  • Taash is the third weapon in the 3 of Swords reversed.
Taash from Dragon Age: The Veilguard is still a fairly unknown character to us. The card speaks of a character arc that gets me excited to meet this companion. Beginning with a backstory of unknowns and confusion to reach inner peace and clarity.
I dive into Character Predictions for Dragon Age 4 in this video, where I pick a character's name out of a hat and do a one card draw Tarot Reading.

about the swords. I hope we can give *Taash* the two blades she wields in the concept arts. They looked quite good.
As for *Taash* as a character. I'm not really a fan of her appearance. She looks a bit too ornate.

It's interesting to speculate about a character that is brand new. There's nothing established to go on. You just have to use your imagination. Three of Swords is one of the worst cards when upright, but I guess if it's reversed then it can mean something good. If I recall, Syd pulled it during maybe it was Rook's reading (or maybe Solas'), and he thought it signified a wrong being righted.
Maybe Taash is a dual weapon warrior, which I was hoping would come back some day. And maybe her third blade is a two-handed weapon.
Confusion, anxiety, strife. Could mean something to do with the kind of life she leads as a Lord of Fortune. The life itself doesn't seem all that fulfilling. Just jumping from one job, heist, quest, or adventure to the next. Never really laying down roots or building anything for yourself. Living a life of wealth and indulgence might also bring anxiety since this could lead to thrill-seeking or adrenaline rush addiction. This could also lead to confrontation or conflicts with other dangerous people at bars, in the streets, or competing over the same coveted treasure.
Side note. It seems we've gotten a type of Qunari party member in each game. Sten was an official Qunari. Tallis was a vidathari qunari. The Iron Bull was a ben-hassrath spy who pretended to be vashoth, and can become tal-vashoth reluctantly. So Taash is probably either tal-vashoth or vashoth, though there is still the possibility she's a Qunari spy (but BioWare probably won't do that twice in a row). I think she'd be more interesting as a willing tal-vashoth, rather than a vashoth, because then we can see a former qunari who has fully embraced the world of the bas. It would be interesting to see just how decadent and uproarious she gets when partying or celebrating. Inebriation could also play a role in the possible confusion aspect of her character. Taash might also be trying to figure out who she is without the Qun.
Cowardice could be her running away from the Qun or the Qunari culture. Or her being afraid to fight the ben-hassrath who are sent to kill her for leaving. Or maybe she is afraid to face herself for something she did in the past. Or maybe she's afraid to trust anyone too much, or develop personal bonds. A recent article came out revealing a little more on the romances. Some of the companions are experienced in relationships, and at least one has never been in one before and is awkward or shy about it. So maybe Taash's romance plot involves her being awkward on personal matters.
Shallowness/superficiality could be related to the Lords of Fortune. They go after treasure and what looks pleasing to the eye. That in itself might become an obsession with no end or meaning behind it. Or like you said, people might prejudge her based on her looks and her race, and not trust her or try to converse with her beyond business or trade.
Discord could be part of her personality. She looks direct and abrasive. She might disagree with our decisions or challenge us. It might be part of her character arc that we have to convince her to follow us, similar to Sten if you take him to Haven and he challenges the point of seeking the Urn.
Malice that is nearing could mean the ben-hassrath trying to hunt her down.
Fear of loss could mean several things. Loss of wealth obtained as a Lord of Fortune. Loss of companions. Loss of one's self or sanity outside the Qun.
Maybe regaining composure and peace has to do with her story arc and finding peace within the Veilguard and Rook helps her find it.
Greater insight and clarity could mean she has special knowledge of certain situations thanks to her work as a Lord of Fortune. It could also refer to her being introspective and reflecting on her own life, sorting out her problems, and growing as a person.
Yeah, I hope BioWare thought of something this good for Taash. I just wish she looked better as far as physical beauty. I don't think BioWare has ever gotten qunari females right, not even in the comics where they are most feminine. I think they should look like taller, stronger versions of female elves or humans with small horns or no horns.

In our discussion, Cole mentioned that since Taash's name is Qunlat, she is probably Tal-Vashoth, gaving left the Qun, as opposed to born Vashoth, which would make sense.
Yeah, I can see her as being abrasive.
I think the Viddasala looked good, but yeah, I had a hard time in CC creating my fem Qunari for Inquisition.

Have you read the game informer about Veilguard? It got me reinterested in the game. They address why they change the name from Dreadwolf to Veilguard. Continue where they left off at the demo video after stopping Solas. Meeting more party members, Eluvians are a big thing, so many new areas even darker ones to come, having an awesome home base but it could use a better name than “the Lighthouse”, doing combos like Batman, Spider-Man, or Talion. Doing team combos and chaining them together like Mass Effect.
The new engine thier running on was meant for FPS, but for an RPG they manage to make it work somehow.
Maybe I was a bit harsh on Harley Qun (Taash) comparing concepts arts and the trailer. She has her own certain charm and it’s nice to have someone to kill dragons with again.
The only bad thing is so many waifus to choose from. I thought Origins was tough either choosing Morrigan or Leliana. Now they just doubled on that In Veilguard. Sorry Lacey theirs competition after reading game informer and learning a little more about Neve and Bellara. You got me little interested in Taash so thx for that.

@@samuraininjarockstar6309 Hehe yeah. They've all got their charms.
Yes, I read the article and other info dumps from various sources that was on Felassan's Tumblr. I am preparing a massive video for some spoilers and theorirs regarding Solas, the Lighthouse, the Evanuris and other stuff too. I also have another for a few articles combined for skill trees. I just haven't had the chance to finish editing them yet. I was super excited though to read who the unleashed Evanuris are, especially since the article came out mere hours after I put out my video about who I thought it was. Should have bet money on it. 😅 But I'm not a gambler.
I might have been harsh too but after learning mkre about her and this reading, I'm excited to get to know her better.

@@DarthShadie interesting how all are Qunari companions are warriors and not a mage (saarebas) or rogue. Sort of thought Harley Qun (Taash) was gonna be a rogue from the concept arts unless they go back to Dragon Age Origins Dual wielding warrior.

@@samuraininjarockstar6309 Yeah. Initially I wasmhoping our Qunari companion would be Qwydion from Absolution because she's a mage, not to jention I adore her. It would have switched things up to have a Qunari mage. I get the feeling some of the companions are dual class, like rogue-mage for Bellara, rogue-warrior for Taash.
