So speaking of Ghilan'nain... The Chant of Light recalls that the Maker created the world using lyrium, but Chantry canon refers to lyrium as "emerald waters", and these "emerald waters" are said to be the source of all life. While Lyrium can sometimes be rather teal, emeralds are usually quite green, not teal. And who do we know that used green lyrium and water to make new life forms? And here did Andraste speak with the Maker? In an underground temple surrounded by "emerald water". And where was Ghilan'nain's briney pool located? Deep underground. What if humans were created by Ghilan'nain from elves or maybe even dwarves? Maybe a mix of the two? Them being experiments would explain why they lack a history from before the Veil, because the creation of the Veil would be when Ghilan'nain was sealed away, and when magic was weakened, potentially freeing all of her experiments out into the world. It would also explain why they think a singular Maker used "emerald water" to make all life, since in the underground labs they would've lacked all knowledge of the outside world, only ever seeing Ghilan'nain and her creations, and the brine pool would've been illuminated at all times by the green lyrium.
that'd be an incredibly fucked revelation if true. Would explain why Elves and Humans can so easily breed, and their children are human. Should also be mentioned that what would become Tevinter also believed in the Maker, but the Maker abandoned them, so the proto-Tevene turned to worship of the Old Gods who gave them magic (until Andrastianism said it was the other way around)
As far as I can recall… The only one of the Evanuris that Solas seemed to actively dislike and talk about was Falon’Din. Putting my tinfoil hat on, I’m just going to throw it out there that the Elvhen god of death and funerals might have been the one who committed the actual murder of Mythal. The others were in on it and helped, but the deathblow was delivered by Falon’Din. I think I remember Solas saying that Falon’Din sank into megalomania and barbarity and demanded death and bloodshed on a massive scale from his followers, and Mythal intervened when things went to far. Mythal injured his pride, and gave him a VERY big reason to seek revenge. I would be really surprised if we didn’t have to deal with Falon’Din at some point. I just have this feeling that Mythal (unknowingly) kicked off the whole thing when she put Falon’Din back in his place. I think events moved so quickly from this point that they generated their own momentum. The split in the Evanuris, the murder of Mythal, the uprising of the slaves under the Dread Wolf, the plan to banish the Evanuris, the creation of the veil, the death of the world of the Elvhen. Of course I’m probably just crazy and unaware of a fact or two that would easily disprove the whole thing.
If it had already came out, y’all would have called it rushed and buggy…always having something to complain about, hmm?? Whether it comes out soon or takes a decade to make it perfect, “fans” like you are never happy 🤦🏼♂️
You know what would be interesting is if Solas turned out to be a potential ally instead of just an outright villain. I could easily see him getting in way over his head because the elven gods had literal millennia to gain strength and plot, whereas Solas spent how much time basically in a magical coma? He was so weak that he had to rely on Corypheus to unlock his orb for him, and he has friends (and a potential lover) in the world as it exists currently. I could see him being persuaded to join forces if things get out of hand.
@@SeventhheavenDKlol some people felt the same about Wynne. I felt the same about Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077 with his self focused 'I am the change and the revolution' ego.
@@warallied Considering the fact that the main character is going to be someone new, I do wonder how much the Inquisitor's relationship with Solas will affect the plot.
I think I know why there's two of them. -The old gods are said to be dragons who are slumbering underground. -The elven deities we have experience with so far like Mythal, seem to also be linked to dragons and able to appear as dragons. And the elven deities were locked away in the Fade, AKA, they are dreaming. -There are seven old gods in total, but 4-5 depensing on player choice of them have been killed in the blights, leaving only two left: Razikale and Lusacan. Razikale is female, and she is the dragon god of mystery, and is associated with the constellation Eluvia Lusacan is male, and he is the dragon god of night (moon symbolism), and he is associated with the constellation Tenebrium, which is also associated with Falon'Din So I think that the two "evil gods" are the two remaining old gods, and at the same time, they are Falon'Din and probably Dirthamen (dirthamen is referred to as male, but is supposedly Falon'Din's twin, and as it happens, the god of _mystery_ ). Dirthamen and Falon'Din are also supposed to be inseparable and love each other dearly, which makes it even more likely that they are in fact the two gods in question.
The only issue is that, did Solas trap them physically in the Fade? If not, then why do the Old Gods have souls? Or is it just something fucky going on. Solas does get a bit ansty over the Grey Wardens killing them. There has to be such a connection with them though. I always thought that they were connected to the Forgotten Ones though. But I am leaning to the Evanuris, just not sure whatever the soul they have means. The dragon connections with the Evanuris makes this even more compelling to puzzle over.
Isn't it confirmed they do not stay dead? They are reborn? Example, Morrigons son has the spirit of a God that was reborn inside him. Jaws of Hakkan shows you kill the Dragon & it is reborn.
