Freddy is definitely the toughest horror movie monster to beat. But to me, the solution has always been easy. Dream Warriors showed the best way to beat Freddy. Is for everybody to enter the dream at the same time.. and gang up on him. You have to be absolutely certain , not to get split up. This is taking four and five out of the equation. This feels like the best way to beat Freddy. Everybody attacking him all at once. Showing that they’re not afraid. Freddy has power, but you do to. The power of bravery. Let your imagination run wild.
Those kids were fucked. They were *only* saved due to Dr Gordon burying Freddy's remains with holy water and a cross in the real world. And even that was only temporary..
Honestly, if I would happen to know that an evil spirit of a murderer could temper with reality through dreams, I would immediately try to benefit from this and make some sort of a deal with it. I would offer to spread information about Krueger beyond the Elm street, across different towns, so he would get more power from fear that will boil up fast. For this I would ask him to target specific people that have information which can benefit me. He would extract the info I need from my people of interest in their dreams or even make them do specific things in real life in exchange for their own safety. Soon after. I would become amongst the most influential people on the planet with first hand insider information about anything I need. With all gained resources I will buy a whole menu of living people just for Freddy, so he could choose whatever he prefers. Eventually everything will be so cool that me and Freddy will become BFF and reign over both real and dream worlds, and live happily ever after.

8:10, I don't agree with this. Freddy can appear in your dreams no matter how you change your sleep schedule or what you do before bed. You cant necessarily wake up either, as knowing it's a dream won't stop the dream, but it will make it even worse as Freddy would take advantage of your panicked state and would feed on that. If Freddy wanted to, he could chain you preventing you from hurting yourself or tie your leg to a ball and drop you in a endless sea. He's simply playing with his food. Your best bet is to play along and put up a good fight so he won't end up killing you fast enough for you to figure out how he works and how to beat him.
Even his suggestion for the jolt won't always work. Great advice still, as it will usually work, but as a lucid dreamer I have died in a dream and continued to lie there in the grass watching the other people present run from the attacker.
I actually had a dream with Freddy in it one time. My classmate and I were running away from him, and eventually we drove off in a car as he slashed the side of it. By far the scariest dream I've ever had 😅
I heard a theory abt the ending in this film and it makes a lot of sense tbh; since the mom already died earlier in the film, this is most likely just a "flashback" to what *she* saw in her dream before dying. Im 45 now. When i was a kid i went to a haunted house on Halloween in ohio. The real Freddy Krueger was there. Robert England. I walked through laughing at Leatherface and Michael Myers. But when i seen the Hollywood production set and watched Freddy drag a girl through a bed i freaked out. He came over to the crowd and put his knife hands right up to my face. I was hiding behind my uncles leg screaming. Afterwards i meet him without all the makeup on. Probably the most terrifying experience of my childhood.
Went to a Halloween haunted house when I was a child, this demonic character jumps out suddenly in front of you & growls at you. Well, the son of a biatch in the demonic costume got a face full of sand in both his eyes & I forcefully pushed him in the chest while he was screaming for help to flush his eyes with water. The pathetic demon went crashing feet in the air backwards bringing down the whole haunted room prop crashing to a laughable silent wtf just happen moment. “Yeah, my first natural reaction to that situation was to kneel down & grab a handful of sand since the prop was built on a sandy parking lot & throw it at the danger stranger.”

I mean yeah that could work but only for how long your body can last. Honestly the best way to beat Krueger is by getting your hands on some rem sleep represssion pills like the drug hypnocil that exists in the noes verse too take and to make sure that you erase any info you know about or have on Freddy Krueger’s existence because there’s been multiple situations we’re Freddy’s victims that know of the urban legend of Freddy end up getting attracted to the dream killer in the long run. And so, some reassuring tactic things you could do is like reading a book, watching a comedy movie to lighten up the mood in your mind to take the fear away from your own consciousness and forget all about him being in your life etc, or just move away from the area Freddy’s power is in like the state of Ohio in which he is present in that area with peoples dreams and move on with a new life and just getting away from it all.
If I suspect I'm having a nightmare or dreaming I try to read something. Writing is rarely legible in dreams and, even when it is, it changes when you look away. If text is weirdly difficult to understand or looks jumbled you're dreaming. Or dyslexic.
Fun facts: For the sparks, the glove was hooked up to a car battery; Freddy doesn't make an appearance until 41 minutes into the film; The deaths for Tina and Glen were accomplished using a rotating room.
You need to watch the opening of the movie over again. Freddy appears in the movie right before Tina wakes up. It's incredibly brief, but it happens. Unless you mean Freddy isn't truly introduced until 41 minutes into the movie, which is very different. But he did make an appearance much earlier, and that opening dream was certainly not 40 minutes long.
I have sleep apnea and wake up a couple times an hour, so I just have to avoid Freddy long enough for me to naturally wake up... And then start all over again.

