The banana fell as soon as I read this 😂😂
Loved the tips here. Something that i've found to be really helpful, especially when working with male clients is to use oil removing paper. So instead of adding make-up on someone's face, it's just removing the oils, causing the skin to look more flattering, in my opinion. I've found that a lot of male clients are very comfortable with this, rather than putting make-up on them.
Great advice, thanks for sharing!
Alright my guy. I've watched DOZENS (there aren't really many on RUclips) "comparisons" between a Pro-Mist filter on and off, and yours is the ONLY one that like... actually shows any difference worth noticing, and sold me on it. Thank you for that.
I really like the footage with that filter. Never thought a filter like this could make such a difference. Awesome video dude!
I know right. Looks smooth, considering to get one.🙏
@@jiniusday4427 Oh yeah
The best explanation I've ever seen. Thanks a lot.
This video is straight up IMPORTANT.
Signed sincerely,
A real live human being with pores.
hahahaha genuine comment
ok this is the best demonstartion of harsh light VS soft light. Good job.
In Davinci Resolve dial back the mid tone detail (MD). This will soften pores and reduce blotchy skin tones. It may also be possible to make a selection of the skin tones and add a small amount of blur. I know this video is about lighting but a software approach may be useful in addition to soft lighting.
Back when film was king the Pro - Mist filter was the go to for softening skin and adding a dreamy look.
Masterclass indeed. Bravo and thanks.
OK I absolutely loved this video. That lens filter is totally new to me and I’m obsessed with it. Thanks so much for just being an awesome person with cool content. I dig it.
This is the best diffusion explanation I've come across.
Awesome Information on Diffusing light.
Brilliant vid. Brilliantly explained. All Killer, no filler. And no fake 'over the top' persona. Instant subscribe.
hands down my favourite videography channel.
Great video! Love all the content you put out there! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Awesome info! Really good for any level of photographer/videographer
I wish there was a ‘love’ button for this video. So much knowledge! Thank you for sharing
I LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS! You’re truly talented
This by far is the best skin softening tips/tricks video I've ever seen
Love the Black Pro Mist tip. I am wondering how it looks in natural light. Thanks Daniel.
Thanks for sharing Daniel
Awesome tips Daniel! Thank you.
Excellent tips! Thanks a lot, Daniel :)
Your videos are always so clean! Thanks brother
Super valuable tips man. Thanks for learning and sharing.
Such a clear demonstration. This is great stuff, thank you!
Very good demonstration of diffusion material placement.
Omg I need that filter!!!! Thank you so much for these tips it was eye opening.
I'm liking this before I've even finished the video. Your content has been some of the most valuable I've seen from day one 👍🏻
Man thanks for taking the time to make this. I've been on the fence about the black pro mist filter but this just sold me!
Awesome video. Really thankful.
Great tips Daniel! Will definitely pick up a Pro Mist filter - thanks for sharing! Fwiw, I've noticed the Neat Video plugin can also be used in non-noisy shots to smooth out skin tones a little bit when you set the sample area on a person's cheek for example. It's subtle, but the noise reduction algorithm thinks some of the variance in the skin is noise and tries to smooth it out a little bit. Haven't tested it out with the latest version of the plugin though.
Really helpful video Daniel.Another way of perfecting skin tone is not to use light coming above but more from the m camera direction. Also, especially for the rough skin a usage of primer on the face can improve the situation. It fills the gaps /wholesome in the skin and make it more even harsh light friendly.
Proud to be the 1k like. Your example showing how diffusion affects light was incredibly simple yet so effective.
Best points covered.
Love the way you teach. With demo.
Thanks! I've learned about light diffusion in that video and the effect on the shadow
I have seen many lighting tutorials on how to diffuse light/look softer BUT nobody was able to explain as clearly/credibly/explicitly as Daniel did jere66, so far. That animated, minimalist demonstration is brilliant, thanks man.
Great video Daniel... Thanks for the info on the filter. Getting one from Amazon right now. :)
Great video and tips as always! Would you say the Black Pro Mist filter tames down shiny skin?
Yes definitely! I was shocked at the result it had when I used it to film my girlfriend. Because she wears makeup, on camera her skin tends to appear more oily and reflect more light- but with the BPM filter it pretty much removes that "shiny" look entirely!
@@danielschiffer Good to know, I'm super shiny lol, so I'll try it! Thanks
As usual Daniel delivers again, good one mate.
Thanks always for the tips Daniel! Helps editing so much.
Tip #4: Moisturize.
Seriously, moisturize.
lol
what is moisturize
@@annymp use sprayer to spray your face or just buy some moisturizer
@@ansondhakim alright thanks!!
Bro I absolutely appreciate your videos, thank you for sharing your content!
THANK YOU SO MUCH ..REALLY BENEFITED !! MORE VIDS LIKE THIS PLZ
Bro I literally asked in a comment on the last video I watched how you got your footage to look so soft and THE next video I click you’re explaining it. I love you. I’m going to buy this filter now. 🤤
Nice, learned a lot. Thanks please continue to share.
Tip 4: Right WB
Tip 5: Using lights with CRI +95
Joaco Carnero where can i find cri +95 lights that fit for studio use?? Thnx
JOVANY THE CHAMP bhphotovideo
Thank you so much for your videos!! they are sooo helpful for us starters!!
