    John, I love that navy stripe polo you are sporting in this video. As far as aging gracefully, I'm kinda ahead of the game: not drinking or smoking and I avoid other people's drama. I just need to sleep more and exercise..

    Hey John thank you for another great video! I can’t tell you how much you’ve helped me. I lost my partner of twenty years back in June I miss her so much she was only fifty six and I’m a year older. I knew that psychologically I was going to have a tough time ahead of me. I immediately started walking up to 10km per day, changed my diet, got some weights and abdominal pads! I also stumbled onto your channel and changed my wardrobe, skincare routine and haircut!! I had my seventh session of counselling last week which although tough I know I will benefit in the long run. I’ve lost twenty seven pounds since the funeral I now weigh 10 stone 3lbs. John I just want to thank you so much. Take care mate.

    John, you motivate me to be a better person. I work very hard at looking for opportunities to be kind. My grandma passed a year ago at 107. Healthy to the end. She died as she lived… with grace. Grace to accept others and love them just as they are. What a better world this would be if we would actually TRY to be nice. I’m growing old with a smile on my face and endless opportunities to find joy in the small things. You bring me joy, my friend… not to mention get style tips for my husband and sons. Thanks ☺️

  • @aaronflohre6734

    100% correct on all points. In my experience happiness, contentment and/or attitude is a choice. The whole world is against you, but only you can choose to remove negative situations and choose to appreciate the blessings in your life.
    Kindness and gossip are very important, too. Kindess to others, even at a "superficial" social level (being nice to those in the service industry like waitresses or store clerks) can make or break someone's day. Gossiping has a luring edge where you feel you're bonding with the person you're gossiping to, but you're also turning that person against the person you're gossiping against. You're creating a community that dislikes (or even begins to hate) an individual. If that behavior lasts long enough, you only have a large group of divided people who all hate each other on some level or another.

  • @mobilepsycho
    @mobilepsycho 3 года назад +1

    Most elderly over 65 are neglected, lonely, and have compromised health. Health complications commence creeping their way in to a more complex level. This is a critical deterrent to wanting to live a serene and positive life. By the way, the reason people are gossiping is because they feel neglected and lonely. One thing I'll say about this pandemic. It reset perspective and reality for many of us. You may have a clearer understanding of who your real friends are. Sunny day people are easy to find. The ones (if any) next to you during the big storm are the keepers. Good luck. This life is so short.

    I'm 70 and a whole bunch of those years were not too easy so I look like I'm 70(+). Today in the store a nice looking mid-age lady backed/bumped in to me, spun around, and began to apologize profusely. I waited until she took a breath, looked her in the eyes, smiled, and said, "It has been very nice bumping into you". She instantly got the double meaning and laughed. It isn't much, but anytime I can make someone smile it takes some of the ache out of me. I enjoy your videos. Thanks

    Fashion is your winning foray my friend, and you doo it very well. While I appreciate your efforts to help dudes become their best, 'Personal breakthroughs' are another lane altogether!
    Identifying and Changing Core beliefs [to create long-lasting transformational change] in the regular Joe's life is not even something officially trained therapists know how to do [don't think for a second _any_ Government rides the cutting edge - that's left to the private sector!].
    1:39 Talking 'trash' about others has absolutely _ZERO_ to do with whether others are talking trash about you. Instead it has to do _fundamentally_ with one's unconsciously learned sense of Identified Self-Value and Significance and can be be a result of the most innocent and innocuous observation as an infant you could imagine. So yes... ask why! And strive for some depth in your perceptions.
    That said, I'll happily talk trash about people who treat me like trash (think there's something there for me to learn... yep. Sure is! And make no mistake - i'll get to it when I'm inspired from within to do so and no doubt look back at what a tosser I was lol... but that's how that rolls right?!).
    NEXT! Being nice to others is a direct reflection of how you realise others deserve the same respect you have looked for _from others_ yourself. - [Most Registered Therapists and Councillors don't know much about how you work from the inside out - they are bound by Government regulatory 'evidence-based' research which always, always lags way behind the cutting edge know-how. Do your research on Time Line Therapy® for example. It's a life-changing process!

    Listen carefully to how a person speaks about other people to you. This is how they will speak about you to other people. 🤨. As I’ve aged, I’ve put up an invisible barrier … if you’re negative all the time, talk trash about others, closed minded about current state of affairs … as soon as I hear that zzzz sound from the fence, my feet turn me around so I’m not anywhere near you. I will not lend you the power to ruin an otherwise terrific day. 🤨. Legend

    Absolutely fantastic topic. When I got divorced ten years ago, I was down in the dumps. Faced with raising my son as a single parent and a load of bills. I read a quote it says “We are the creators of the universe and whether we choose to manifest hell on earth or heaven it is our choice and our divine will”. What that means is within our lives we are in control of anything and everything. Where we’ve been, where we currently are, and where we are going is a direct result of the decisions we’ve made, currently are making, and will make as well as the people under free will we’ve chosen to align ourselves with. In short ditch the negativity and embrace positivity and your life will improve.

    As always John, food for thought. Sometimes letting off steam may feel good in the short term but in the long run it all adds up and there is a real danger in becoming that guy who is always ranting about something or other no matter how trivial. Let’s all make the conscious choice to look for the positive rather than the negative in a situation.

    Totally agree on ppl who breath negativity ! I dont need to have their stress and we have better things to do than to go looking negativity in our lives. Great tips and pointers John. Stay safe as always !

    I really don’t like mushrooms either but I still eat them if I’m at a friend’s dinner party, my wife still thinks I’m a grumpy 63 year old though !
