Fred Hampton was a GOOD ONE for this. Just goes to show you how big of a threat you'll be if you brought everyone together to overthrow anything.
Unity is strength and their scared of that
@@grinchmafia7295 And that's why the FBI killed the Panther's off 😔
@T mac man who you tellin? 💯
@Malakai Jones Yes sir. When it comes down to it, cops will hit anyone who’s protesting their fascist regime. Or kill anyone if they’re having a bad day. They don’t (stop) crime and its fairly uncommon they’ll solve a crime unless you get national attention. The HBO crimes dramas where cops are working on their off days to solve a murder is pure fiction to the vast majority of people. And yet there’s communities of white neighborhoods watching the news about someone who doesn’t look like them, thinking well that’s not my community. Maybe it’s not, but give it 5 year, 10 years. The ultra wealthy don’t give a shit about you either. If it’s you standing in the way of their bottom line, you will find a similar, not so friendly law man at your door. Especially rural white communities. Family farm land will go the way of family convenient stores. Walmart and Amazon don’t give a shit if you’re white. Mega Corporations are already starting to buy up a plethora of housing. And 95% of the politicians aren’t going to help us when we need them the most. Waters drying up and storms aren’t going to get easier. You bettet pray a major disaster doesn’t hit your community, unless Bezos is living down the street from you, we’re gonna be on our own. Unless we stop looking at each other all suspect and realize we have more in common with the person who was beaten or killed by that cop than we’ll ever have with our elected officials. They aren’t leaders. They aren’t in office to help you. They’re there to stay in power.
****I gotta switch to decaf***
Daniel acting was so good in this it’s actually unbelievable. Such a beautiful thing to watch. Seen this movie 2x already in theaters
He is Awesomeee and Fineeee! He is a good actor!, Goood job everyone involved. Saw it on Max least 3 times, streaming until March14th
its good to see ashton sander further his career, lakeith nailed the roll of William o'neal he looked just like him when he had to draw the blueprint of hamptons home

On top of everything, Sean Bobbitt's cinematography in this movie is incredible. Just in this scene, you see how the long shots separate the groups, keeping each other at arm's length. It shifts when Hampton starts moving through the crowd. It stays on him as he walks -- a way visually of bringing both groups together.
I'm glad I finally found a comment praising his work on this movie. The cinematography is vivid on a colorful and emotional level.
Hampton understood the real dividing line in society isn't black and white, but instead bourgeois and proletariat
Mos def
Poverty does not discriminate based on race, but is the biggest tool to unify everyone who is not part of the 1%. Which unfortunately, made Fred Hampton a threat and a target to the 1% class who really run this country.
I never been so glued to my seat during a movie
I know right ✊
Fred was one in a million --so glad I got to meet him (just the once)

I still can't get enough of Sean Bobbitt's work in this film, the best since Roger Deakins in 1917.
I sure hope that this will MUST WIN that Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score and Best Supporting Actor (Daniel Kaluuya). The 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony is Sunday, February 28th at 8 pm. TV channel NBC. Then the nominees for the Oscars will be announced on St. Patrick’s Day.
Im not gonna lie , the whole marching like A military unit is the most powerful shit to me..I feel like judge from the movie panther that came out in 95 started that..I could be wrong
Definitely way too short of a movie
Deserved another hour
Then wouldn’t it have been dragging
I think the director originally wanted to go into more depth about the Black Panther’s charity movements (actual charity not just funding a hospital or a school and slapping your name on it like most celebrities and billionaires do) such as free clinics and free breakfast programs and wanted to more into their ideology but it was cut because of time….although the director mentioned that the producers weren’t really fans of going into much detail about it. Which makes sense, companies don’t want to produce material that will undermine their own economic and political power….I’m surprised how good and accurate the movie was given those circumstances though.
Definitely did not see this coming. But if you think about it, it makes sense. Both groups were poor & at the bottom & treated unfairly & they just wanted to take a stand
Daniel Kaluuya deserves an Oscar for this movie. So does Lakeith Stanfield. Neither of them will get one.
They'll get it... to placate us.
Kaluuya got his. And very much deserved it. So did Lakeith.
Unity is strength and their scared of that. They've been dividing us for years and it's time to unify.
If you are able to unite the oppressed against their oppressors, then you become the oppressor’s biggest threat.
@@davy209 Who's oppressed and who are the oppressors?

@@grinchmafia7295 the working class, the oppressed. The capitalist class, the oppressors. And the Capitalists don’t want the workers to realize this. If the black panthers could unite with these people that have a confederate flag, over a common cause, we can do the same with Conservatives and Liberals.
the difference between that is both the BPP and the young patriots were marxists. Although you are correct in a way. liberal and conservatives would gladly work together in order to crush socialism and to defend the interests of the wealthy.
Conservatives and Liberals are the complete OPPOSITE of the BPP and Young Patriots

@@superduperfreakyDj yeah but they could still have similar opinions and views of things. Like conservatives and liberals both joined together to tear down robin hood for example. only downfall of Hampton was that he was on some all lives matter BS
black only....
No not really is just that he understood that at the end of the day they shared a similar interest and that previous divides made by the Capitalists isn’t the point. The point was is that they were all working class, and they have a shared interest to dismantle the capitalist class. The Young Patriots definitely had issues, but they were also Marxists sharing similar views to the panthers when it came to socialism and Hampton knew this, so mythic racial divides and past actions weren’t important, what was is that they needed to work together and unite if they have a chance to overthrow the system of oppression that divides them.
"black only" is why black people haven't experienced liberation yet.
