I would gladly pay $50-$60 for a well done 707 with a few liveries, a decent sound pack, and 2 or 3 variants. I'm such a fan of this airplane and this is a bit disappointing.
I believe Aerial Simulations is working on one.
Jonathan - thank you for this - as 89 y.o. who flew in this aircraft as his first jet flight 60 years ago - and only DC 4s and 6s - before that - it is very much appreciated - and in my book worth the $A15 I paid for it. Also - in my early sales days - we were taught that an item was not CHEAP - it was INEXPENSIVE - and that applies to this lady whose appearance shows her age - AH must have found it difficult to find a real 707 in pristine condition for photo purposes.
I am not an aficionado of flying tubes - and I thank MS for at least trying to give us an aircraft that is definitely in the
"now I can at least try a 707" - and actually fly something that is an aero plane as a pilot - and not as a train driver -on tracks - with a workload that requires 3 up front - and not one and a half pilots
Yes a near study level or study level A/C would be excellent and 35-45 sterling sounds fair, as an ex Flight Engineer on 707’ s this is some distance away from a genuine representation, accepted that the price is low a better version would be desirable in my view.
I wish Microsoft and Asobo had some sort of quality control system before allowing people to sell aircraft and scenery in the sim. The amount of pure trash for sale in MSFS 2020 is disappointing.
The new free trial / rent option in 2024 will sole that.
Shoddy, cheap, shovelware was so pervasive in the FSX days. It's no different now.
Jorg has apparently picked up on the poor feedback and said he’s going to go back to AH and ask them to sort it out
Nothing short of a complete remake will do, this is absolutely shit.
@@yowie69exactly. They need to cut all ties with them
They must have modelled the 707 from the airplane movie (its that bad). WHERES MY INFLATABLE CO-PILOT!
Thanks for the review, good job as usual, Jonathan. I would love a PMDG 707 but not even going to try this one even though it's cheap. I would rather buy a few expensive and very good aircraft (PMDG, Fenix and some Justflight... etc) than have loads of cheap aircraft that I fly once and never again.
Just to be clear, can anyone confirm that the Aerial Simulations 707 is not the same as Aeroplane Heaven 707 that is currently being released with the Aviator Edition of FS2024??
I've been waiting patiently for a proper 707. But apparently the AH version that releases with FS2024 is absolutely horrible.
If the AS-707 is different, when does it come out? Will it be as detailed as the PMDG models?
Cheers!
I'm growing tired of hearing "It's a cheap airplane, it's ok". It should work, full stop, no matter the price. Ofc its not going to be a super deep simulation with accurate systems throughout and require real life procedures etc. But everything that IS modeled should work. There is no excuse for a product to have as many flaws as this aircraft has when it is already been delayed for over 2 months! It seems to me that AH should not have accepted making such a complicated aircraft in the first place, should have know their own limits. Let me remind everyone that the excellent Latécoère 631 is the same price as this. (No I do not expect every LL or FF to be as good as the Latécoère 631, I just use it as an example of what is possible for the same price and therefore making the whole price argument null and void)
Well it is worth every bit of the $10. So now go spend your $10 at McDonald's instead of b****ing on here like a teenage girl
The love that went into the 631 was clear!
I agree. Everyone is being very polite. The fact that this a famous aircraft that people want doesn’t change the fact that this product is crap. I would have paid three times as much for a high quality version of this. You can’t fly the DC-6, or even the Constellation, and think this is great. I’m going to take my 10$ and put it towards the TBM 850 because at least I know what I’m getting. What this is really about is trust, not just money.
''Ofc its not going to be a super deep simulation with accurate systems throughout and require real life procedures etc'' ''But everything that IS modeled should work'' is an idioticly hypocritical sentance
@@SW-uy1krwhat's idiotic about it? For £8, a ton of the systems are not implemented, and that could be looked over, if the systems that *are* implemented would work as they should. And they don't. I've seen freeware add-ons done in less time that are better than this slop.
The radio sound control is on your left panel.
I flew it from Istanbul to Al-Alamein last night and I give it 2 stars.