@omega1397 That could be because one theory I saw, the old gods are a part of them. They created the old gods so they may have given them a soul and a part of their soul! Now to address Morrigan stealing an old god soul. There's a theory that Flemeth has had 4 other children during each blight that did the same as Morrigan (Although this would have to be a retcon if in DAO you or Alistair did not do the ritual) as Flemeth knew exactly how to capture an old god soul and it worked flawlessly. How else could she get it right on the first try without having done it before? Plus she takes the old god soul in DAI. So Flemeth is collecting the souls and that I feel is going to be a key part. Mythal and flemeth are after revenge againster the evanuris. What better way to get revenge than hold a part of the evanuris hostage?
Im so excited for Dreadwolf, im hoping to see as many of the Elvhen Gods as they'll be willing to share. Imagine fighting them or conversing with the Forgotten Ones to team up to save the modern Thedas from the whole/part of the Elvhen Patheon. Immaaaaagine
The Dragon Age universe as Jackdaw once noted is basically what would happen if Shakespeare wrote a fantasy novel. No good or evil, just insanity and tragedy.
Wouldn't surprise me if Dreadwolf's main conflict comes from the Elven Gods on one side trying to take over Thedas, and on the other the blighted Tevinter Magisters who yet remain.
So excited! I agree that Elgar’nan is the arrogant voice in the trailer and depicted in the fresco. Even though it’s definitely Elgar’nan, I am unsure about how I feel about that, since as you said, there actually isn’t a lot of lore or attention given to him in DA, and Zeus-like villains have been so done before, if you know what I mean. Now, for the other figure, I assume it’s Ghilan’nain, since she was a big deal in Tevinter Nights. I really hope it’s her since I love the idea of the cute, innocent Elven god actually being the most terrifying and monstrous and unrecognizable. Really hope that she’ll be a huge villain in DAD!
I honestly think the female figure is andruil because the head piece is shaped like a bow. Also in the mural you have two female figures whom have succumb to red lyrium(Andruil and Meredith) while the two male figures are being casted into a rift or overwhelmed by it (Corypheus and Elgar’Nan).
Here id a little review of things at stakes. 1. The chantry situation 2. 2 old gods were found 3. Weissaupt is at war with orlais' warden. (But could be much worse) 4. Tevinter has been re attacked by the Qunaris and is in political/internal chaos which can lead to World war. 5. Orlais potential dispute/scheming. 6. Kal sharok 7. The warden's cure quest. 8. Old god/Flemeth/Solas 9. The titans are awakening. 10. The forgotten ones are returning but something is off 11. Outcome of the architect. 12. All around alliances depending on DA, DA 2+ inquisition. 13. Sten's return+great dragons 14. Sandal 15. The potential survival of the one left behind in the fade depending on who you left. (Lore notes were given+DA2 flemeths advice) 16. Many ancient magisters still at large. 17. Status of the inquisition. And much much more. P.S: The last noises while a likely Evanuris was talking about his reign - are noises when we're VERY close to the black city in DA:I. There is a way to see it from very close in Awakening - i hope y'all are ready to be very surprised.
Falon'Din and Dirthamen have had so many lore drops throughout the series, I would be shocked if they do not have some role in the next game. I was feeling quite bummed about DA:D but the teaser and seeing the community have some spark in again is making me excited for next summer! I've also noticed a lot more new players on the subreddit, so I really hope Bioware can continue to raise hype for Dreadwolf.
Jack, my dude, he's going to tear down that Veil and unleach all those Evanuris, we're going to have help clean up his mess...again. I say the focus will be on him and the Dreadwolf but not as a villain. I still think Eclipse was gojng to be the original title before Star Wars...eclipsed Dragon Age. There is going to be so much chaos in Thedas, pre and post torn Veil, it's going to be beautiful.
I absolutely agree with the opinion that the ominous voice we heard in the trailer is not Solas, not even as DreadWolf. The words just seem so out of character for him, and fall more in line with the tyranny attributed to the Evanuris! "The 'peace and comfort' of my reign"...
Ghilan’nain is definitely the centipede monster on the left of the mural. For the other god I favor Falon Din but it could be any of them. I think the slain archdemons are key for deciphering which gods are in the game however. For example, Elgar Nan won’t be a big bad in the game because his counterpart, Dumat, has been slain.
My guess that it is Falon'Din. Back in Inquisition, and I could be wrong, Falon'Din was the only elven god besides Mythal that he talked about. Made think me that there was some rivalry between the two. Also, Elgar'nan was ruler before and now Falon'Din wants to be ruler now. Maybe he has spies in Solas supporters? I believe Ghilan'nain will be the second because during Horror of Hormak, it is mention that the halla seemed to be more insectoid and that one figure seems to have mandibles on the side of their head as well as that picture of the heroes fighting that sea beast
That would actually track, Solas mentioned in Mythal temple that Falon'din vanity and desire for worshippers were so great that he regurlarly waged war on the realms of the others gods to steal their faithful, killing all thoses that do not bow to him.
