Curious on how the spl on let's kicker comp on same wattage, and how some are more efficient at lower wattage. Along with woofer size....probably best to do test with a smaller amp...at maximum rms power for smaller kicker subwoofers... same amp different types of subwoofers and sizes.... corner load them....😉

When I worked car audio in the early 2000s in Australia, 140db would cost you well over $4000 and a lot of know-how, or at least another $2000 in custom fab work. Considering we were making around $350/week back then that was a lot of money! Now you can buy it off the shelf.

Hello, can you do a test with a jp23 V2 and a ground shaker solo x enclosure?? I saw this package being sold in a audio shop here in California and I’m very interested
I like to put the meter on the front face of the driver's headrest. It's a great way to measure what your ears will actually hear from their listening position. Placing the meter on the windshield or at the kick panel will always give you higher readings then you will hear from a driving position. I don't know why people measure in these places. Whether you're driving or at a car audio competition, no one is sticking their face up against the windshield or turning upside down and laying their head on the floor. Nobody listens to music from these locations. The metering device it's not listening to the same thing that the occupants of the vehicle are listening to. So what if it gives you a couple of extra decibels at the competition, you're not actually hearing it. I found the most accurate representation of SPL is suspending the measuring device in the center between the two front headrests via string or some such thing. Another way to add accuracy is to break the mechanical connection between the measuring device and your vehicle. You get the lowest Peak numbers doing this, but it more closely represents what you and your passengers ears are actually hearing. You might get 140 on the windshield, but your ears are only hearing 125. You know this is true because 140 decibels at your ears would cause immediate and catastrophic damage to your hearing. 140 decibels is rocket launch loud. Also, 140 decibels at certain frequencies has been known to kill humans. This is why American defense agencies are trying to build Sonic weapons. They are actually quite efficient at dispatching biological life-forms.
Right? I always meeter on the headrest my best was 148db at 24hz at the headrest 1 windo half down Idk how loud it was in the kick maybe 150 or close to it but i never drive with my head in the kick lol so i never was intrested in meetering in the kick lol

id love to see a solo x vs a zv6 in eaches best box and see if the kicker can hold it down like i think it can. im stuck on a solo x, a zv6 or two l7s.
Its by the speaker/Audio company SSA and its around 400 bucks and you get the meter, software and app andbis as good as it gets without going the full bore comp meter route at 2.500bucks plus. Well worth getting my friend just like the steave made meters and the like, stick it to the list pf the fluke clamp meter ect.
I always see kicker solo x in open spaces. How about a true test for us trunk guys with seat up ect. I have 2 Solo X with Salt 4 amp and it does not kick like those open cabin spaces
Now he just confirmed that when he test a amplifier on a bench and it's rated at 3000 rms at 1ohm? On a bench? That means when you put it in a enclosure you might get 2300 rms with good voltage So I always double my power because of impedance rise keeps the amplifier cooler and you have headroom to play with?
Cool looking sub, but the price tag on them just isn't worth it IMO. You can spend $250 on an American Bass XFL budget sub and hit 145s with 1 12" with the same response, Or $500-600 on a Sundown and get higher while being a windy monster. each to their own, no shame is any audio gear as long as it makes you happy tbh. That box is pretty nice though, all be it kind of costly for what it is.

What are you using as a SPL meter?
Its by the speaker/Audio company SSA and its around 400 bucks and you get the meter, software and app andbis as good as it gets without going the full bore comp meter route at 2.500bucks plus. Well worth getting my friend just like the steave made meters and the like, stick it to the list pf the fluke clamp meter ect.
That's AMAZING! 😮😮😮😮
Would you happen to know the break in time on a comp q 12???
Thanks for the contest Big D, I need a new sub. Love some small subs too, looking forwards to those 6.5's!
can you test 21 inch daytona karken subwoofer to see spl and movement under bass
Williston I have a Brax NOX4B amp you should make a video and test. I'd be willing to send to you. Top of the line amp, would be a cool video.
What is the SSA mic on the windshield? I can’t seem to find that anywhere on the internets?
SSA APM-2 is the SPL meter which Bluetooth connects to my phone for SPL display
@@wal I knew what it was, just couldn’t find it online. I thought SSA was the model number.
lol
I found it now!
Thank you!
Didn't see anything about this kicker that makes me wanna buy it.. trashman comes on Tuesday here.. great video and nice box..
Trash man comes on Monday and Thursday here in Florida
I always see kicker solo x in open spaces. How about a true test for us trunk guys with seat up ect. I have 2 Solo X with Salt 4 amp and it does not kick like those open cabin spaces
When are they going to release the 10
I have twin 6.5 in my daily and they also play below 40 Hz
I loved some 6.5 subs!
THE Name Of the song is Big Subwoofer Artists: Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, E-40, Too Short
Can't wait till they make a 8" X 🤞
Song was "Mount Westmore - Big Subwoofer"
Port not out enough for this one but it's nice
Sounded like a E-40 Beat?
Now he just confirmed that when he test a amplifier on a bench and it's rated at 3000 rms at 1ohm? On a bench? That means when you put it in a enclosure you might get 2300 rms with good voltage So I always double my power because of impedance rise keeps the amplifier cooler and you have headroom to play with?
I would love to win this setup it looks nice and would love 4 15s in my armada
Big subwoofer, great song
3:48 Big subwoofer by e-40, snoop dogg, too $short, ice cube
Cool looking sub, but the price tag on them just isn't worth it IMO. You can spend $250 on an American Bass XFL budget sub and hit 145s with 1 12" with the same response, Or $500-600 on a Sundown and get higher while being a windy monster. each to their own, no shame is any audio gear as long as it makes you happy tbh.
That box is pretty nice though, all be it kind of costly for what it is.
You’re skipping a lot of variables in your comparison including the fact that the numbers you’re talking about are done with tones and not music.
What does the jl do??
I can't wait for the 6.5 testing. I wanna run 1 or 2 6.5s in my sonic hatchback but can't decide which one and how many. Best bang for the buck
I inverted my solo x 15 back in the day and gained 5 db
Big subwoofer is the song!
I like the part where it goes.. BOOM..BOOM.. bu...bu.. bubu BOOOM BOOOM!!
Running it in?... lol! All that's going to do is loosen it up and lower FS. Just send it, if it breaks it was always going to break.
Song was “CALLED” BIG SUBWOOFER by snoop dawg
