Installed these on a riding mower ruclips.net/user/postUgkxetgfkJxfdT_B2vGYP-uNTLaBbim9OKTD . They were sharp out of the box, although I've never liked blade edges that were coated...not quite as sharp as I personally want. Using my belt sander, I removed the coating from the cutting edges and refined the edge enough to shave with them. So far, after three runs, these blades are holding up as expected. Even after hitting a few fallen 1/2 inch or so branches, the edges are still sharp as heck. No edge dings, no warping, etc. As far as installing them, the cutouts were of the proper size and shape to fit my aging Craftsman mower. Very satisfied.

My husband has a graftsman model 917272200 lawn mower. The deck mower cuts out and in after about a half hour of use. Then after another half hour of use it does it again. Do you have any suggestions?
Ann Groves could be many things. When it does cut out you need to see if there is 12vdc to the clutch. If there is then I'd suspect the clutch. Also check to see if the charging system is working properly.
I've had a Craftsman with a Kholer Command 15.5 horse engine that would run great for about 20 minutes and die just like you turned the ignition key off. After about and hour it would start up and run for 20 minutes and same thing. I found that the ignition coil was bad. When hot there was very little voltage coming from high voltage spark plug wire. You could put your finger in the spark plug boot and barely feel voltage while cranking the engine. I suggest having a friend put his finger in there and his other hand holding onto the engine block while you turn the key! Be ready to run, incase it happens to be working fine when you do this test ! Lol 😆 . Anyway, I ordered a new coil from Amazon and its been running fine for several years. I have my tractor modified a bit. Including a full automobile electrical system with a GM alternator mounted under the seat inside the frame where the drive belt goes to the hydro-drive transmission. It has a regular sized battery like group 27 that actually fit under the hood. With this mod it allowed me to install a car radiator electric fan. I attached it to the underside of the hood, so it blows air straight down on the engine flywheel fan. I've noticed that when the tractor has been ran hard in the heat of summer with new ignition coil it has a slight misfire at high engine loads. Like pulling heavy trailer or pulling a drag around the ranch to smooth out dirt roads. When the electric fan is on theres never any misfire and it keeps engine compartment area clean, exhaust fumes blown out from breathing it. This in turn gives clean air from above through the air filter. When you have the stock flywheel cooling fan, it causes dust to be turbulatting under the tractor 🚜 basically gets pulled in through the air filter. With electric fan, theres enough air flow to blast air outwards under the engine. Never gets a chance to turbulate back into engine area. So, as far as these coils are concerned, they are known to fail or diminish their output when hot. Took me a while, with the help of a brave idiot of a friend to use his finger for a volt meter to eventually find this problem! I know someone who uses one of her kids to check for spark on her mower the same way! Rednecks! Lol 😆
Mine did this after I ran over something very hard and had to pull it out away from the blades. Now when I try to engage the blades it will cut off. I'm going to look under the seat it see if this is the problem. I might have damaged something to do with the blades. This is all new to me so I'm trying to figure it out. 🤔🙄
Might want to check the switch for the clutch/brake pedal. Being its near the mower deck area where it could have gotten damaged when you got caught up in something.
i have a 20 horse scotts by john deere i do believe its a 2000 it starts and runs fine but when i let out on the clutch the motor does the same thing this one did. the seat switch has been remove and the wires hooked together. could that be my issue or sould i look at a different switch. Thanks in advance.
I put a new set swich in my craftsman lawn mower it cracks up but when you let off the brake it's dies and if you ingage the blades it dies what do you think is wrong
I have a Craftsman LT1500 that often just dies randomly? Any ideas what's wrong? It is normally when the blades are engaged it seemed last year, but now this year it's doing the same except for when I just tried to take the mower to the shop without the blades engaged, it would start, go several feet and then die again. It would start right up after it dies, but just keeps dying after a little ways. It just cold turkey dies. Not RPM reving up and and down. I didn't think it was gas delivery, but I am going to go replace the gas filter now as I have a spare. Just getting tired of this thing. Smh lol
My craftsman is doing the same thing where it dies on me if I let off the brake or put it into gear. It doesn't seem to be the switch under the seat. I did replace it with a new one. Besides the carburetor what else could be wrong.
i know this is old but yours sounds like another switch gone bad ,mmaybe the gearshift switch but my guess would be the switch right at the bottom of where your brake pedal is under the body ,,check for unplugged or bad switch ....hold that button down with whatever or let it come fully our whicever its suppose to do and see if it works..then you know its in that switch somewhere ,,i know no one will see this but i got to ramble lol
I have a Craftman DYT 4000 rider, it starts up and also ideals but when I take my foot off the brake it stalls out. I checked the seat safety switch and everything ! Do you have suggestions?
yes its the switch down underneath your clutch / brake 4 wires should be going down ,,, just unplug that switch and it should be ok ,,except ...it will start when in gear now ...
I have a Craftsman GT 22 .5 that is doing the same thing but the owner cut the wire on the seat switch to bypassed the safety switch for the seat what do I do.
Check the switch to be sure it will work when connected; if it works, splice the wires back together. Then check the electrical circuits as shown here and on other channels.
Good video!!! I am still having problems with my Craftsman riding lawn mower. When I go to engage/hit the PTO the engine cuts off. Kills the engine. I put a new interlock switch on and still having problems. Still trying to figure out why the mower just cuts power off to the engine???? I know this is something stupid. Any suggestions?

First off let me say rarely have I seen a channel that really broke down issues that may affect a lawnmower. So often people will give instruction but will leave out minor things, which becomes major things when not made aware. Secondly I need your help with an issue with my 2013 Craftsman YT 3000 with the 22 hp Kohler Courage. The mower cuts fine on flat surfaces, even on minor inclines, but, if you are mowing the length of a significant incline with right side (when viewed from behind the mower looking forward) is facing down, the mower shuts down, but if you can get back to flatter land fast enough, it will level out and cut fine. If on an incline with the left side facing down, it rarely stalls out. The odd thing is, if you don't have the blades engaged, you can drive anywhere and way without it shutting down. This is driving me nuts, any help would be greatly appreciated!
