I cant ever do the fooling myself part. Pretending someone else has my issues might do the trick I guess. Empathy hopefully works.

I feel those advices ! Always worked better with friends or people around. I've also newly allowed myself to do what I feel like doing before doing other tasks and I feel so much better and less tired at the end of the day ! Don't blame yourself for not being a productivity machine and love yourselves yeah

Thanks for this breakdown! I like the perspective you offer to resolving being stuck. Basically, before addressing the tasks you procrastinate about, address the emotion of dread evoked by the tasks. If a list of four tasks feels like touching a hot plate, don't force yourself to touch it. Modify the list to become less hot-platey by reducing their number and arranging support. 👍

I really like the part about executive and emotional dysfunction getting in the way. I think that's a big part of the ADHD struggle. Once we get passed all the negative self talk, self doubt and actually start doing the thing, we can actually start enjoying the process, and it can be the best feeling ever. Real or artificial deadlines can be the key to continued flow state.

Your advice is amazing, it's as if you're talking about me to me, you know what I'm saying?😂 The last one in particular really hit home, I just don't know how to start to begin with so I abandone the job all together (hot stove😂) and this is how my writing career crashed and burned💔 I don't think I'll ever be able to finish a nevel, but perhaps I'm being pessimistic? I don't know.
Anyway, love your content ❤thanks bunch.

I personally tend to get stuck most in the morning, if I don't have any appointments. I have noticed that that's caused by the huge list of things that I pile up in my mind on busy days for these special free days, when I "have all the time". One way to combat this is to sit down with my favourite pen and write down all the things I actually want/think I can/need to do today in detail. So instead of just "do laundry" I write: collect and sort dirty clothes, turn on washing machine, empty the drying rack, put dry clothes away, hang up wet clothes etc. If the resulting list of things is too long (which it often is) I start crossing off things that don't need to happen today. For example I have to empty the drying rack in order to hang the wet, clean clothes, BUT I do not have to fold and put away the clean clothes. I can just put them in a semi-neat heap in a bag or box or even on a clean table. That way I conserve my energy for the most important steps and can do the sorting and folding on another day or in little sprints over the course of a few days. If after all that I still feel stuck, I write down tasks like "eat breakfast" because on days like that I tend to forget to eat and then wonder why I feel drained. So I add that and start with that task. If I already ate that day, I find the easiest task on the list and start with that and if there are no easy tasks I think of one and write it down. I often need an easy win to get me unstuck and once the ball is rolling and I got up and moved a few paces in my apartment, I usually feel a lot more capable of tackling my tasks. I hope this helps anyone. Writing this comment has certainly helped me to reflect on my process a bit and remember to do this more regularly again because I do tend to occasionally forget that this strategy works for me :D

oh and also: When I have very busy weeks I have now started to include things I want to do for fun as tasks for my free days. I often think "man I really want to play that game" but then in the evenings after a long day, I am too tired to properly get immersed in a huge open world game. So instead I schedule time for that and plan ahead when I can play. This helps me get over the "I want to play now and do nothing else" because I know that there is a space reserved for it and I will play it, but I need to do things xyz before.
Also reminder to myself: Never schedule tasks to do after playing. It doesn't work. You will not stop playing Horizon Forbidden West to do a task! Cook dinner before you start playing so that when the hunger kicks in "suddenly" aka. you start to finally notice it when the hyperfocus wears off, you can just throw it in the microwave and eat it right away.

The ideas are not bad, but for my taste its far too much talk and to fee facts. Even on 1.5x speed I had force myself through the vid. But thanks for the effort and the core ideas!

I found what you call "the talk" valuable because it breaks down the core experience in a very relatable way. I don't think I'd be convinced or engaged by a list of dry facts in something that is so individual. But to each their own, and I understand that preferences for content and presentation may vary. Hope you find the combination that works for you!
