Drury hasn't fixed anything during his tenure, he blamed Gallant and made him the scapegoat to cover his own failures. The core of the team is still a bunch of underachievers.

Where to start , our big acquisition this off season was a scratch last game , Drury is not a competent manager. Washington fans told me the second year under laviolette is brutal stars feel like they don't have to work with the intensity Laviolette demands so the system breaks . Rangers have problems from upstairs all the way to the locker room.

I was at the game against Montreal and the fan base has had enough with this pathetic defense and lackluster play. Hardly any let's go Rangers chants, the fan base just doesn't trust this current Rangers team and for a good reasons. Even when there was only five minutes left in the game, the stadium was silent, which never really happens.

@@Ddeamorin I have the same feeling. Drury is going to make a panic move as the voices are starting to reach him about how the fan base isn't pleased with him as the GM. So I to fear he'll make a panic trade that will help the rangers right now but screw them down the road within a few years. I'm sick of those type of deals.

random question since I know your a true fan but have you ever been to the charity casino event the Rangers host once a year? If you haven't, you should at least try and go once. Tons of current and past Rangers go there and you can win signed jersey's. among other things an it's for a good cause. Talking with some of my idles within the hockey world is just a massive bonus lol. I always talk with Adam Graves and have a signed jersey from him as well. You'd really enjoy it, it's worth going there at least once if your a die heart fan.

I was at the Montreal game. It honestly was a pathetic effort against a team that was the worst in the league, within the shots per game category. Also, Rangers scored three of there four goals on the powerplay. On 5v5 action, Montreal had the slight edge. Both the coaching staff and the GM are to blame. People think just because most of the coaching staff got this team to the ECF, it doesn't give them a pass for this seasons effort the Rangers have given this season. Blow it all up, this current roster isn't good enough an it's too expensive to keep under performing on a yearly bases. If this team hasn't won a cup over the past four years together, then they failed and it's time for major changes. The players seem like they've just began to tune them out for some reason.

Team defense has been a huge issue this season. All five players are skating around like a chicken without a head leaving Igor and quickie out to dry. The team needs major changes but do we trust Drury to do it? If Laviolette becomes the scapegoat then I want Quenville to coach this team. He's been on my radar for three years now. If he's interested then pull the trigger . I don't think it's Laviolette's fault but I don't want to lose out on Quenville once again.

Well, if I have to blame someone in management I would blame Drury somewhat & Laviolette a great deal. I totally agree about those deadline deals Drury has made trading away draft picks for rentals is insane. I'm not a big fan of Laviolette because I've followed Washington a lot because of Dylan McIlrath, whom I've had some interaction with & is a first class guy. I know that players, particularly Kuznetsov, went to the GM & complained about having to play in his system, which they found stultifying. Look at how well Roslovic is playing in Carolina. Brind'Amour is a great coach. He & Paul Maurice are two of THE best coaches in the league! Laviolette has basically the same team as last year, so how does a President Cup winning team go from the penthouse to the outhouse? Gerard Gallant has had many great seasons with a variety of teams & he always gets fired, just like Laviolette. Laviolette preaches a good defensive system but I don't see it. Look at how the Caps are thriving under Carbery. It's no accident.

They have too many holes. 1/2 their D core is garbage, so at this point, there is no way they can put together any semblance of decent D line pairings. Add in the fact Mika has been regressing for the past 2 1/2 seasons, Trocheck is underachieving, Laffy has been pretty much invisible for multiple games now, after signing a massive contract. Kreider is fine on the PP and worthless 5 on 5.

It is a few years since the "Rebuild" and it is criminally obvious that Rebuild 2 needs to get underway. This Rangers team are not even close at being a contender for the Stanley Cup.
They have a core of overpaid , underperforming stars and a team commitment to defence that is risible.
They have a first line that can't score 5 on 5 and a team toughness that is the envy of no one.
Their star players cannot perform in the playoffs as witnessed by their demolition at the hands of Florida, it wasn't even close!
They had better employ good sense with Shesterkin's contract because the team currently in front of him will not be winning the Cup anytime soon so why pay "Igor Igor" stupid money for essentially polishing a turd The Rangers need to build from the centre back not start with the goalie.

Honestly, I love Igor, but we can't keep building around a goalie especially for the money that he is asking for. I believe that we should trade him now that we can get something for him. Carolina is desperate for a goalie we could pull of a blockbuster move sending Igor there. Aiming for sveckikov the type of player that the rangers need. To be fair Carolina has one of the best defenses in the league and with Igor as their goaltender they would be dominate but the rangers also gain a young type of player that they need. Will cuyle and sveck are essentially to this team. Also retool the defense. We need to trade Lingren and Trouba. Build around Sneider, jones, fox, and yes, I still believe in Miller I just think that he's having a tough start to the season.

The season just started, wtf? The problem is not Drury, Laviolette, Shesterkin or Kreider. The problems are What is wrong with Zib? He is untradeable-fix it. Kreider, he is streaky. Also should have been named team captain. Kakko- probably needed at least half a season in Hartford. Shesterkin- he wants to get paid! Unless you think Garand is better, pay him! The Others- Trouba- if you can get a bag of pucks, take it! Miller- hello, he has value, don't wait...Reilly Smith... brother of Brendan, at least Brendan hit guys. Reilly is a below average skater, physical player and can't play a defensive game. Why??? The WORST average player in the NHL!!! Lindgren- Overpaid! Not big enough to be a real thumper. Call Gorton. Drury- needs to pour his hot oil all over this team!