I am thinking since notably 2 specific Gods of the Elven Pantheon were mentioned in What Pride Had Wrought it could absolutely be those, especially since one looks distinctly female while the other has a more "traditional" male figure. Along with that voice in the trailer. I am of course talking about Andruil and Falon'Din, the two elven gods whom Solas if you bring on the mission very much critique in their actions. Especially for Falon'Din since Solas mentions he would do anything for adoration. That could absolutely connect him to that very voice from the recent trailer since he mentions a reign in comfort. This is pure speculation of course but just the fact that there are only those two that have specific banter in Inquisition has to count for something I feel.
Falon’Din as the big bad had been my guess since that teaser dropped. OR Mythal tricked Solas and the other gods ended her to save the world and she’s the big bad. That was my running theory for a while.
She did tease (and morrigan) about it around twice. Morrigan freaked out about her goals in Origin's DLC and Flemeth talked about revenge that will be a gigantic reckoning. Tho, the song is stopping her...I dont entirely think that this game will be the one featuring her as the big bad. the blight, Drakon's prophecy/dream and many more answers are in the way still.
Mythal being the villain all along would be a very big twist. Even Merril said there is a darker side to Mythal and that thoses who displeased/disrepect her tend to disappear.
Ive always felt Mythal/Flemeth hasn’t been telling the whole truth and has some secret malignant intentions of some sort down the line. I’ve always had this “something’s off” vibe when it comes to her. Also on the topic of Morrigan: Would love to know how DA:D is going to deal with her absence if/when she isnt present in the game.
Part of me knew that Solas wasn’t going to be the main villain of Dread Wolf. He’s more of an anti hero/villain as he’s willing to destroy the world in order to restore the elves back to their former glory. He was the one who overthrew the Elven Gods by imprisoning them in the Fade for killing Mythal and enslaving the elven race. Sure the creation of the veil cause the elves to lose their immortality, but at least Solas was trying to imprison the Elven Gods and hope that they’ll never do any harm again. And besides, we’ve only see two elven gods, Fen’Harel and Mythal. I bet that this game will let us see what the other Elven Gods are like and what their character traits are.
I really hope this to be a 100h game, with a much more streamlined world, but much more far reaching main quest line. I hope it's the last Dragon Age and wish that they answer all the questions from the last games. I just need it to bring all the missing pieces to complete the puzzle.
Ooh interesting! The Ghilan'nain theory could match the rivain map in the last teaser. With the map changing to a kraken. What would be fascinating is if we have a mutliole prong story stat with different areas being impacted by the fade cracking and the heroes in those areas meet together to unite against a common enemy. I really like rh idea that there arr multiple elven gods are moving through thedas with their own agendas.
soooo is anyone gonna talk about the dragon noises in the voiced line? Like... Tevinter taken over by an elven god who is also an old god, maybe? Also yes, Solas is going to be the Saren of this game.
This may have already been asked but if the veil is destroyed, wont Corypheus get out? The inquisitor used their power to seal him in the fade, with the lock being the veil and the inquisitor being the key. But with no lock... You get my point
the next 7 months will be torture waiting for the full reveal of dreadwolf, that being said its nice to watch your videos they help sate my dragon age thirst and to help keep at bay the anxiousness that comes with the wait
Considering that one of the Evil gods is depicted as something of a great sea monster/Leviathan emerging from the depths, I wonder if in terms of gameplay the returning Elven gods will be like the dragons of Inquisition - big epic fights around the world..
Maybe it will be the case that we have to choose between one of these two Gods to align ourselves with to stop Solas. Kind of in the same vein as choosing between the Templars and the mages. Though I agree that Solas probably won't end up being thee big bad, I think it's likely there will be a redemption arc for him, or at least the option to redeem him if you want to. In any case I am glad we finally have something to nibble on again until the next bit or news comes.
I'm guessing we'll get to meet most of the Elvin pantheon. Some allies that will help the fight, some in more of a counselor position, and some as enemies. The Dreadwolf is misguided, but seeking to right a wrong. So if anything he'll probably be the final boss of Act 1 and then he'll end up joining us to some extent or another. But now the question: what if breaking the veil gives us....Dwarf Mages? The only reason Dwarves can't be magic is due to their complete disconnect from the veil, but we did see something akin to Dwarven magic in DA:I....
Depiction of Golden City (14:30 in video) has 7 half-spheres below, with 7 symbols each... Two of the symbols are the same as the headpieces of the two gods we were shown, so I believe they represent the Evanuris. The central symbol is bigger and is the same as the male figure, so I guess it's Elger'nan alright)
I strongly believe that the two Evanuris in the mural are Elgar'nan and Mythal. There's this strong sense of... like Yin and Yang between them? Like perfect opposites? The male figure is all large bodied and smooth lines with arms spread away from himself, and the female is very slender and spikey with arms crossed in front of her. Add to that their horns(?) that look like the sun and moon AND that if you look closely at the yellow markings on the male's chest that are very clearly the female's arms (her forearms gradually turn yellow) that almost look like she could be hugging him from behind in a lover's embrace (which implies to me an intimate relationship between the two). Plus, the female's horns look exactly like the statues of Mythal in the Trespasser deep roads as well as the staff Mythal wields in some of her concept art. So to sum it up: Sun/Moon, drawn in a way that is perfectly balanced in how they contrast, an implied intimate relationship, and similarities between the female figure and statues of Mythal? Elgar'nan and Mythal seem like the only two who would fit.
