Nah dude I personally think you’re selling this one short, the squig looks excellent and is definitely of a higher quality than a lot of your other vids
I’ve been binge watching your vids for a couple of days. I’m really itching to try glayering and give more time to dry brush base coating. Love your work dude and the finishing touches are definitely not boring.
I recently found your channel, learning some very new techniques to me. I am returning to the hobby after 10 years away and found your videos very informative.
Thank you! I love grimdark, but I love vibrant colors. Now i am caught in between. Settling for high contrast painting instead. Thanks for watching! ☺️🎨🎨🎨
I just got my hands on a scale modeler magazine from late 2021 and you have an article on a mech build that was really interesting. It was funny because I read the whole thing in your voice! It was like I could hear you narrating it and I couldn’t help but keep smiling throughout the read.
Hahahaha Pat! My accent and squeeky voice reading you the magazine. I am working on a few more articles for Fine Scale soon. Just a bit focus on building up this channel. 😅🎨🎨🎨
Glad I found your channel over the weekend! Love glazing and it is how I like to paint. Looks like we see eye to eye! I have much I can learn from you! Subscribed!
This weekend I started painting an orc set for D&D with things you show on your canal, and the efects rock! ^^ Drybrush basecoat, and glazes for other parts did a great job, I'm after the wash, and tomorrow I will do higligshts with glazes :D The things you show here are 200% useful for home painting. Thank you for all your wok!
D&D! Me and my kids love playing D&D the most! For the highlights, add less medium and sketch the highlights, then you may soften the edges of the initial highlights with glazes ( 3 parts water or glaze medium and 1 part paint ). Cheers! Thanks for watching! ☺️🎨🎨🎨
It was great showing all the steps, even if its just a shorter clip. That way you don't miss out on anything. Not boring at all, interesting and good rather! I've been frustrated with glazing and so far only tried it with water. I will definitely be trying with glaze medium
So was I! I was sooo frustrated with glazing with water last year. Then I realized, what if I use mediums. Mediums were formulated and used by fine artists for a reason. Tada, I think I paint better now. I am definitely no longer frustrated. So much easier to glaze or paint when using mediums. ☺️
Huzzah,, not BORING at All! Much respect Sir. If this is as far as your ability can take you,, (currently), well then that's a good place to be. Best of patienced skill to you, and your channel.
Your techniques have been on point and make the most sense. It’s also really nice to have more Polynesian representation in the hobby. If u ever have a mentorship or classes open up I’ll b the first to jump on.
@@DonSuratos trust me they aren’t. I’ve had mad issues trying to use water. Time and time again and it wouldn’t work for me. I got a few different mediums from the only hobby shop in this state that carries artist grade paints for miniatures. I’ve been using them with the different techniques and they r actually clicking. Like seriously if u ever have any classes or a mentorship program imma jump on it in a hot sec cause I want to keep improving.
@@tonyr2006 Totally agree with the water. Watered down acrylics is such a waste of time in my opinion. So difficult to control and thinning is so unpredictable. Oh I do not have classes, but will put up Patreon videos soon. ☺️
Hey, just found your channel and wanted to thank you. Your videos are incredibly helpful and seeing how you do your finishing touches reassured me that I was on the right path, I also picked up a few of your tricks along the way. Thanks again!
I’m very happy with the length of this video as it provides more details and insights about your painting process and techniques. I think I’ve learned a lot If you have not done it already, it would be nice to have a video where you explain your techniques for painting eyes on various scales. I was impressed by the look of the eyes on this mini!
Hee hee, I am afraid to paint eyes in front of the camera bro. I need super saiyan concentration when painting eyes. My setup just wont allow me to detail paint while filming bro. 😅
@@DonSuratos totally understand, bro. No problem. Your results are very good, so your techniques work! Eyes are so difficult for me to paint. Any tips besides a very steady hand 😂?
I've been following your work via Vallejo's channel for a long time, and only recently found you had your own! Your techniques are accessible, and achievable! I'd love to download the little infographics of your 'magic mixes' for your sauces. I want to print them, laminate them, and stick them to my paint rack !!
Very nice, but how do you choose the colors to match? Decide in the moment by your own experience, reproduce the colors from your own sketch. Thx Denis
Little things do matter 😂 Repetition is mother of all learning... Remember that Vada ppl. 😂🤣😅 Push those pigments to the moon! 😁 way smoother highlights, could be deeper shadows maybe 😍 when you swap black background light diffuses more and makes it look better in my eyes.
@@DonSuratos take your time 😆 I still need some accessories to my bases too... hmm I got nice chunk of greenstuff and bit of imagination... I do fine. I have became retarder addict. 🤪 I can't stop mixing it with my paints anymore. Got 10 more models, to build soon. Preparing work is Nastiest. 😆 finally washed my wet palette 🎨 it's like new minus bit fluorescent green on corner of it, that spilled there...that paint came out of 🍼 as weird 💩 but I mixed it on wet palette. 😆 🤣
Can you tell me what method you use to shake your paints, please? Mine don’t seem to flow from the bottles like yours do. I use Vallejo Model Color mainly.
Model Colors usually need no shaking. They are very creamy in general. I do shake my paints at least once a month though. You may need to stir the paints if unused for very long time. Cheers. ☺️
Drybrushing and not getting the chalkiness is actually really easy. Get a small sponge in it's own little container with enough water to keep the top a little moist. Wipe the paint off like you normally would. You do this to get rid of most of the pigment, but it also gets rid of most of the moisture, this is what creates the chalkyness. Once you get the paint off to how you like it dab the brush right into that wet sponge, wick it off a little bit, and then start the drybrushing. Now that you have reintroduced moisture, but not pigment, you will not get that chalky effect. It take a little practice to get it right, but just keep making it wetter until you find that breakpoint where you get a nice coverage with no chalkiness.
AK and other glaze mediums always come out gummy and glossy for me. The consistency of the paint and the finish seems super not worth it but you always seem to have great success! 😮
Nah dude I personally think you’re selling this one short, the squig looks excellent and is definitely of a higher quality than a lot of your other vids
I see... but... I spent more time on it. More time really is more quality then. Thanks! ☺️
This is the kind of video that I enjoy and learn the most.
Thanks bro! I try. ☺️🎨🎨🎨
Try drybrushing white over black(or grey), then put contrast paint on it.
I will try bro... Interesting stuff. ☺️🎨🎨🎨
honestly, i prefer it when you show the whole process. there are details in the technique that may not be so apparent otherwise.
Copy sir. Will do. I just need to fit everything in less than 15 minutes. I do not like editing long videos. ☺️
I’m glad you added graphic showing the recipes of the different sauces with the like glaze medium to paint ratio stuff 👍
Than you for watching! Glad you liked the simple graphics. ☺️🎨🎨🎨

@@DonSuratos Not boring for me bro. The finishing touches are the details that upgrade our minis, and make them to look really awesome

"Salba Mode"... yes... all artists, I mean specially if you like to experiment will need to find ways to save their work. Well specially for me sir. 😅
I really liked the short part of color theory. If you feel like it please add such parts any time in your videos.
