Good thing it was a T-850 that faced off against the T-X, the extra armor plating kept it from getting "one shotted". If it was a T-800 it would have been over.
@@JapanesePeppaPig Yeah Skynet designed the T-850s specifically to combat the human resistance since they used plasma based weapons and made short work out of T-800s. The issue is that captured T-850s could hold their own against a T-X which Skynet probably didn't forsee.
@@JapanesePeppaPig T-X did destroy a T-800(armed with a plasma gatling) and a T-1002 in the Before the rise story arc. A prequel to T3 showing Skynet testing the T-X's combat capabilities, before sending her back to the past. I'll be posting that in my channel, after I do a T-1000 video.
Rise of the Machines has some of the BEST sound effect design in my opinion. Screams with explosions, and just sounds mixed with other ones to give them a more dramatic feel. I can’t say I’ve heard this utilized in any other film I’ve watched but I hope it has been/is done more in films.
Honestly T3 should’ve just been protecting her (and revealing that she was The Resistance second in command) against a female T-800 instead of trying to outdo the T-1000 which they tried to do with the T-X

I notice that the T-X is an upgrade to the T-1000. While the T-1000 had superior shape shifting abilities shots from a shotgun like that would stagger it and tear bits off it. Gun shots couldn't end it by any means but they slowed it down. Meanwhile, with her solid inner frame, they couldn't even do that.
Its still a sensible upgrade. The T-1000 was *just* liquid metal with a CPU presumably somewhere inside, probably floating around to avoid damage, while the T-Xs solid frame looks like a step back, it does add the ability to mount advanced weapons, and the liquid metal shell can act as protection for the more fragile parts of these weapons......which is only semi-ideal, because when in use the weaponry is vulnerable. Still, better to have it and lose it than to have never had it at all.
@@builder396 More than that, the T-1000 was feared by skynet to the point where it refused to mass-produce for the fact that it is what it is. Itt doesn't have a CPU, much of it's network and power is distributed across on a nanoscopic level with the mimetic polyalloy, in short: It's one big brain. With that in mind, it would also mean it could become self-aware and turn on it's creator, like what skynet did with humanity. But with the T-X, a central coded CPU and power source allows it to use the polymimetic alloy without much compromise for skynet. So yeah, it's an improvement in every sense of the word.
@@spectal715 The T-X was the last terminator model that actually felt like a uniquely logical improvement from its predecessor. The other ones like the T-3000 and the rev-9 felt like unoriginal, and overtly fantastical rehashes of the same ideas and concepts that had already been used.
I thought Nick Stahl, Clare Danes and Kristanna Lokken gave solid and enjoyable performances and Arnold was great, of course. The chase scene was amazing

@@rangerbubblegum7509 I think there is a big difference between "Good movie thats overshadowed by the original", which is definitely where T3 falls into, and of course Matrix 2 and 3, SW 1-3 as well as plenty other franchises, and the modern day movies that are crapped out with no love for the franchise, but rather because in an established franchise they already have their beds made and box office success is more or less guaranteed. Dark Fate definitely falls into that. Its execution is truly mediocre, writing, acting, the whole bunch except the CGI (thats good in most big budget movies, so thats hardly an achievement), it just ignores any previous movie that was inconvenient, and, an affliction thats all too common among recent movies and series, a strong case of using a strong, too strong, female character as a smokescreen for all the bad writing. Its still a bad movie by any objective metric, not just in comparison with better predecessors. I could also say a lot about Genesys. The plot was far-fetched at best, their casting choices for all main characters were beyond questionable (Sarah Connor is tiny, made worse by the sometimes huge weapons she handles, Kyle Reese is a giant who had protein shakes for every meal for years, and John Connor looks more like a sleazy door salesman who had a disagreement with a car once than leader of a post-apocalyptic resistance; especially right after Christian Bale had the role and absolutely nailed it), and the idea for the T-3000 was just confusing and doesnt stand up to scrutiny (if you can send nano-fied John Connor back in time, why not Skynet? Does it need to "convert" a human? Why? Wouldnt it be simpler to just make the material from scratch like a T-1000?). Youre right that nostalgia is a powerful emotion. Thats why movie studios abuse the living shit out of it to bait us into cinemas. Theyre doing the same thing with social justice by baiting people with diversity, and so forth. But the underlying movies and shows are mediocre at best if they need bait as a crutch.
I always really liked T3. It was good, but not as good as the first 2. But it’s still good, and the ending was fantastic with the machines coming to power and emerging as the victor.
Joe Dirt , same, I kinda wish they would make a movie based on the video game Terminator Resistance. It was the future war type of theme that everyone wanted where the Resistance finally shuts down skynet. We should email James Cameron and ask him to take a look at it and see if he gets any ideas.
I appreciate how in each of the first three movies, the durability of the hostile Terminator is always established by how they react to having a shotgun emptied into them at point blank range. The T-800 gets knocked down and takes some minor topical damage, the T-1000 gets knocked down but takes no lasting damage, and the T-X barely even acknowledges getting hit at all. Simple elegant way to show how tough the antagonist is from movie to movie in a series.
@@chrisstanley9477 actually no. I'd say T1 and T2 are on par with each other in terms of storytelling, they serve different purposes in the franchise but are very well connected. T2 has better music, better action, better budget but that doesn't make it better than T1.

