Just wanted to say, this has become my favourite podcast now. I listen to a few other good ones such as Mohammed Hijabs, but Dilly is a brilliant host, vibes really well off the guests, and adds a lot of value to the listener through his playing devil's advocate most of the time. I mean, the Subboor Ahmed and Hamza Tzortzis podcasts were one for the ages! May Allah bless you and make 5 pillars a success, and allow it to grow and be beneficial for the Muslim community.
When shaykh came up north and spent some time with us, he pushed this understanding within the circles of the local scholars, it was refreshing to hear
Although there is no doubt knowledge in science and social science and any other beneficial knowledge broadens one's mind it doesn't necessarily mean having a degree is the answer to be effective in propagating the message of Islam. The best example is the legend, the one and only Ahmed Deedat, may Allah have mercy on him, reward him immensely and grant him the highest place in Janna.
Another great podcast Dilly, Please do number 2 and ideally stick to the topic of revival. Expanding on the "flawed" methodology of groups working towards revival and Shaykhs view on the solution.
Alhamdoulilah I appreciate his mention of reform in Islamic Education . I’m a student of Sociology and I say any Da’ee engaged in the file must have an understanding of Sociology first and foremost and also philosophy for Imams/Chaplains they definitely need grounding in Psychology aswell . Islamic science deals with humanities . Understanding the text and studying the relevant fields in western humanities to apply to the current context is the need of the Hour .
I really wish the Shaykh answered the questions at the end LOL Man.... Show him the other guests engaging in the boat scenario because I think it's an opportunity for us to learn
I watched a documentary about the events of the last 40 years in Afghanistan, and they have had several governments during this time, from Communist to Islamist, one side supported by the Soviets, the other side by several neighbouring countries, all of them came to power by force. And they eventually did succeed to have an Islamic government there between 1996 and 2001. The Soviets were the ones preventing Islam from ruling Afghanistan, they got removed from the map. The US is fighting its longest ever war in Afghanistan, they want to leave now. So it is clear how a true Islamic government will eventually be established, it is really not rocket science.
Even though I like the show. What I dont get is how dilly will talk about his guest in such a high regard (shaikh haitham and shaikh asrar) even tho both have incredibly different views and even aqidah. ?? This is a genuine question
It just shows he doesn't have a cultish or sectarian view of Muslim scholars and gives credit where credit is due. MashaAllah. Btw I spoke to Shaykh Asrar once abd he told me has spoken to Shaykh Haitham a few times over the phone. They have respect for one another.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, or misunderstood, but there was a lot of “you shouldn’t do this” and “doing this is problematic” but not one alternative. Also, I think there should be a lot more respect given to specific topics, and we shouldn’t feel comfortable to mention appearingly outrageous claims without feeling like we don’t need to explain ourselves, comments such as “studying Aqeedah in the classical way can be problematic”, comments such as this shouldn’t be left unexplained I respect the shaikh, but I only have absolute love and blind follow the prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, and despite the prophets station, HE clarified matters, so for anyone other than the prophet who are made to feel like they don’t have to clarify is really problematic. May Allah aid us.

Some good points were brought by the sheikh but the sheikh needs to re-evaluate his thoughts. They are not in accordance with the creed and manhaj of the ahlus sunnah. Establishing of the khilafa is an obligation upon every muslim men and women. Whether we posses the means or not is not a point of our concern. If we accept defeat and say we cant establish the khilafah then how will we ever establish the khilafa. Do you think people will surrender willingly to Imam Mehdi or will he also struggle. Also from his reponses it seems he adopts a "sulhe qulli" mindset. I agree the ummah must unite but that doesnt mean we accept all the abhorent views or stay silent of their deviance. Unity upon the creed of the ahlus sunnah.

Dilly Hussain was too soft with Sheikh Haitham and did not challenge him (at 45:22 ) vigorously on his pragmatic views, when he said all those who want to re-establish Khilafah (by any of the 4 methodology stated in the podcast) "are not very well though and naive". Today is 11/05/21 and #Al-Aqsa has been under constant attack by the Zionists in these last days of Ramadan. #SheikhJarrah is witnessing more ethnic cleansing by the Zionist dogs, yet when it comes to oppression against the Ummah, Sheikh Haitham only talks about duah and qunoot. However when it comes to non-islamic DEMONcracy elections, Sheikh Haitham encouraged Muslims to do more than just duah but to act and vote. Such double standards and inconsistensies.