"One day the magic will come back. All of it. Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part, and the skies will open wide. When he rises, everyone will see." The veil will fall and Solas is not the main villain.
These gods sound like: Gods: "We have come to SAVE you!" Elves: "Hurray! it's the Elvhen Gods!" Gods: "From YOURSELVES!!!" Elves: "Oh no, it's the Elvhen Gods..."
I would honestly not be surprised if this entire time Solas has been pulling a Lelouche from Code Geass, making himself the target to force the world to work together against him. Difference in this case would be that he'd be doing so in order to make sure the world is prepared for the inevitable return of the Elven Gods. We've seen well before Solas woke up and started with his plan that the Veil is weak in many places. It could be that those weaknesses and the Blights are the work of these trapped Elven Gods trying to get out.
Excellent! Perfect to listen to as I wrap gifts! Yeah it's not to far out of the realm to imagine Solas making a mistake and setting some of the evanuris free. Making mistakes is consistent with him 😂. But with all this tinfoiling I sort of wish I had waited to finish my fic. There are so many new possibilities now!
The latest teaser showed all the different northern kingdoms and nations, over each nation played out a voice over, since the last one plays over the Tevinter region I’m pretty sure the voice belongs to the current ruler of Tevinter, Archon Radonis. The Archon may still be aiming to take back the entirety of Thedas, to “make Tevinter great again” lol
I think this was obvious from the beginning that Solas would not be the final boss. His plan will fail, and only parts of the veil will come down, but this will also release the evanuris. They will be the main enemies, and it will be up to us to defeat them. We will possibly be able to ally with Solas, the old gods, the titans, or possibly even Meredith depending on player choices. My theory is that Solas will be caught off guard by the evanuris. He will suspect they all entered uthenera like he did to pass the time. He will even be right about some of them, but I think Elgar'nan will have stayed awake for thousands of years rampaging inside his prison, possibly torturing anyone sealed in with him. Falon'Din likewise will have stayed awake the whole time, sitting in silence and focusing every second on his revenge once the veil finally falls. Meanwhile, his brother Dirth'amen will have entered uthenera, and Falon'Din will have been standing guard, waiting for their prison to open. Others will have entered uthenera. June will have likely built traps and mechanisms to protect his body while he sleeps. The female evanuris might have made plans to revive their powers once they awaken, such as by sacrificing any followers locked in with them. I think Solas' plan was to use the lyrium mines as a trap for them, hoping they would go there first to regain their powers. There he would trap them and destroy them, but the qunari ruined that plan. So his next plan is to build an army and generals to attack the evanuris as soon as the veil drops over their prisons. But I think each general and their soldiers will be destroyed by the evanuris, and it will be up to our protags to defeat them, likely starting with June, who is probably the weakest. The last will probably be Elgar'nan, and the final battle will have to take place inside the Black City. Our protags will be able to travel there after the Hero of Ferelden returns with the cure for the taint. Then our protags will kill Elgar'nan, and accidentally fulfill Mythal's will.
I have to admit - well done! Great detective work! Now, for me, the question is 'Where did the Blight come from?' was it a) an unintended effect of the Veil's creation b) a creation of the Gods pre-Veil (hence Solas' motive for the Veil), or c) a creation of the Gods post-Veil (as a means to exert power in Thedas perhaps)?
The blight definitely originates from the evanuris, maybe it is the result of them being trapped in the fade and having made some kind of sacrifice of a part of themselves to increase their magic and that sacrifice is what led to their declining morality
Another factor I think many are overlooking is how Andraste and the Maker coincide with Mythal and Gallin’an! Idk how that will affect the Chantry and the realization their beliefs have all been based on lies (or at least misinformation)…but that will make this game even better!!!
My theory is that in order to fight these elven gods we’re going to have to power up to be adequate or adjacent to Godlike status or find magical weapons, and such that give us an equal footing against them
or we can convince solas to help us find the forgotten ones the elven gods that he and the evanuris banished into the void two groups of over powered mages head budding and we cheering behind them, lore wise you should not be more power full than the first elves and this wont break the lore also it can bring again the matter of the source of the blight into the story, the forgotten ones were banished into the void where the blight may have come from they might know what the hell it is
The veil will be destroyed during the intro to the game. We will have origins like the first game, during the origin stories the veil will be destroyed release some evil gods. In the end of the game solas will help fix what he broke.
my guess first act probably will involve rook getting support and strength to fight solas second act is the veil torn, and fighting solas? possibly the reveal of an evanuris then third act involving fighting that evanuris. Maybe. Probably not
Your so right, vid maker. Look thr newest Gameplay vid of june 2024 with Solas doing this ritual and Rook/Protagonist of Dreadwolf/ Veilguard interrupted it. But there standing 2 Dangerous Elven gods left so ugly and fearful to look at. And Solas had an angsty face when he realised he had 2 evil gods infront of him.
