 3D artists do that technique!
Thank you :)
I think this is the most valuable RUclips Sub I've ever done. Brilliant!
Thank you very much, welcome!
Wow, your tutorials are very, very practical. The methods you teach can be used in so many ways. Really appreciate your channel!
Thank you Eddie :)
Best c4d tutorials on RUclips!

Is there any chance you're able to show how to bake the Displacement map?
It would be very similar to what I did in this tutorial.
Excellent little trick, short and direct tutorial. Thanks!

Looking forward to the next tutorial.

thank you for this tutorial
Awsome dude, Awsome. Thank you so much
I mean, I thought baking should be done in Marmoset, but the tutorial itself is great!
And that controller definitely looks amazing!
Thank you :)
Really amazing technic!
brilliant
wish u showed an example on c4d itself or vray
thanks
Just put the texture in notmal map slot in any render engine's material, all same.

Yeah, Shrink wrap deformer might do it but it works in a 2D mapping style so it won't look that good.
Loved the beginner's tutorials. And looking forward for more. Any chance of doing more beginner's tutorials?

Thanks, sure thing but make sure to subdivide it a few times to get a smooth print.

Thanks, normal and displacement are completely different things though, this map only works for normals, for displacement, you need a different bake.

Yeah, ypu should make them a single object, just select them all and connect them, then you can ungroup them.

very cool. I also need to bake alpha, but i cannot bake. can you tell how to bake alpha?
I have never baked an alpha image before, I need to check that out.

It does say "Could not allocate render space" to me, what exactly does it mean? I`m trying to export sphere with displacement modifier to another sphere, what am I missing?
I have never seen such an error, maybe you need to apply the deformer to the object before baking, if this is what you are trying to do.
@@polygonpen I even merged model with the displacement modifier but same issue, any other ideas/solutions you could suggest me to do?
Just 10000 Wow
cool
топ контент! давай ещё!
bro my connect modifier just make the objects in one mesh and doesn't connect the points why is that happening?
Change the threshold value.
Can I leave an empty space in the texture to make it see through ? For example I am trying to make a Rattan texture
To do that, you will need an alpha map.
@@polygonpen Instead of the Normal Map ? With same technique?
@@talhazulqarnain2126 Yeah, same technique, just make the colors black and white, I mean make the mesh white and the background black.
@@polygonpen Thankyou so Much Much Appreciated.
@@talhazulqarnain2126 No problem
I can't creat material when I press Back.. What's the problem?
Can you explain more?
I followed this along with my own object but it will not bake onto the plane. I just get an completely purple square, no height mapping info at all
Sorry to hear that, try one more time, you may have missed a step.
How to make seamless?
It will be seamless if you use a square plane like 100 cm * 100 cm
Can you guide me how to subscribe to your Patron I have never done that before.
Well me neither :D I think you join my Patreon and then it asks for creadit card oe something like that.
