it can and should be modeled, human kindness..but, yes, basic decency and kindness and compassion *are* inherent in MOST human beings..even old-enough babies have been tested for this quality and the results are astounding..but what *is* unnatural, which can also be modeled and is, too *actively* taught:
human cruelty, racism and and an unjustified blanket fear [and its frequent companion, hatred] of 'the other].' 😐

Her ignorance is quite astonishing. I applaud Tamron for offering space to shed light here; however her "continuous weeks" of learning Jewish and African American history will never overcome her ongoing acknowledgment and walk in privilege and ignorance of diversity and racism. She unfortunately represents many in American who never thought about it, simply because she never had to. Her career was only paused because her ignorance impacted the plight of other, including biases and reality show incomes. Bless her in her ministry of ignorance. I wish her well; however doubt she has really changed.

I don’t understand why people are poking fun at the fact that she has a diversity coach. Have you not heard about diversity and inclusion training? She’s paying money to be taught and to learn. She’s not trying to mooch off a black person’s experience and have them teach her for free.

Natasha Thompson of course. And fwiw, I don’t think the two need to be mutually exclusive - doing training to save face and to become more educated. But people are making jokes as if diversity coaches are fake titles with no merit. To your point, would she have seen a coach had this not happened? Absolutely not. But she is doing it. It seems like she’s learning something based on the way she speaks about some things. If people want to forgive or look past it, cool. If not, cool. But I don’t understand the laughs around the concept of a diversity coach or training.

  • @Naejakire3

She is shocked Stassi didn't have much of an idea of racism, growing up in diverse cities. The reality is thats where many don't see racism. A lot of people's idea of racism is overt, person to person... Ya know, the KKK. When they grow up in diverse cities, they see a lot of Black people integrated and on the surface, treated the same.. Therefore, they don't see it. What's important to learn is that overt racism is the tip of the iceberg. There's also institutional and systemic racism. Only in small town, racist cities where there isn't many Black people are where you really see the overt racism so it makes sense when Stassi says she didn't know.

I'm glad Tamron pushed Stassi and asked the hard questions. She needed that. But I've also read a ton of negative comments. I think there's only so long you can crucify someone for their past mistakes. I don't think Stassi should be allowed back on Vanderpump and I don't have a ton of sympathy for her cause she said and did some really heinous things. But I also think people grow and change and I honestly think she is starting to and that's commendable. Continuing to criticize her and claim she hasn't learned from her mistakes is hypocritical and counterproductive. Yes, absolutely call her out for these mistakes and hold her accountable for her actions. But also be willing to forgive someone whose making a concerted effort because ultimately we've all made mistakes, yes some worse than others. But continuing to criticize someone whose trying to better themselves is counterproductive and extremely hypocritical. She got fired from all her jobs, she lost her agent, sponsorships, and will have a hell of a time getting hired in the future. I'm not saying she shouldn't be, actions have consequences and she has to deal with that and she is. But at what point do you step back and stop attacking someone who is genuinely trying to right their wrongs? I'm sure some people will say what she's doing is an act but it takes balls and courage for someone to own up to their mistakes and do tough interviews like these when they could easily hide away. Yes, she put herself in this position and she should have to own up to what she said and did and she has. What more can you ask from her and from anyone but to sincerely apologize and take steps to educate themselves and to do the right thing? You might laugh at her for hiring a diversity coach and I also struggle to understand why she said and did what she did but at least she's owning up to it and making a legitimate effort to learn and grow from her past. If she wasn't, she wouldn't have done this interview or owned up to her mistakes. I guess my main point is (sorry for my long ramble), you can't have it both ways. If Stassi wasn't speaking out, apologizing, making an effort to educate herself and right her wrongs, people would criticize her. But when she does do these things people are still criticizing and attacking her. At least give her a chance to right her wrongs because at the end of the day it's a positive thing when someone is actively trying to educate themselves and better themselves.

Some people just walk around life with a chip on their shoulder and think the world should revolve around their own problems. But what people don’t realize is there a much bigger world out there than racial slurs. There are people starving in Haiti, and children being trafficked here in our own country but this is what people choose to focus on. And she could cure cancer but to some people it will never be enough. They just live in bitter hatred and don’t understand that humans are flawed. All of us.

