  • Jet Ski fishing for bluefin tuna off the coast of Oceanside CA.
    Tricky conditions at first, but things turned around for the better. Ended up being an epic day on the water, and came in with a beautiful bluefin just shy of 100 pounds. Can't ask for much more than that! One of my most memorable days from last season, and I can't wait for summer 2024.
    Thanks for watching,

    Where do you draw the line for wind/swell/period to not go out on the ski?
    Is it usually a few weeks out of the year where tuna are within ski range or is the window much wider?

    • @ReidRunner
      @ReidRunner  5 месяцев назад

      Thanks! Yeah always like getting out there and away from everything on a little solo adventure. The double kill bag works great. Especially if I'm out there for a really long time on a hot day keeps the ice nice and crispy, and I can always pull the inner bag out if I get a couple big boys and need the room. This day was't too far out, about 10 miles.

    @gzhou103 5 месяцев назад

    hi, how fast do you drive jet ski on open ocean? what is your setup range?

    • @ReidRunner
      @ReidRunner  5 месяцев назад +2

      Typically not going very fast when I'm out looking around for fish or birds. Around 20 miles an hour I would say. And slower obviously if I'm trolling but for the most part if I'm searching between 15 and 25 miles an hour. Also depends on the conditions and how bumpy it is. And if I'm carrying beat that's an added factor and I'm usually a bit more smooth with my driving.
      With the three 5 gallon gas cans high I am usually able to do about 130 miles or so. I just finished making a new system for fuel on the back which carries more and I should be able to do about 180 miles.
