It’s very weird to me that the switch is more than four years old, when i remember the switch launch day like it was yesterday. I also remember watching this video a few months after it came out and becoming a huge fan of scott almost immediately.
I've heard a lot of people say you can't turn the console on from the controllers, but you actually can. All you have to do is hold the home button for a few seconds

@@mushman3744 Switch online is NOT virtual console. Yes it does have old games with Nes and Snes games, but v.c is buying and playing all/most older games of your choosing, where switch online is just like 30 nes and 20 snes games.
Switch reverted from using username back to friend codes, probably because it's a handheld console and not solely a home console. Their argument is that this is a more safe system for children, because it makes it harder for strangers to add them to the friendlist. - _Buuut_ then they added the option to add the people you played last with to your friendlist. So it's now really easy to add random strangers. But cumbersome to add your actual friends. Good going there.

My local arcade has a prize counter, and for about a month had a pro controller for 14000 tickets, but when it wasn't selling lowered to 6000, and I got, and loved it. I can't go back to the regular joy cons.
I found that ending particularly hilarious because we actually did end up accidentally buying the Wii U version of Zelda and ended up going back to trade it for the switch one.
Looking back 5 years in, it's amazing to see that almost all of Scott's problems with the system have been rectified. The lame battery life and kick stand on handheld mode as well as the rushed OS and controllers not having power buttons (you can hold Home to turn on your switch) in docked mode were all remedied beautifully with tons of other features that, while no one asked for, were great additions.
still wish it had a browser. just adding in a downloadable google app and some keyboard and mouse support in there and a lot of other things people want (mostly certain streaming services) can be done through that
You could turn on the console with the home button from the start. He just didn't know. It's still extremely lame that you don't have access to the browser and Nintendo has yet to provide a real fix for the controller sticks. Overall, I honestly find it to be their worst console, because of the disappointing lack of accountability they've shown. Their previous hardware was definitely more reliable.

Then my dad said he wasn’t getting it. He got it after I sat there for 10 minutes asking him and it’s the best controller ever