Gross.
the sound going nuts at the start sums this add on up
GSX and Simbrief don't work and getting stairs up to the doors is impossible. Hope they get their shows on the road.
Low price should not be an excuse for low performance products. Seriosität simmers deserve decent airplanes. Period.
Makes Captainscam look awesome
To be fair the OG Captain Sim 707 was a very good aircraft, sadly they never updated it for P3D.
The texture of this plane seems very odd. The landing gear seems weird. But I would understand why this could go for 10 bucks. Maybe if microsoft chosed to work with pmdg or any other dev that creates great study level aircraft this plane would be perfect.
From watching other reviewers, they (and you) have all experienced the frame rate stuttering. Apparently its with the airplane as others were at less detailed airports while doing their reviews and you've all said the same thing.
The is only one step above the MSENERY KC-135.
No it's not either. I own both and that MSCENERY KC-135 is completely terrible. I've never been able to complete one flight, not a single flight with that 135. So do not even go there because the 707 is way better then that.
took a bullet there
Thx Jonathan. This is the first of a new Microsoft series called ”Famous Criers” I guess. This should be relegated to freeware until Aeropain Heaven gets their act together. This issue by them has probably destroyed their reputation with the community. How’s that working for you AH? Note to Microsoft…you need a quality control department. All the best Jonathan. Greg
AH has destroyed their reputation with the community a long time ago, they do not tolerate constructive critisism.
@@Nor0252 I have noticed that. They are strong and wrong…
Are you sure the issue is with the airplane? It would be good to check with other aircraft, if it can track the "missing" VORs.
It worked normally with radio beacons in my country. I am using FSX navaids and it even tracks NDBs.
Some other comments:
- It seems that the passenger cabin should not be accessed through cockpit camera, the horrible texture along with landing gear appearing points that it should just be viewed by outside.
- I understand your point about comparing it with iniBuilds but let's remember we have a high quality and functional ATR on the game costing pretty much the same.
- I had the same issue with the auto pilot not leveling off, but I am not blaming them for now as this may be just a skill issue.
- The contrast between the High Quality scenery and the low quality instruments panel when you were landing was horrible, try to watch it again.
- Let's hope they deliver a version with working CIVA INS and let's wait for fixes on the textures for this aircraft. Maybe in 1 year it will be decent to fly.
Is there a way to get aircraft like this for free?
Maybe you discovered why it is priced at ten pounds…
Seems like this plane should have auto start. For such a cheap plane
the FSS 727 is infinitely better than this. I have been looking forward to a 707 for a long time, and now I wish they'd jus used another developer. Aeroplane heaven should be ashamed...
Such an ignorant comment. Like comparing a base Mustang GT to a Lamborghini. Guess you don't factor in price point?
@@JohnWick-u2b I didn't mean it in the sense that it SHOULD be equal to the 727, but for microsoft to put their name to an addon, you'd at the very least expect textures that don't look 10 years old, or at the very least, have it functioning at the same level as all of the previous addons in the series. You assume my ignorance without bothering to consider my meaning. maybe next time don't start off being rude, Maybe then you won't need to remove your foot from your mouth
@@JohnWick-u2b Not an ignorant comment at all. This thing is not worth the money they are asking for it. Period, and I say that as one that has the Premium Deluxe version of MSFS20 so all the Local Legends and Famous Flyers are only $9.99, not the $14.99 others have to pay of them, and even at that price point this 707 is not worth it. There are literal freeware aircraft(fixed wing and helicopters) that blow this thing out of the sky. AH should be ashamed of themselves.
@@ImpendingJoker Not true on the freeware. Every freeware aircraft I downloaded was total trash and most do not even have a cockpit. From my experience most all freeware aircraft are not even worth my time to download. The FSX conversations are horrible broken garbage, all of them. Only good freeware airliner is FBW. So I agree with John, I spent ten dollars on the 707 and I have my fun with it not half as bad as people say.
I wonder what this airplane looked like when Microsoft rejected it. I'm not someone who has to have a study level product to be satisfied, but this aircraft looks like utter rubbish. I wish Airplane Heaven doubled the price instead of halving the quality.
Shockingly bad
load of rubbish if you ask me