I would love For Ghila'nian to be one of the antagonist, if going for a standard three or maybe acts structure, I can imagine the veil being destryed at the end of act one but even before that it is already weakened and the remaining member of the elvhen pantheon already making some sort of presence in the waking world, maybe through possesion or a similar means. Ghila'nian is already being given importance among other gods thanks to the bits of lore in DAI and the Grey Pools depicted in that story from Tevinter Nights, she could be like a misterious opposing antagonist during the game until being uncovered.
I'm sure Solas won't be the main villain. His plan after the destruction of the Orb smell second-handed, something quickly put together that won't have the same efficiency than the original. He's going to be overwhelmed by events and accidentally free the Evanuris. And he is honestly way too sympathic to be the evil we want to destroy. Unlike the Evanuris. I'm also convinced that the developper want to explore how Thedas would be like once reunited with the Fade, how societies and the species will be changed by it. It could even open the field for future games. 5:12 I think this is Ghil'anain. Not sure though but her tails does make me think of her portfolio as mother of animals. Also, yeah, the Evanuris are CLEARLY not elves, at least, not anymore. 6:20 It's not Solas, voice aside, Solas clearly stated that he wasn't interested in ruling the world, only in remaking it like it was originally. 8:26 I doubt it's Elgar'nan. Even its mythological counterpart is not known to bring "peace and confort". 9:23 That doesn't make sense, Mythal is Flemeth and reside in Solas. She was also one of the few elven gods to be decent, she wouldn't aid Elgar'nan.
I hope that Solas joins back. After he drops the veil. As like another “whoops. I can help you kill the elven gods. Lemme back into the fold.” I can see it being a plot point. A mutual goal.
7 arch demons, 9 elven gods, -2 with Solas and Mithal, -5 from previous blights, archdemons = elven gods. Only 2 elven gods left. The slept in their dragon forms and whispered to the blighted who were connected to their holy city from the original corruption. They may align with the forgotten ones. Mithal was absorbed into Solas, but she does have a piece in either the inquisitor or Morrigan
my theory of the 2 figures is that its one of 2 sets, either its the twins Dirthamen/Falon'din..OR its the forgotten gods awakening, the wone with the crescent-shaped headpiece looks alot like Mythal/Flemeths horn-shape
I'm curious as to what connection red lyrium form Meredith and Corypheus holding the orb in relation to the two elven gods depicted in this mural. Meredith had no intention of breaking into the golden city but Cory does. So I ask what could they mean as we know red lyrium Meredith still exist in the series, but Cory we know being dead(?). Could Meredith's action in the series be attributed to an elven god wanting to be reborn in a red lyrium body? Could Cory and the other 6 magisters action in breaking into the Golden city be the call of one specific powerful elven god? As always love your content! ❤❤❤
Based on this video, I believe the events will go as follow: Act 1- The player character (for one reason or another) works with the inquisition to track down solas. During their serch, they are contacted by the an Elven cult called the Executors with whom the player can chose to allie with or not. At the end of the act, they manage to find Solas and interupt him as he was about to destroy the veil. As a result, the veil remains but it is weakened, allowing the Evanuris led by El Ganan to escape from the fade. This is the worst case scenario as Solas's plan to defeat the Evanuris requiered the complete destruction of the veil. Fortunately, they are weakened from centuries of emprisonement and cannot conquer Thedas imediately. Act 2- With the veil weakened, spirits and deamons are appearing all over Thedas, magical incidents wreak havock in Tevinter and Elven slaves, embolden by the chaos and the return of their gods, revolts against their masters who answer with cruel represions. To make matters worth, the Qunari are now preparing an invasion of the Imperium who they believe responsibles for these events. Similarely to "Dragon Age Origins" and "Dragon Age Inquisition", the act wil largely be spent gathering allies and helping to settle matters in the imperium (slavery, coruption, the Qunari etc...) while twarting the Evenuris's scheems. Some of the weaker Evenuris are likely to die during that phase. It is possible that the player's involvement in the final events of Act 1 gives them the possibility to do so. Act 3- The Evanuris and their Executors followers have been held at bay so far, but now El Ganan and his peers have nearly regained their full powers. The player, the Inquisition and their newly gathered allies team up with Solas in a desperate attempt to stop them. Against all hods, they succeed. Following this, I can see three endings: 1- The veil remain weakened, further empowering mages and magical entities while allowing greater contact between people and spirits. 2- The veil is fixed save at one place on the forest of Arlathan where the Elves build a new kingdom with deep conections to the fade. 3- The veil is fixed and the world is returned to what it was. As for Solas, his fate will depend on the player's decisions. Maybe he will sacrifice himself to stop the Evanuris. Mabe the character will kill him, either as punishment for his crimes or to stop him from destroying the veil along with the world. Or, maybe he will survive and start a new life in anonimity but lose his immortality in the process.
