      hehe it is because Colombia has quite a significant African descent population, Colombia is basically the merge of African+Native Americans+Spaniard which makes for a quite interesting pallette of flavors in our food.

    It is usually to make Sancocho or Natilla, and super common for the festivities, since it’s about gathering all people together. Family, neighbors, and even random people just passing by! XD
    Also! Side tip: visit the Plaza de Mercado wherever you might be in Colombia. You think the juice they had was exotic? Then seeing the actual fruits at the plaza is gonna drive you craaaazy! :3

    How do Colombians keep in shape??? Most dishes are very high in carbs and saturated fat surely delicious but damn that´s a lot to burn off.

    • @germancampos1498
      @germancampos1498 9 месяцев назад +1

      ...Basically because: 1.Is mostly from fresh non-processed ingredients, 2. Don´t eat it everyday (these dishes), 3. They´re not used to eat at drive-thru´s or in their own vehicle, 4. They enjoy food: they chew slowly (most of them), 5. They burn it somehow... some of these dishes are for low income people doing hard labours. And finally: 6. Not all colombians eat that much in one day, portions are smaller in their everyday life. Plus: MacDonalds is not a every day routine for them. Their own food is cheaper, healtier and has more to offer.

      What are you taking about? 😂
      Do you even know what are processed meat and sugary drinks that are the unhealthy type?
      There is processed meat in Colombia, but most of the meat you saw wasn’t even the kind of processed meat you might think. The sugary drinks... fruit juices and guandolo (both natural by themselves) aren’t unhealthy. But I agree there is fatty food like buñuelos.

      While there is a growing problem with bad diets and malnourishment (55% of people are either overweight or obese) in Colombia. It’s not about these food specifically. These is not what your eat every day. It really is getting worse as people are less poor and fast food and soda gets more available. Pretty much same story as the US, India or Mexico

      Well, mostly because you're an idiot who doesn't know what they're talking about. Nothing about any of these meals is unhealthy. Nor is it gross. Go back to eating your nasty food. Thanks.