Anyone notice the TX stays straight faced and emotionless throughout the movie until the very end it gets a liquid metal face then starts screaming in anger then shows fear right before it's killed???? I always found that strange
The only Terminator that didn't show fear prior to termination was the T-800 from the first movie. All the subsequent models (and ironically the newer ones) displayed fear when they realized they were about to be destroyed.
I don't know why people hated this movie so much. In my opinion she was the deadliest terminator ever. What normal guy wouldn't fall all over themselves for her. They'd never see it coming.
0:09 Here we go with the throwing again. Although, she kinda had a reason. John Connor is her primary objective so killing Catherine would have decreased those chances at that moment.
Actually, not entirely. The TX's primary objective is to kill John's co-commanders and lieutenants since John is living off the grind and therefore Skynet can't trace him anymore. And if she knew that Kate was responsible for sending the T-850s back in the first place, she would've definitely killed her first.
@@SoldierOfFate That is true, but she went back to Skynet's prime directive upon discovering John's DNA in the vicinity. The lieutenants were off the hook at that point.
As others have pointed out, she didn't try to kll her (at first) because she was trying to find out WHERE John Connor was. She flat out questions her about his location in this scene, so you KNOW that that's why she didn't kill her.
Imagine John's reaction when he saw the terminator and realized that judgment day would be inevitable. Because of this, I feel sorry for this character, he dreamed of living normally all his life.

Good thing it was a T-850 that faced off against the T-X, the extra armor plating kept it from getting "one shotted". If it was a T-800 it would have been over.
03chrisv yeah that I heard someone say that a tx destroyed a t800 , t900 , and a t1000 only using its cannon thing

Very noticeable. Lots of care went into the production quality of this movie.
I really liked Kate Brewster's character. She reminds me of T1 Sarah Connor. And some of her scenes are pretty hilarious.
The screaming lol
@@ladymafia7010 Her screaming were some of the most hilarious moments in this movie lol she's very funny when she's mad

Tx vs t1000 vs rev 9. Who would win 😁
@@jaycahuenga6416 definitely the t1000
@@builder396 Strictly speaking, T-1000's entire body was its CPU.

3:25 I love the detail that the pellets bounce off the endoskeleton, but also leave marks on the liquid metal.

With the recent additions to the franchise, I think this film has aged really well haha. I personally think 1, 2, 3 were the good ones now. This film was still solid and well made.
Critics did actually like Terminator 3 at the time. It was seen as not particularly impressive compared to Terminator 2, but I think the script was quite solid, and the movie is overall fairly well put together, with decent if not amazing action scenes.
@@syncmonism its actually the same with salvation and dark fate. both solid movies with great action scenes but sadly they are terminator movies and thats why the public hates them.
give it a few years and people will appreciate even dark fate
@@rangerbubblegum7509 how is it the same? The critical ratings are not the same at all with T3
@@chase_saddy that part is maybe not the same but i was referring to „solid script, well put together, amazing action scenes“.
i learned that even the most hated movies, games, etc. will be appreciated over time especially if you give the people something new to hate. nostalgia is a powerful emotion
2:52 well, this aged badly.
Not really.
He was still important here.
@@NeoConnor1And all Terminator productions before Genesis
I appreciate how in each of the first three movies, the durability of the hostile Terminator is always established by how they react to having a shotgun emptied into them at point blank range.
The T-800 gets knocked down and takes some minor topical damage, the T-1000 gets knocked down but takes no lasting damage, and the T-X barely even acknowledges getting hit at all.
Simple elegant way to show how tough the antagonist is from movie to movie in a series.
Dark Fate makes this look like a masterpiece!

bagsikdangal so is there a terminator stronger than the tx?
You can tell from John's sheer terror that he knows it's a more advanced model: he can see the mimetic pollyalloy along with the endoskeleton
This was such a good movie, compared to everything that came after it. T2 was tought to follow, but even when I first saw this back in the day, I really enjoyed it.
Anyone notice the TX stays straight faced and emotionless throughout the movie until the very end it gets a liquid metal face then starts screaming in anger then shows fear right before it's killed????
I always found that strange
It is self aware, it was a fear response
Then why no emotions as any of the human clones ?
Emotions are a dangerous thing for a soldier to have, they make you vulnerable.
The only Terminator that didn't show fear prior to termination was the T-800 from the first movie. All the subsequent models (and ironically the newer ones) displayed fear when they realized they were about to be destroyed.
It had failed in it's mission.

Holy shit. T3 is almost twice as old as T2 was when T3 was released. Time flies.
