At the 2 minute mark, if you whip eggs with the yolk long enough it will turn into a creamy texture like we see in mine 2:09?

I have just made this cake using your recipe and it tastes quite nice. I live in Malaysia so I have added topping cream to whipping cream (1:3 ratio) just to make sure the cream doesn''t melt too quickly. It tastes nice and looks lovely... I didn't whip up the cream again before pipping so it doesn't look as good as yours. My daughter and I love this cake anyway and it brings back memories I have with my Japanese friends while we were at university.
This is relaxing in so many ways. From the way you prepare the desserts, the order, delicacy, even in the sounds of the preparations!
Not only you teach how to cook but also you help me to relax and sleep. ☺️❤️

最近おかし作りにはまっているのでこのショートケーキが作れるようになるまでを目標に頑張ります😁

made this cake for my friends and they absolutely loved it! i would totally recommend making this.
i just changed some things.
for the cream, i whipped 350g of whipping cream with 32g of sugar and a bit of vanilla extract.
i added raspberry flavoring to the syrup but we couldn’t really tell.
the strawberries weren’t so good so after slicing them, i let them sit in sugar.
for the decoration i also added blueberries on top.

I tried to make this for my sister's birthday and it was really good! The cake was soft and moist, and it wasn't too sweet. Thank you for the recipe, will definitely make this again!

@@lauraleon1809 I would suggest making it the day before, so it gets time in the fridge to cool. Personally, it was better to put it in overnight to freeze because I put a lot of “frosting.” But I guess it depends on that. Have fun making it!

I tried out this recipe earlier and turned out pretty well! The only thing I'd recommend is to definitely use a small cake pan. I used a 9 inch one and it was too big so the cake was very...short.
What size would you recommend? Im thinking if making it for my friend for her birthday next month
@@pastrycookie8080 probably a 6 inch. Any bigger and ur cake will end up very short

@@valerypek4845 Having made genoise cake several times now (genoise cake is the base of this strawberry shortcake), I understand that we need to whisk the egg-mixture batter for quite sometime until it reaches the ribbon stage (i.e. you can write something on the batter with the batter drops). For that, it's important to heat the egg-sugar mixture until it's at least 40 C during cold weather in my experience (though 35C may work as well in the summer). Hence yes, Elena would have been able to double the size if she did the bain-marie for the egg-sugar... and the cake would turn out amazing. I'll try this recipe the next time I use 15 cm pan (my pan at the moment is 18 cm)...

I made this cake and it turned out fantastic. Replaced the Western liquor - cause I didn't know what it was - with raspberry Bacardi (white rum with raspberry flavor) and it was delicious! Thank you so much. Will make again.

I'd say it stands for any liquor produced/sold in Western world as in no Japanese/Asian type of liquor (Rum, vodka, gin, etc.)