Daniel, this is a very cool demo. You asked for suggestions - in the 1990s I used a Nikon Soft 1 filter for female portraits. I worked very, very well. I learned about it from Nancy Brown's book, Photographing People for Advertising - she used it in her photo shoots for Revlon and other elite clients. Maybe overkill for video except special cases where you really want a diffused beauty look. I don't think Nikon makes the Soft series anymore, but they may be available on Ebay.
Excelent tutorial! Keep up the good work!
Another great and informative vid, thanks.
Very useful video! Thanks man!
I learned a lot here. Thanka for sharing those amazing ideas.
Love the videos, and your audio, honestly.. I've a NTG4+ and I'd be curious how you prefer to set yours up. Thanks for all your insight, it's genuinely inspired me on a MAJOR scale.
Great video. Can you do more videos on lighting? Thanks
Going to try and start using your tips for my videos , thank you! Keep it up
Thanks a lot for another great tutorial! Also, could you please make a video on positioning subjects in accordance to lighting? And making use of available light in the best possible manner? Thanks! :)
Bro fire content! Can you do a full review on the Black pro mist and show more comparison in daylight and nightime. I'm considering it the 1/4 or 1/8. Thanks!
man crazy how much your chan has grown, good stuff. been watching you from the start. Go Raps
So sick. Thanks for the tips!
Daniel, I hope you become a youtube star, and start your own school someday!
Great video! Thanks!
Love you brother!
Thank you!! Great job!!!
Awesome video dude✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
Hey Daniel! I have learnt so much more in this video, than any other that I have painfully scrolled through for weeks! I have also just seen your video about cheaper camera products. So, I hope you can help? I am setting up a business for bio degradable glitter and I'm interested in buying a filter for my canon 200d, like the one you have mentioned in this video. However, I dont want to spend a £100 on it. So I was wondering if you could perhaps give me a link on a dupe? I'm doing everything myself and hoping to get everyday people to showcase my work, rather than models. So a subtle face filter would be good, without looking really blown out, but again for cheaper, if that possible. Thanks so so much xxx
Great tips, thanks for sharing =)
Does your Banana Neon *Scratches at level 6 with deeper grooves at level 7*
Very helpful thank you so much. Especially the one to get rid of the shadow... So dope. Imma make African quality looking shit
how often are you using the black pro mist filter? what occasions do you find yourself not using it? as always man, i love your content, keep killing it!
Thank you !
Also avoiding oily skin helps neutralising the imperfections. Some people sweat a lot in camera cause there are nervous or just hot.Even if you dont have face powder you can ask them to absorb the sweat with a simple tissue and it improves the situation a lot!
I've got the Tiffen 1/4 too and so far I love the result not only on the skin but also on the highlights especially when shooting outdoor with harsh sun light. However, banana left the chat😂
That Banana makes a huge difference, put that back up!!!
Thanks for this tutorial... Its helpful
Fantastic tips! 🙏🏻
Great tutorial
you're the man.
thank you.
Very helpful 👌
Thank you
I wrote these all down, I need ALL the help I can get...PS banana light falling made me NOOOOOOOO out loud.
Drama!
Funny pro tip, almost all commercial DP's put some sort of diffusion filter over their expensive cine lenses to crank DOWN the sharpness. Almost every DP I know uses one, it's for this reason a FEW of them use vintage SLR lenses converted to CINE so they don't have that stagnant technical sharpness they need to diffuse, because it's not a desired look by anybody, especially the talent.
Brilliant video dude, as always.
Mark Holtze what is commercial DP?
Commercial Director of Photogrpahy. Just for reference. Daniel bringing the quality tips for everybody :)
I wanted this video from Daniel! Makes me wonder did he read my mind, or maybe I asked and I forgot lol, anyway thanks Daniel!!
Thank you, that was very much valuable.
Thanks for your tips friend, we hope more tricks for fcpx, a greeting from Bilbao, Basque country.
Hey mate, are you always using that filter?
When wouldn’t you use it?
Have you ever combined it to a polarizer filter?
Thanks!
Also wondering this... because i'm tempted to just use it for everything haha.
Wow, that filter makes a huge difference Kind of "mattes" it and removes the glossy look.
Damn this is the video, i've been waiting for
Quality content.
Thanks for the tips! Do we need filter when filming cooking videos indoor?
How can I create your own video? What equipment do you use?
I like it so much.
Thanks!
The title is generic. Wasn’t expecting this masterclass.
Thanks for tips
Dude this is so helpful.
Hi Daniel. Just a question regarding the distance between the light source and sheet diffusion. So how come the cake pan you did still had an amazing soft shadow although the sheet is really close to the LEDs? According to what you showed in this video the wider the distance between the diffusion and light source is, the softer the shadows are.
Free good quality content. I'm here for it.
Congrats bro for 1M subs 🎉
Ayy keep up the great work manggg
Hello! This is just a few months late. I’m new to all of the videography and photography thing. I’ve been watching your videos and I have really come to like what you’re doing. My question is, are you using that 16-35 2.8 GM lens for recording this video? From the looks of all the videos you’re doing you have that listed in all of your descriptions. The only reason I ask is because I’m thinking about buying that lens for an all around lens for portrait, vlogging, videos and landscaping.
that smile at 0:12 made my day hahah
Very nice and informative as always but i got distracted by your banana doing a suicide dive 😂😂🍌. Just kidding. Wonderful video.