Wow ... Stassi, too soon and possibly you should have reminded silent. I can’t go in on you because I believe you’re coming from and still remain in the place of ignorance. I’ll start here for you, if ever calling the police on a black person seems like a good storyline or a joke you’re racist period. As for the diversity coach... whew, not everything you’re doing should be shared in detail. Fact of the matter is you don’t need a diversity coach to get a clue, you don’t. You need to take a look at your circle - if everyone around you looks, feels, acts, expresses themselves as you do you’re purposely self limited . Stassi do you know how it feels to be the only white person in a social setting or at a place of employment, or be generalized to be a criminal simply because you’re white? I’d venture a guess of a no. You’re going to be a mom soon, and as a mom of 3 amazing black children I can tell you only of my lived experience, you’re not a reformed Karen. You are a Karen, you don’t get to use trendy and appropriate language for BLM in the hopes that it gets you new opportunities. You did this interview because the employment opportunities are drying up and momma wants/needs a new gig. If you decide to speak again on how you negatively affected Faith’s life and countless times take pleasure in micro aggressions be honest. You’re right you are not a victim and Tamron wasn’t hard on you- you’re merely demonstrating what makes you a Karen.

But thank you for taking your platform to say a white reality star was fired for being racist. How is she growing from that? How many minutes did you allow her to speak in her growth? @Amanda Charlebois I searched her response on google, and found at least 10 stories that shes's upset and feels betrayed by Tamron for "ambushing" her.. I would attach one of them but I wouldn't have a clue how to attach or (post/re-post?) Anything 😂
Google: stassi feels ambushed.. Wish I could be more help, take care and stay safe

I don’t think going out in blackface is a good idea. Then she’d be shamed for that too. However, I totally get where you’re coming from.
I think everyone should put themselves in another’s shoes whenever possible.
It’s never hard to be kind to others. Period. I’ve always engaged in conversation with people because someone is nice. I have a family member who thinks it’s easier to ignore people she doesn’t want to understand or who she may not see as her equal. It’s disgusting really. Needless to say, we don’t speak.
I pray for society. We are a beautiful melting pot of people. We need to embrace each other and keep bettering ourselves.

Oh wow. First, thank you Tamron for showing the full interview. I have been looking it for it since Friday. Firstly, living in a big city does not equate to being open-minded or aware of diversity. There are PLENTY of racists, whether overt or covert in major metropolitan areas, so that was a rather moot point. But Stassi, for real, you were not ready for this. Tamron said it early--you should be home nurturing that life and take a whole break from your public life. The truth is you had no desire to escape your myopia, that was being fed by fame or infamy from a trashy show for trashy behavior. Tamron is a Virgo and no Virgo is going to mince words. Quit the bullshit with the poor white mouthy girl who cannot take the precise and jouranlistic questions posed when she displayed her lack of intelligence and human concern publicly and flagrantly and fell from favor because of it. If you dish it out, you have to be able to take it. My only issue with Tamron's interviewing is because she kept being so surprised that Stassi wasn't hip. Girl please, in every major city in the world is some ignorant folk...#oknext!

I don't believe it was a moot point. She's from New Orleans (60% Black). She's full of sh!t if she expects someone to believe that she's completely ignorant about the black experience. Whether she's a closet racist or not, that has nothing to do with her level of awareness. She may not know as much as a black person (for obvious reasons), but growing up in a predominately black city *in the south* vs somewhere like North Dakota .....common.

@@brittanyrhoe7618 I'm from a very diverse city, trust me if it's not part of there lived experience, not only are they not aware they have a hard time believing racism real. All of America thought Obama being elected meant racism was gone, thats the kind of ignorance thats going on.

Tamron keeps bringing up NOLA, and how in that city Stassi could remain ignorant? Either Tamron has never spent time or even been to that city, watched any news after hurricane Katrina, or was just baiting Stassi. NOLA is one of the most raciest places on this planet. Even for the south it's horrible. Tamron playing dumb ... but why?

Tamron saying how did you not know ... you grew up in a city... and then not know what a diversity coach is or where to get one is gaslighting!
I’m totally against what SS had to say but choosing to make her only interview on the only daytime talk show hosted by a black woman (besides Wendy which is not the same vibe) is a bold move and instead being argumentative it needs to be educational!
The only way to fix the problem is for open discussion from both sides not beating people over the head they understand they were wrong