Most recent codex entries & in-game lore hint at the big bad being something trapped inside The Stone, that the foolish evanuris almost unearted when mining lyrium. DA:O already warned us about it with the The Gangue Shade codex entry and an obscure quote from an easily forgetable npc, Ruck: "Grey like the stone. Guardians against the darkness".
You know what I never thought about? What if The Dread Wolf is literally a demonic wolf that is the guard Liam of the black city similar to how Cerberus guards the underworld?
So I've been thinking about this. I feel like Solas is going to bring down the vail early in DaD, and because we all know how Solas's plans go, we'll be cleaning up this mess.
Yeah I never saw Solas as an enemy, he's just a hubristic character trying to fix something he views as a mistake - and making a new one in the process. He firmly believes he is the protagonist and that through his efforts alone he can solve the problem without realising that he almost certainly can't. He also seems to forget that the other Gods won't have been sat idle, they will have been planning and acting where they could (for example when a set of mages broke through the Veil and entered their prison - potentially creating the Darkspawn which I've long thought were a dark mirror of life in Thedas). From the gameplay trailer for Veilguard we now know he is likely the Act 1 problem before things get really bad.
@jackdaw I have no idea why u take the time to make these videos but im glad u do. I love DA and Ur channel is the first, kinda forum, that im following about a game, ever. And im 34. So ive played a myriad of games by now. Also, am I getting too old or is DAI a bit too bulky(big)? Just feels overwhelming to have so many things to do. Also, id love for the War Table to have more impact on the actual game. Hope they keep the concept and improve it.
I would note that there are two Elven gods and just happen to be only two Old God dragons left. Sooooo, I think it’s likely that Elgar’nan was Dumat, and long dead.
That voiceover about reigning the world is not Solas (Dreadwolf Form) because that's not even his primary motivation. He wants to bring back the old power of the Elvhen by removing the veil, none of that world domination (by himself at least) stuff.
I don’t think it will work this way but I would find it VERY interesting if we had multiple choices who we wish to thwart and support. For example, if possible I will do everything in my power to give power back to Mythal. I’ll work with Morrigan and even Solas as long as Mythal can reclaim her position as head of the pantheon. What if we can support the evil voiced god? It’d be interesting.
Been saying this all along Solas simply doesn't have a Aura of wickedness. Then ending credits Solas agonized his regret of his decision and he had no other alternative. I've been theorizing that destroying the veil is to stop the Evanuris. Out of the murals they have shown was an Elf surrounded by fire and staring down a dark beast(some who think that is Part of Solas sundered) and is protecting a gizelle(forget proper name) But that's what makes me believe that Lavellan is the DAI canon protagonist because it ties motives and storyline perfectly and that Dark beast isn't Solas at all it's the Evanuris. I think ppl think there is only 2 Evanuris left because all of but 2 of the old Gods were destroyed along with the blights. I feel that the blight and the Evanuris are connected. But if there is only 2 left definitely going with Elgar'Nan and Andruil. But if all the Evanuris are alive and escape I can see them manipulate the heros attempting to hunt Solas not realizing the real threat till it's almost too late. I don't see Solas as the disposable villain, he will have his own agenda but he isn't Evil that's also why I think Lavellan is the canon hero it just ties the narrative just right.
I’m hoping they don’t kill off a lot of major things like old gods or eleven gods off screen etc I kind of wondered if the voice at the end was the high archon of tevinter I wonder if we’re overlooking the forgotten ones? Ah so much to think about until next summer
God, I hope Mythal returns (yea Kate is gone) but Flemeth seemed to be transferring some of "her energy or self" into the eluvian (hoping for a new Mythal, a new body and voice actress).
I hope the Elven gods call the Dalish 'slaves' to their faces. It's about time the modern day Elves realise the truth of their false gods and lost empire.
I'm gonna guess that it's Mythal. "It was at this moment that Mythal walked out of the sea of the Earth's tears and onto the land. " and "The Dalish believe that Mythal was born of the sea" are two things that just struck with me when I first read them. There's also a better balance between Sun and Moon, Fire and Water, a husband and a wife. But since Mythal may be gone, I wonder if there's some idea of this creature being a twisted mythal, like the tie between the old gods and the evanuris. Like how a spirits purpose may be twisted into the opposite, I wonder if it could be related to that.
What is strange is that the two elven goods have a link with the two more powerful elements we saw in the games (the idol for her and the orb for the male god). But one is lost (the orb is broken)… maybe they were imbued with the power of these two goods (since Solas seems to have a natural talent for stealing the power of other gods as with flemeth/ mythal).
Turns out that 2024 is the year of the Dragon. Let's hope its the year of Dragon Age Dreadwolf too.
SPOILER ALERT! At the end of DA D... with a dying breath, Solas will whisper in the ears of the protagonist: "EA is the real danger"
keeping us waiting ten years is far more evil than anything solas would do
If it had already came out, y’all would have called it rushed and buggy…always having something to complain about, hmm??
I suspect that it will depend on your choice in Inquisition.
