When I see people who are in this level of playing, I think of the amount of time they're practicing to come up to such accuracy and perfection.

So glad I stumbled upon this video. I am a new fan of Maestros Florante Aguilar and Michael Dadap. This style of music reminds me of my father and uncles. They all love to sing kundiman and haranas. Some of them have passed on and I miss them terribly but this makes me feel their presence. My brother has studied classical guitar with Maestro Aguilar and has the same passion for Filipino music that my father has. We just hope we spread it to the younger generation. Mabuhay kayo!

Just recently (3 or 4 days ago lang as of today, 1st Oct 2023) na come across dis guitar virtuoso from Cavite (Florante Aguilar) and Visayan Michael Dadap. And henceforth I will achieve much higher listening pleasure with these guitar virtuoso's, one of my favorite musical instruments!! I am no musician but love music so much coming from an musically artistic family. Most prominent is my kuya George Hernandez who has been staying in San Francisco for I think some 3 decades ago.
Thanks so much Florante and Michael et al for sharing these treasures to us ordinary Filipinos.

Thank you for sharing your love and passion for playing the guitar. I always love listening to Pilipinos playing the guitar of Folks song, old melodies, and music from the old times from the 1940’s to 1960’s. Those are very nostalgic. Thank you for playing them. They are so beautiful strumming and finger picking that I think only Pilipino guitarist does especially hand picking for a Harana and love song.
I can feel you guys playing your heart out with love for the glory of the Lord. You will be blessed of your music as you delight Him. Amen.

What a thrill it was to listen to masters playing the classics from the Filipino treasure box. You can really tell the difference when the interpretation is coming from a master. I wish you two can play and record as many of the kundimans (especially the popular ones and adding of course some garnishings from your masterful fingers) so that the future generations can have something Filipino that they can enjoy and proudly share with peoples of other countries and culture. I believe every master is born to immortalize something of beauty or of the higher truth. Once again, thanks for this mini concert you gave us. I hope you can hear my clapping all the way from Las Vegas, Nevada. Your kababayan- Ed Uy

The structure of Philippine Classical Guitar music sounds like mother Colonial Spain; like the Music of Enrique Granados and Isaac Albeniz. Bravo Maestros. Actually Francisco Tarrega a Spaniard is the Founder / Father of this type or ROMANTIC Guitar playing in the late 1800's in Spain.
