- Today I'm back in the studio and painting a larger version of a little 'fleeting moment', that was painted 'en plein Air'. The aim will be to keep the bigger impression as simple as possible, whilst maintaining enough detail to hold the viewer's interest!

You would never get tired of looking at that vibrant Masterpiece!
Cheers Nick, thanks!!!
Love this approach. Also, you’ve solved the transportation problem with large, wet works.
I’m impressed how fast you can move along, waaay faster than almost any brush can cover, especially when utensil-cleanings are considered:: one wipe and you have a new, clean blade- while I have to use a *dozen brushes!
I’m going to find a knife ASAP!
Definitely give knives a try -- you'll find an entire new world of expression. Happy Painting!
So stunning to watch you dancing your composition with this amazing colours using your palette knife like a tango dancer his danseuse 💃 🎨 🕺 😃
That is a really stunning painting.
That wild landscape is magical also..
Big knife, big canvass and loads of paint just add Richard Musgrave -Evans and you have a masterpiece.
Lol RTK :-) Many thanks, I really appreciate!!!
Absolutely Beautiful Richard! You’re an amazing artist!
Thank you so much 😀
what a stunner !!! and such a easy going teacher ...much appreciate you sharing
Many thanks Bali!
I enjoy watching your videos and have been using a palette knife a lot more since. The work you create is very inspiring not to mention the opportunity to see your beautiful country's Outback I almost feel like I'm along for the ride. I know these videos take hours to edit and load on RUclips so thank you very much for your time.
Hey thanks Rob, really appreciate the feedback 👍Happy Painting 🖼 🎨😊

Amazing work, love the vivd colours. Brilliant technique, a pleasure to watch the process. Thanks for sharing.🙏🙏
Thanks so much 😊
Your videos have been helping me a lot with my anxieties during this pandemic. I've been getting back to oil painting after years of digital painting, and I miss doing oil from my college days. I love it when you run back to look at a painting from afar - makes me laugh with joy every time lol! Love your painting!!
Wonderful! That's fantastic! Glad I'm helping in some way!!! Happy Painting :-)
Hi Richard, thank you for sharing this vibrant painting. I love it, you made my day. Blessings, and be safe.
You are so welcome Cora! Thanks for watching and enjoying!!!
I just love the colours. I now understand why a pallet knife highlights the colours better than using a brush.
Thanks Anne! Yes, a palette knife is great for highlights 🎨🎨🎨
Watching you work magic with the knives was a joy to watch. Your energy and enthusiasm is catching.
Hey thanks Michele, for watching! Really appreciate 🎨👍😊
Exquiste...wish I lived next door to you :) I've waited to do colour until I could find what I'm looking for - you have brought that into my grateful reality...
Hey thanks Penny! Cheers for the feedback 🎨👍😊
Yep you love that place and it sure comes out in the painting. What a magic moment when the sun hits the hills by itself and leaves the surrounds in shadow. Great..Thanks again, Bill
Oh yes! Thanks Bill, cheers mate :-)
I came back and had a new look at this one. The shadows are so brilliant and just make the painting work. The sky is brilliant and just adds to the mountains. I really like this one. (how does that drone follow you whilst your driving. that's a trick by itself. haha) Bill
BTW, I prefer *this old hat to your (new) topper, tho all wear out eventually.
Also BTW, the bottom band at dusk reads “gray” here in Colorado.
Love the way you preplan your composition to move quickly once the light is exactly right!
I’m a lifelong pro who’s grateful to be learning new stuff from you!
Astoundingly beautiful Richard - your understanding of nature and your colours used make for wonderful paintings - From Scotland, that has great scenery and colour, I thank you for such love of what you put into your art.
Very beautiful ❤🎉🎉 27:04
The image at 2:10 itself is worthy of a R.M-E painting. Ten Thumbs-Up as always, Richard.

As usual it looks amazing at a distance and then WOW, the close up is brilliant! The plein air study still has something slightly different and special about it. Both are fantastic. Well done Richard! Jill, 🇬🇧
Glad you enjoyed it Jill, thanks!!!
inspiring as always, your explanations give me clearer understanding of the importance of really seeing what colours are naturally there.
Awesome Kath, thank you!

‘’Welcome back, Richard’’ :-)
Hey thanks Hartley!!!
Dear Richard,
Looking out my window thinking I hope you are going to have a really nice day and more.
You have excited a grumpy old kiwi to the pleasures and beauty of Aussie bushland. Never thought it would happen.
Because of you and your adventure spirit and love of colour with art, I thank you so much for sharing your life.
I am hoping you the very best and lotsa paint. 👍❤️👍. Cheers from me. H.
@@hartleygabolinscy3152 Hey many many thanks!!! :-)

Fantastic, thanks!!!
Love it! orange my avorite color!!!
Good choice Danielle, one of mine too!
Великолепно.
What a fantastic painting! Just wondering, how long does it take for your paintings to dry?
Fabulous painting as always!! Would it be possible to see the small study you're painting from maybe at the beginning to get an idea of what you're leading to?
Great suggestion Anna! Thanks!!!
Another gorgeous painting! Question - what size is the larger canvas you're working on? It looks like it might be 20" x 60" but that's just a guess!
It's about that size Karen! Thanks :-)
I Find your work very inspiring! I changed to palette knife as a result. I love hat were can I get one?
Hey cheers Roger! It is an Australian Sombrero Akubra! Happy knife painting mate :-)
@@richardmusgrave-evans9886 Cheers Richard!
Lovely work as always Richard. Could you tell me why you have choose to have secondary colours on your palette in the orange and green , and a tertiary in the brown rather than say having a bright primary ie cad yellow and red and cobalt blue with a muted primary say yellow ochre , alizarin and pthalo blue with a white for 7 colours in total... is it just for speed of mixing and the colours you encounter most?
Hey it is just the colours I encounter most!!!
@@richardmusgrave-evans9886 best reason of them all Richard!
ficou show ...
Ei obrigado !!!
@@richardmusgrave-evans9886 which language is that🤔
you calm me down
💞💞💯🎨🎨🎨⛱☕😊
do you ever use your beard as a paint brush ?
Lol! Nice one Steven :-)