I hope not, I dislike him and I really want to erase his annoying personality and existence from my game. The choice must be there.
@@SeventhheavenDKlol some people felt the same about Wynne. I felt the same about Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077 with his self focused 'I am the change and the revolution' ego.
I’m assuming Solas is not the primary antagonist of this game, or at least not the only one.
Razikale is female, and she is the dragon god of mystery, and is associated with the constellation Eluvia
Lusacan is male, and he is the dragon god of night (moon symbolism), and he is associated with the constellation Tenebrium, which is also associated with Falon'Din
So I think that the two "evil gods" are the two remaining old gods, and at the same time, they are Falon'Din and probably Dirthamen (dirthamen is referred to as male, but is supposedly Falon'Din's twin, and as it happens, the god of _mystery_ ).
This would blow my mind 🥳😮🫨!
The Forgotten ones were basically the freaks in High School terms of their place in elven society so hell yeah I'd allie with them.
The man truly is an information oasis in the dragon age drought.
It would not have made sense in any case to just paint him as the villain. The Solas situation is incredibly more complex than black and white.
"Simple killing is a warriors job. The real dangers of the fade are PRECONCEPTIONS, Misplaced TRUST, PRIDE. Keep your wits about you, mage."
Lavellan: I can't wait to meet your family! But I'm a bit nervous...
Solas: As you well should be.
I hope so too! You see the name "Ghilan'nain" and it sounds so UwU :3 and cute, but in reality its a monstrous being
It's definitely not Elgar'nan. His figure has the shape of Dirthamen's vallaslin.
1. The chantry situation
2. 2 old gods were found
3. Weissaupt is at war with orlais' warden. (But could be much worse)
4. Tevinter has been re attacked by the Qunaris and is in political/internal chaos which can lead to World war.
5. Orlais potential dispute/scheming.
6. Kal sharok
7. The warden's cure quest.
8. Old god/Flemeth/Solas
9. The titans are awakening.
10. The forgotten ones are returning but something is off
11. Outcome of the architect.
12. All around alliances depending on DA, DA 2+ inquisition.
13. Sten's return+great dragons
14. Sandal
15. The potential survival of the one left behind in the fade depending on who you left. (Lore notes were given+DA2 flemeths advice)
"The 'peace and comfort' of my reign"...
the voice sounds awfully similar to Dorian which makes it even more interesting
@@wojciechciagaa7723. No it doesn't.
@@SeventhheavenDK well maybe not exactly Dorian but it absolutely hear Ramon Tikaram there.
@@wojciechciagaa7723 I hear Patrick Stewart using a bit of Shakespeare's bad guy voice.
Ghilan'nain going from this deer-like innocent goddess to becoming a fucked up monster-maker is such a cool twist I did not expect.
@@abbypierce4196 I know, before inquisition I never would have expected that the elven gods were really the true villains behind everything.
OR
Mythal tricked Solas and the other gods ended her to save the world and she’s the big bad. That was my running theory for a while.
Mythal as the actual big bad would be a hell of a twist and I wouldn't be mad if that ended up being the case.
Mythal was not big bad, but may be after her death she become this.
And then she tricked Solas.
Yes, I want this to end it so I can see the end before I'm old and grey
They called you a madman... and what you predicted came to pass
hahah it's true!!!!
The game play reveal definitely gives more credence to this theory
Bioware loves big plot twists. It makes sense that Solas is the red herring.
What if the monster is a warped Andruil, made by Ghilan'nain 😂
This video aged well
hahahah it really did, didn't it!
@@JackdawYTI love that you still read comments on older videos 😄 some RUclipsrs just don’t seem to bother
Absolutely, love seeing what you all say, thank you!
We also have wildcards villains, knight-Commander Meredith is alive, the architect (if you let him live) and the looming invasion of the Qun
What about the "Forgotten Ones?" They were specifically evil and presumably trapped with the other elven gods.
Could very well be that they are one and the same.
they're in the Void, whaterver that is, not in the Fade if legends are to be believed.
That will probably be a DLC story right there
Considering that one of the Evil gods is depicted as something of a great sea monster/Leviathan emerging from the depths, I wonder if in terms of gameplay the returning Elven gods will be like the dragons of Inquisition - big epic fights around the world..
Epic...? 😂
Solas better pull a Loghain and team up with us against the Evanuris.
Elgar'nan and Mythal seem like the only two who would fit.
as for yin and yang/perfect opposites it could be falon'din and dirthamen, no?
@HalonOfficial Aren't they both male gods, though?
yes i just thought out loud 🤔@@KtheSongbird
"One day the magic will come back. All of it. Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part, and the skies will open wide. When he rises, everyone will see." The veil will fall and Solas is not the main villain.
These gods sound like:
Gods: "We have come to SAVE you!"
Elves: "Hurray! it's the Elvhen Gods!"
Gods: "From YOURSELVES!!!"
Elves: "Oh no, it's the Elvhen Gods..."
