From Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide: "Gargauth is a mysterious infernal power who seeks godhood while trapped in the world within a magical shield. " It's one of the possible patrons for a Fiend-Pact Warlock.
I don't think they address this in the video, but I wanted to put this down before I forgot. At the end of the first game, [Spoilers!!] Beej could not have taken the item from Cori and used it in the same turn (see page 9 of the Baldur's Gate rules, or page 11 of the 2nd edition rules). Rules as written seem to suggest that you cannot TAKE items from another willing player via trade, only GIVE it to someone else. If you want another player to have an item on their turn you have to either give it to them on your turn or drop it in a square they can pick it up from. My play group has never found taking or giving as a Trade action to be all that broken.
In Betrayal, some Haunts are advantageous for the heroes if they get triggered early....others are advantageous if they trigger late. Like those haunts that start having voids or gates to hell swallow rooms....on those you want tons of rooms already out when the haunt triggers.
1:57:20 you call the dragon attacking with an 8 but it's actually a 9, 3x2's and 3×1's which would have changed this outcome against the defense roll of 8.
Guys, when something stacks something not on their tile you still roll defense The only difference is that if the defenders win the attacker takes no damage Also, the dragon only attacks once, if it uses it's breath weapon that is it's attack Finally, when a monster takes mental damage like that it's just his actual health that goes down.
I could be incorrect, but the rule of certain items/omens can’t be “dropped, traded, or stolen” does not include dropped as a result of death. So I think the stash (including that golem) could have been retrieved by another player.
I like the 5e version of cantrips, they give you some useful at will abilities as casters and make minor casters such as town mystics a viable occupation.
If the dragon loses it takes no damage from heroes NOT ON IT'S TILE if it LOSES is how the breath weapon reads. It should've taken damage and Cori should've been able to defend, just not able to do damage.
The character name Vort Doormall immediately makes me think of Voldemort, and now my brain is obsessing over whether the other characters names are pseudo-anagrams as well.
I get this irrational twitch when people say "the world of Baldur's Gate" instead of saying "The Sword Coast", "Faerun", or "The Forgotten Realms" because overall, Baldur's Gate is such a minor part of that setting.
And now we have a drow wererat. Played a wererat paladin/rogue once due to a resolution to play a paladin as contrary to the stereotype as possible while sticking tight to the actual requirements of the class because of running into one two many idiots playing the asshat style of paladin. Wererats are like the ninjas of the lycanthrope set.
I love how they forget all the rules and what items and omens they have do once the haunt begins. They have rulebooks with specific rules for what they need to do to win and they don’t look at them. This is a fun group to watch, but do not use this as a playthrough guide. They have no clue what they’re doing.
You also dealt 1 damage when you successfully defended the attack with 8 vs 7. So question. Does Lia get her lycanthropy cured along with coming back from dead.
Brought to you by Wyrmwood, making beautifully crafted dice trays and other D&D style useful accessories. For the low low cost of 100$ on average . . . . . . thats, thats still very concerning.
dear LRR, if you are wondering why so few views for this, you mis-spelled "Betrayal" in the title so your video won't show up on any searches...
sweet advanced copy preview of a new game you guys made my day

Ben's Betrayal is the best game
betrayal at bengineering
Bentrayal
"I go out the door. It's a dead end!"
"Why even have that door?!"
XD
I love that y'all took the same characters as me and my first group chose! I was the drow. Gotta love that Eldritch Blast.

Just want to say thanks for putting the 'spoilers' warning for people, alot of people wouldnt.
Has Ben ever NOT been the traitor?
Tbcw42 A couple of times but he is predominantly been the Traitor.
48:45 "Whoever he is, he's too late, see? The fists of insanity! Hurry up, move the thing... and that other thing!"
"Here, Torskar, read this!" *BOOM*
Also, James, this is a world with Resurrection.

James might only be unconscious...that warlock might succeed at her death saves.

Dagnamit I had plans for this afternoon, plans I say, which didn't involve watching this.
Rassenfrassen rassenfrassen.
Also, thank you. Awesome.
What's the song that starts at about 1:38:02? It sounds cool.
If the dragon loses it takes no damage from heroes NOT ON IT'S TILE if it LOSES is how the breath weapon reads. It should've taken damage and Cori should've been able to defend, just not able to do damage.
The Betrayal series has it out for anyone named Ben. The one game I've played of BHH, I was the traitor.
What??? Two of my favorite games combined??? What's next Ice-cream Beer?
Apparently the House of Blood is specifically warded against drow or warlocks.
Yep, Cori knows her stuff. That's the Lord of Murder who was the father of the protagonist of Baldur's Gate.
Fluumphs were the only Lawful Good creature in the orignal Fiend Folio and they are pretty much useless except for being hilarious.
Explosive Runes are a trap, you usually leave them behind for people to trigger them like they were mines.
The character name Vort Doormall immediately makes me think of Voldemort, and now my brain is obsessing over whether the other characters names are pseudo-anagrams as well.
Odd rendition of the Ebony Fly....it's a mount in D&D and doesn't have real defensive or offensive abilities. It just gives you something to fly on.
Looking forward to the legacy Betrayal at House on the Hill, do you think you guys will do a playthrough of that?
I get this irrational twitch when people say "the world of Baldur's Gate" instead of saying "The Sword Coast", "Faerun", or "The Forgotten Realms" because overall, Baldur's Gate is such a minor part of that setting.
Where is Beej's RUclips?
The ox has been reincarnated into bolders gate

Huh, funny with the new Commander Legend's set coming out now. Though I think it'd be easier if it was dragons and not Mind Flayers
At least it wasn't the Head of Vecna. Ah! Cori knows this story! Cool. (Also, Vecna ended up being a thing in Critical Role.)
Miska must be a college of swords or college of valor bard.
You also dealt 1 damage when you successfully defended the attack with 8 vs 7. So question. Does Lia get her lycanthropy cured along with coming back from dead.
Can someone please fix the typo on this title? It is bothering me severely.
The Meenlock is turning Torskar into another Meenlock! Of course, he's a horrid Baal worshipper too...so not much of a change.
Torskar multiclasses to wizard!
My son is also named Vort.
Y'know, I grew up playing Infinity Engine games and this doesn't look like Baldur's Gate.
Torskar Stonecleaver did you mean traitor
an hour and thirty minutes in and I just noticed they spelled it 'betryal'
1:54:20 DO A BARREL ROLL
Sorry for commenting as I watch. I live in Japan, so have to watch off time. Plus recently joined.
Betryal

Anyone else notice they can't count the numbers on the dice. I counted at least three times they miscounted the numbers on the dice. Cool game though
Ever hear of post editing on youtube