@shadowslayer9988 - There actually is a way to do this (a couple of ways actually). You could drink alcohol until you become blackout drunk. Alcohol disrupts R.E.M. sleep, but this would lead to multiple problems later on, physical and otherwise. A much safer way is what Nancy probably would have been doing right away if her doctors weren't a bunch of idiots. After a severely traumatic experience (such as seeing a close friend get murdered) your doctor would probably prescribe some antianxiety or antidepressant medication. These medications have the side effect of preventing R.E.M. sleep, while allowing you to deal with the psychological trauma you had just suffered. Nancy SHOULD have been prescribed such medication right away. Maybe she was and she didn't take it, afraid that it would make her drowsy and put her to sleep. Or they just thought that she should deal with Tina's death naturally. But the antidepressants that trauma victims are often prescribed are far less harmful than alcohol and will prevent R.E.M. sleep.
I think your best bet when up against Krueger would be to look into how to do lucid dreaming so you can have a more level playing field against him in your dreams. Since you'll have just as much control as he does if you can pull it off.
I agree, this is the best avenue. It's not enough to know you're dreaming. You have to practice controlling it. Once you can do that, you can change locations like changing channels, summon or banish items, anything.
Probably won't have much time to practice admittedly considering he'll be after you as soon as you go to sleep. But it'll certainly still help to know how to start lucid dreaming at all in there!@@ShadowPhoenix82

I would actually try to pull things from the real world into my dream. Like, I would fall asleep in rollerskates to make a quick escape, and wearing a jacket filled to the brim with objects that can be used as weapons, and tape crucifixes in the inside of my jacket because Freddy's a demon. I would even sew "You are dreaming" on my clothes.
They tried this in Dream Warriors. Even when they gave themselves super powers Freddy wins via war of attrition. The damage he does is real and fatal. The damage you do to him barely slows him down.

If you don't dream you'll go crazy? Well that sucks. I don't dream. If I do, it's either a nightmare or a reocurring dream, and a very odd one at that.
The only way to stop Freddy would be to be prescribed a drug similar to hypnocil (if a drug like that exists in real life) and to not mention Freddy at all. Those two things combined defeat Freddy if dreams are blocked while also getting sleep and all existence of Freddy is removed it'll be like he doesn't exist. Freddy can't hurt you if you don't fear him and you can't fear him if you don't know that he exists thus taking away his power.
I can lucid dream and have busted out of sleep parlysis. Some situations will always turn scary in my dreams and I know this so I wake myself up to avoid it. Kinda annoying because I just wanna enjoy those dreams.

Does the movie ever explain if the host has control over the dream? Or is it just supposed to be similar to a nightmare where they don’t feel in control? I’m wondering how it works with people who have lucid dreams/are in full control of their dream.

Its actually very easy to defeat him. I once had a dream with him in it and I could tell he knew I knew who he was. So he proceeds to kill everyone but me. Probably because since I knew who he was, I knew it was a dream and knowing its a dream gives you the same power he has there.

Storytime: When I was 8 or 9 me and my dad watched Freddy Krueger and it horrified me after that it was night I ate dinner and went to bed I had a dream about him chasing me and I was by a dead end and he slashed my arm but when I woke up I was crying my dad asked me if I was okay but he seen the slashed on my arm and me and him was horrified after that my dad and me went to sleep I had another dream about him chasing me I asked him in my dream why am only a kid then he jumped on me ane slashed my stomach again I woke up this time I seen a slashed on my stomach it wasn't really big but my dad took me to the hospital and after that nothing ever happened I am now 16 and this still haunts me

Oh this should be interesting, putting logic in the one subject that is even more illogical than fear: dreams in hopes to fight Freddy Kruegar. Freddy is a living nightmare at a litteral sense in the Elm Street Movies. He can control dreams to his advantage. Nancy prepared for Freddy as best as she could for their final confrontation in the first movie (spoil alert: not over all) and Freddy still won in the end.

Went to a Halloween haunted house when I was a child, this demonic character jumps out suddenly in front of you & growls at you. Well, the son of a biatch in the demonic costume got a face full of sand in both his eyes & I forcefully pushed him in the chest while he was screaming for help to flush his eyes with water. The pathetic demon went crashing feet in the air backwards bringing down the whole haunted room prop crashing to a laughable silent wtf just happen moment. “Yeah, my first natural reaction to that situation was to kneel down & grab a handful of sand since the prop was built on a sandy parking lot & throw it at the danger stranger.”