When you see the world teetering on the brink, jump, only then will you know if you are a dragon
Your tinfoil hat paid dividends this time! Well spotted. 😀😀💜💜
Then our protags will kill Elgar'nan, and accidentally fulfill Mythal's will.
i like this!
@@HalonOfficial Thanks, buddy!

This would be neat. I'd love to see a 3 act structure like DA2 with multiple big bads.
How I clicked so fast. Man this drought is insane🤡
Great vid jack, tons of food for thought.
I always figured there would be something bigger than solas that rook has to face, thanks for another video jackdaw!❤😊
My theory is that in order to fight these elven gods we’re going to have to power up to be adequate or adjacent to Godlike status or find magical weapons, and such that give us an equal footing against them
or we can convince solas to help us find the forgotten ones the elven gods that he and the evanuris banished into the void
two groups of over powered mages head budding and we cheering behind them, lore wise you should not be more power full than the first elves and this wont break the lore
also it can bring again the matter of the source of the blight into the story, the forgotten ones were banished into the void where the blight may have come from they might know what the hell it is
The veil will be destroyed during the intro to the game. We will have origins like the first game, during the origin stories the veil will be destroyed release some evil gods. In the end of the game solas will help fix what he broke.
6:16 I bet it's Elgar'nan!
I didn't notice the growl in the background. Does Solas have a forgotten one? Weren't the forgotten ones locked up with Elvan gods?
I hope we’d be given the choice to kill him or not instead of being forced to not kill him
my guess
first act probably will involve rook getting support and strength to fight solas
second act is the veil torn, and fighting solas? possibly the reveal of an evanuris
then third act involving fighting that evanuris.
Can you not hear well? It's Illidan talking, Illidan is the end boss in Dreadwolf.
I hope that Solas joins back. After he drops the veil. As like another “whoops. I can help you kill the elven gods. Lemme back into the fold.” I can see it being a plot point. A mutual goal.
That would be so good
7 arch demons, 9 elven gods, -2 with Solas and Mithal, -5 from previous blights, archdemons = elven gods. Only 2 elven gods left. The slept in their dragon forms and whispered to the blighted who were connected to their holy city from the original corruption. They may align with the forgotten ones. Mithal was absorbed into Solas, but she does have a piece in either the inquisitor or Morrigan
I totally agree with this assessment. I honestly think we're going to be facing down two of the Evanuris if not all seven.
my theory of the 2 figures is that its one of 2 sets, either its the twins Dirthamen/Falon'din..OR its the forgotten gods awakening, the wone with the crescent-shaped headpiece looks alot like Mythal/Flemeths horn-shape
Elgar'nan is the maker change my mind
would make sense as i'm sure Andraste was Mythal.../incarnation of mythal.
I'm so hyped for this game. Gonna 100% all the games on Nightmare between now and release.
Based on this video, I believe the events will go as follow:
Act 1- The player character (for one reason or another) works with the inquisition to track down solas.
You mean the two dudes at the end of the gameplay trailer standing behind Solas?
Most recent codex entries & in-game lore hint at the big bad being something trapped inside The Stone, that the foolish evanuris almost unearted when mining lyrium.
DA:O already warned us about it with the The Gangue Shade codex entry and an obscure quote from an easily forgetable npc, Ruck: "Grey like the stone. Guardians against the darkness".
You know what I never thought about? What if The Dread Wolf is literally a demonic wolf that is the guard Liam of the black city similar to how Cerberus guards the underworld?
That was exactly what I was thinking. Making Solas a villain would be kind of misstep since he is a grey character with potential redemption arc
Solas is an anti-hero, like Logain. It would be neat to be able to recruit him like you could Logain to fight the actual evil villain.
Considering that all the talent from da orgins apparently work for larian now BG3 is what Dragon age was supposed to be
I'm thinking Taash will be the betrayer . I am thinking she's a relative or friend of the vidissalla out for vengeance??
I think solas is still a major villain but we form a sort of "enemy mine" alliance with him to take down the 2 evanuris
I love your goofy outros jack, always make me laugh a bit.
hahaha aw thank you! So glad you get a laugh out of them!
The head piece of the female deity looks like drawn bow, and the Andruil vallaslin from DAI has the same shape.
I’m hoping they don’t kill off a lot of major things like old gods or eleven gods off screen etc
I kind of wondered if the voice at the end was the high archon of tevinter
I wonder if we’re overlooking the forgotten ones?
Ah so much to think about until next summer
I have the theory that elganart is the 'maker" , he speaks with Andraste
God, I hope Mythal returns (yea Kate is gone) but Flemeth seemed to be transferring some of "her energy or self" into the eluvian (hoping for a new Mythal, a new body and voice actress).
i would hate fighting solas his the best character ever made by BioWare in dragon age
Late to the party but my bet is that they are Ghilan'nan and Falon Din and that Solas turns out to have once been Dirthamen.
I think it would be a returning Evenuris such as the entire elvhen Pantheon
I love watching this video in Aug 2024 lol 😂
Can't wait for this game.
I think the Titans / blight will be the real threat, bigger than Solas, Mythal and the remaining Evanuris
