I've gone back and forth on how I feel with this expansion as the weeks have gone by since I beat it myself. Some points I thought were really good while others were so mishandled I wish things were different. But overall seeing new perspectives re-warmed me on it and made me appreciate just how exceptional this game is, and the staff for always pushing boundaries on making you feel feelings so many other medias fail to reach. Also those moments with your reactions to the lalas in Canal Town/Living Memory really swayed my heart making me love them even more Added point, everything with Krile made me so happy it's validation that's been long overdue I couldn't be happier for it
I couldn't agree more! The story had ups and downs but overall it was amazing. The last few hours were an emotional rollercoaster for me, but what do you expect from a theme park XD Glad you have a great experience
It was very nice follow your joyrney through the expansion, specially since resonated with some of my own thoughts during my playthough. Though I was not able to make connections with FF IX, since I never played, now became a game that I wanna play. Keep the good work and I'll be looking foward to your videos in the future.
The people wearing regulators don't have their soul replaced every time they die. Think of soul cells like oranges and life force like orange juice. When they die, the regulator squeezes the life force out of a soul cell to revive them. Well now, they have a squished soul inside them, when you look at the voidsent, all those souls inside you impact who you are as a person. So the regulator then stamps your memories and personality on top of the mutilated mess going on inside you. And when you actually die, then your soul ends up in the regulator to be cleaned and packaged as a soul cell and the souls you've "spent" over your lifetime are now able to return to the aetherial sea. So their system delays people's return to the aetherial sea, it doesn't stop it entirely.
8:55:00 is where the expansion became unredeemable for me. I had gone back and forth between liking and disliking aspects of the Dawntrail story, but this was the nail in the coffin. I hope this failure of a character gets relegated harder than Lyse.
