@@slimdeacon9014 …Sorry to hear of your father’s passing. He was a great singer and we loved listening to him. My best friend, Nick was the drummer for Bo Wagner Orchestra. Our deepest condolences and may your dad fly with Angels.
@@slimdeacon9014 So sorry to hear that. Your dad was the singer of the first band I was ever in back in the early 70's. He taught the entire band how to sing. I did have the pleasure of seeing him at Seven Springs with The Vogues in the early 2,000's. God Bless.
I was born in '83 and heard this in '91 on a cassette tape I got as a second-grader, but I would have loved it even more had I been born in '43 or '48! It would have been interesting growing up in the '60s.
My wife grew up outside Pittsburgh and the original Vogues were the "pride" of Turtle Creek. She remembers them always playing local events in the 60's. The late great Bill Burkette was that amazing lead baritone. Sadly Don Miller also passed away last year. I had hoped that they would have been inducted in to Rock Hall, because their talent and sound was worthy.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke and disgrace to real R&R, Imagine some of those that aren't in there and then some of the Rap artist that are in there. Ridiculous !!
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (you can't imagine how immeasurably painful it was for me to type those words) has sunken to the depths of "diversity and quotas".
@@ukrandr Yes. We live in Cleveland . The Rock Hall is now just a museum. Not a 'Hall of Fame." We don't even get the awards venue, except occasionally. Big missed opportunity to have had many, many reunions, just as Pittsburgh ( TJ) did for a long time. Now like us, the era is dying.
My wife grew up in Adderly Borough, just outside Turtle Creek. My mother-in-law helped out when they performed there during the 4th of July performance. Years later, I took her on a river dinner cruise and the Vogues were performing on the boat. It was a night to remember.
I was a troubled teen in the 60's, unchurched, difficult home....but everytime I heard this song on the radio, I thought of Jesus. The Holy Spirit was faithful to draw me to Himself for salvation 4 1/2 yrs later. But it was The Lettermen version.❤❤❤
we read the same love letter from Jesus back in our teens. I’m 78 and here we are having returned to same sound and spiritual vibrations of our yesteryears praise the Lord Jesus Christ 🕊️
Saw them 2 weeks ago (Aug 28th) at the 2023 Minnesota State Fair with the "Happy Together" Tour. They were outstanding! The rest of the performers were Gary Puckett,The Classics IV, Little Anthony, The Cowsills and The Turtles. It was a Dynamite show!
Even though these singers (mostly) aren't the original members of the Vogues, they certainly are singing the pants off that song, and sound just as good! Bless you!
@@mikewood840None of these sang on the songs they perform live. The singer, Troy, is the son of Stan Elich who bought the trademark, and therefore the name, to The Vogues in 2000. The grey haired singer, Royce Taylor, was in that trademark touring version of the band and came back a few years ago when original member Hugh Geyer retired. The guy on the left, Bo Wagner, is a Frank Sinatra impersonator who joined the band a couple of years back. Sadly, not even close to the original line-up any more; Two have passed away, one has retired, and Chuck Blasko performs with his own Vogues in the 14 Western Pennsylvania counties that the judge allows him perform, to while the trademark group tours everywhere else.
THAT IS NOT CORRECT NONE OF THESE GUY ARE THE ORIGINALS. . BO WAGNER (ON LEFT) WAS A MEMBER OF THE 4 COINS..... ROYCE TAYLOR (ON RIGHT) USED TO BE A DJ IN PENNSYLVANIA TROY ELICH IN THE MIDDLE IS THE TRADEMARK OWNER OF THE GROUP. HIS FATHER STAN WAS WITH THE GROUP BEFOE HE PASSED AWYA BUT HE WAS NOT AN ORIGINAL MEMBER EITHER....... TROY SANG WITH 2 ORIGNAL MEMBERS FOR A WHILE... @@mikewood840
Well there needs to be truth in packaging as it is not made clear that these are not the original singers on the hit records you remember. Someone bought the rights to the name and promote the band as the Vogues which is legally true but not the same folks who sang the hits. For the folks coming to the show, they are hearing a cover band.
Glen Campbell wrote this son at age 5. One of the most beautiful songs ever written. I had the honour of recording it requested by my dear departed friends wife.
I remember seeing them do a concert at the West Park in Franklin, Pennsylvania several times. They were really good. They signed pictures and albums for the people that bought them and even posed for pictures with the instamatic cameras. Love their music.
Bo Wagner coming back to this group was what made them who they are today! Make no mistake, he's the voice with the difference! Without him, they're back to square one!
Such a sweet song, helping me through a hard time right now even though I'm very close to slipping off the edge... But maybe if i turn around, there's going to be a hand on my shoulder to drag me back up?
I grew up in Mc keesport. I remember when the Vogue Terrace burned down My father owned the wrecking yard above Turtle Creek I would love to get them to Vegas where I now live

The original Vogue version was great, but I always preferred the Glen Campbell version released in 1961 on the Crest label or his version released on his 1968 album “Hey Little One”. Cheers
As fantastic a performance as this is, they're 'The Vogues' in name only; the lead singer's father owned the trademark for many years and handed it down when he passed away. He did get original members Bill Burkette and Hugh Geyer on board for a few years but Hugh retired and Bill, sadly, passed away a couple of years ago.

I love this song! The Vogues have my favorite version!❤❤❤
We saw the Vogues minus Bo Wagner in Las Vegas. We hope to catch them again this July 2024
bo is my dad he passed away a few months ago i hope u got to see them when he was a little younger

Give me the old-time performers any day.
@annabelle2ful Oh definitely... when voices were unique and didn't all sound the same, like they do today
I saw them on last year's Happy Together Tour and they were amazing. I'll see them again this year. I CAN NOT WAIT. OLDIES RULE ❤️👌👍
Just saw them last night. Their harmonies are unbelievable

This is my husband's and mine wedding song. After 52yrs I still tear up when I hear it
Bless you both. What a wonderful selection for your nuptials.
What a great performance! Great to see the Vogues keeping the oldies alive!
Oh my they sound absolutely marvelous! As good as they were years ago.
Some of the most beautiful music ever made.
These guys and ‘The Lettermen’ were(& still are) class acts!
Great to see the remaining members still preforming live . They had such great classic songs. 😀
Wow! They're still amazing! Love that song too.😍Oldies but goodies.
They are not original members, none of the guys were originals but they sound great non the less. This might be the best version of this song 👍
How beautiful can any one song be?
Love this song 1958 Sophomore year in high school Mt. Diablo, CA

born in the '50s would be better,,, then we both could have enjoyed the summer of love and maybe woodstock
Always loved the vogues such great harmonies brings back great memories
Mark of good music is its still around today, my music my era GOLDEN AGE
INCREDIBLE...STILL....WITH ONLY 3 LEFT. FANTASTIC.
One of the greatest groups ever.