I mean yeah that could work but only for how long your body can last. Honestly the best way to beat Krueger is by getting your hands on some rem sleep represssion pills like the drug hypnocil that exists in the noes verse too take and to make sure that you erase any info you know about or have on Freddy Krueger’s existence because there’s been multiple situations we’re Freddy’s victims that know of the urban legend of Freddy end up getting attracted to the dream killer in the long run. And so, some reassuring tactic things you could do is like reading a book, watching a comedy movie to lighten up the mood in your mind to take the fear away from your own consciousness and forget all about him being in your life etc, or just move away from the area Freddy’s power is in like the state of Ohio in which he is present in that area with peoples dreams and move on with a new life and just getting away from it all.

If I suspect I'm having a nightmare or dreaming I try to read something. Writing is rarely legible in dreams and, even when it is, it changes when you look away. If text is weirdly difficult to understand or looks jumbled you're dreaming. Or dyslexic.
Fun facts: For the sparks, the glove was hooked up to a car battery; Freddy doesn't make an appearance until 41 minutes into the film; The deaths for Tina and Glen were accomplished using a rotating room.
You need to watch the opening of the movie over again. Freddy appears in the movie right before Tina wakes up. It's incredibly brief, but it happens. Unless you mean Freddy isn't truly introduced until 41 minutes into the movie, which is very different. But he did make an appearance much earlier, and that opening dream was certainly not 40 minutes long.
I have sleep apnea and wake up a couple times an hour, so I just have to avoid Freddy long enough for me to naturally wake up... And then start all over again.

@shadowslayer9988 - There actually is a way to do this (a couple of ways actually). You could drink alcohol until you become blackout drunk. Alcohol disrupts R.E.M. sleep, but this would lead to multiple problems later on, physical and otherwise. A much safer way is what Nancy probably would have been doing right away if her doctors weren't a bunch of idiots. After a severely traumatic experience (such as seeing a close friend get murdered) your doctor would probably prescribe some antianxiety or antidepressant medication. These medications have the side effect of preventing R.E.M. sleep, while allowing you to deal with the psychological trauma you had just suffered. Nancy SHOULD have been prescribed such medication right away. Maybe she was and she didn't take it, afraid that it would make her drowsy and put her to sleep. Or they just thought that she should deal with Tina's death naturally. But the antidepressants that trauma victims are often prescribed are far less harmful than alcohol and will prevent R.E.M. sleep.

I think your best bet when up against Krueger would be to look into how to do lucid dreaming so you can have a more level playing field against him in your dreams. Since you'll have just as much control as he does if you can pull it off.
I agree, this is the best avenue. It's not enough to know you're dreaming. You have to practice controlling it. Once you can do that, you can change locations like changing channels, summon or banish items, anything.
Probably won't have much time to practice admittedly considering he'll be after you as soon as you go to sleep. But it'll certainly still help to know how to start lucid dreaming at all in there!@@ShadowPhoenix82

I would actually try to pull things from the real world into my dream. Like, I would fall asleep in rollerskates to make a quick escape, and wearing a jacket filled to the brim with objects that can be used as weapons, and tape crucifixes in the inside of my jacket because Freddy's a demon. I would even sew "You are dreaming" on my clothes.
They tried this in Dream Warriors. Even when they gave themselves super powers Freddy wins via war of attrition. The damage he does is real and fatal. The damage you do to him barely slows him down.

The only way to stop Freddy would be to be prescribed a drug similar to hypnocil (if a drug like that exists in real life) and to not mention Freddy at all. Those two things combined defeat Freddy if dreams are blocked while also getting sleep and all existence of Freddy is removed it'll be like he doesn't exist. Freddy can't hurt you if you don't fear him and you can't fear him if you don't know that he exists thus taking away his power.

I can lucid dream and have busted out of sleep parlysis. Some situations will always turn scary in my dreams and I know this so I wake myself up to avoid it. Kinda annoying because I just wanna enjoy those dreams.

Its actually very easy to defeat him. I once had a dream with him in it and I could tell he knew I knew who he was. So he proceeds to kill everyone but me. Probably because since I knew who he was, I knew it was a dream and knowing its a dream gives you the same power he has there.

Storytime: When I was 8 or 9 me and my dad watched Freddy Krueger and it horrified me after that it was night I ate dinner and went to bed I had a dream about him chasing me and I was by a dead end and he slashed my arm but when I woke up I was crying my dad asked me if I was okay but he seen the slashed on my arm and me and him was horrified after that my dad and me went to sleep I had another dream about him chasing me I asked him in my dream why am only a kid then he jumped on me ane slashed my stomach again I woke up this time I seen a slashed on my stomach it wasn't really big but my dad took me to the hospital and after that nothing ever happened I am now 16 and this still haunts me
