Hi,i'm from Italy and i am a supporter of AS Roma.Yesterday I saw the match and it was very interesting.I'm very happy and glad because we're expanding our name in the whole world. The experience against Mls All Star was an important experience and for me was very nice see champions like Henry and Donovan.I hope that Mls will improve its appeal becoming one of most famous and important championships.Greeting from Rome!
I'm an AS Roma Fan and started watching MLS since 2013 and I could say year after year the league is improving. If US will just take this league seriously sooner or later they will win the world cup. No doubt.
Matthew Pessanha, now 6 years old, was proud to be with, and receive autographs from Maicon, Totti and Leandro Castán yesterday here in Wellesley, MA, where Roma practiced! Thanks A. S. Roma!
The Juventus vs Everton game was fun too watch, this game not too much. You can clearly see the different skill levels in both games. MLS wants to be one if the top leagues in the world by 2022....,That's a tough task but not impossible.
one good team to watch out of the whole planet thats my opinion of football...230 countrys in the world and and a handful of teams whos actually worth putting yourself through an hour and a half of mind numbing boredom
good to see soccer growing in the States and they put on a good show against AS Roma, Totti is still good at his age and Roma was clearly the better team so can't fault the MLS All Stars they gave it their best and hope Zusi is ok he was subbed after only 23 mins due to possible injury with a muscle strain...poor defending by Collin & Besler in this game but they are usually reliable for SKC, good friendly overall.
I agree with you on the soccer part, but the MLS is actually an amazing league. If you understood all of the dynamic features of it, it doesn't have the world class stars like the BPL, or local teams like League 2, but it is a good league to watch.
I went into this game hoping that I would like Roma's play style but I came out a DeAndre Yedlin fan. If he keeps playing like this he should have an amazing career
Guys wait, I'm from Italy and I'm a Roma fan. It's true that Roma may have more chemistry than the MLSallstar but we're under a new coach. With a new and different playing style and testing new and younger players. Keep in mind that Osvaldo, Lamela who both scored 15 goals last season didn't even play. I'm not saying that the allstars are bad but, if you look at the first two goals. You can tell that the centerbacks are hugely at fault. Even so, it was a good game.
that's partially true, but I'll argue that the MLS All Stars have only been training for one week and Roma has been a true team for years. That's the reason why they had chemistry in tonights game!
Couldn't agree with you more. Ive watched our league grow from a baby in to what it is today & im proud of it. I would have to dis agree with you about Donavon,Zusi etc being world class, there far from it! Ive been lucky enough yo live in Europe notably Italy & England & they would be just a standard player over there. When Bradley is playing for Roma the fans shout "atterrare" which means touchdown refering to NFL Which i think gives us some indication as to how much they rate our players
good point. But another point also is that this is an all-star team that never played together except probably in the last several days prior to the game. Roma and other teams that the all-stars play against during these games always have the advantage as a unit been playing together longer than the all stars have as unit. the mls all-stars are probably star struck themselves as well. :D I mean these are some of the guys they watch on tv. lol. :D
It's good to see that there many football fand now in the US. We'll probably have another friendly next year as long as James remains as our president. Peace!
Yea very true, I know there are many quality strikers in the MLS but they were 5 Strikers iirc. Jack Mack and Wondo shouldnt have been included. Only Henry, MDV & Magee. I felt bad for MDV only playing 45 mins against his rival team (Back home). Bernier & Donovan coming in made a huge difference.
Lets look at the positives,MLS did get a goal. They also had some very good attacking sequences that could have easily made the game a lot closer(albeit most of the shots were straight to Romas keeper or a bit off frame.)The first two goals werebasic defensive errors that I have seen the players on the field deal with easily butnot so much this time(badluck from Colin on that deflection though really thought he would have saved it)I think even though we lost 3-1 we still played an impressive game
All Stars needs to refresh with younger soccer-players. We all know the soccer-level isn't as high in America as it is to Europe and don't be ashamed. The sport is really growing the last few years in America and knowing America the level will soon be the same. Roma is also within the top 15 teams of Europe, it is a good team.
I agree that the All-Star team should have more time together. It wouldn't kill the league to give them a week preparation considering we don't follow the "Official FIFA Calender" plus I think it would make the performance and the match overall much more fluid (at least from our side) and much more entertaining.
Grande ROMA!!!!!!!!!!! finalmente ho visto una roma giocare di testa,TOTTI IMMENSO,STROOTMAN gia padrone del centrocampo,Florenzi davvero bravo forse sarà la nostra sorpresa,De Santis? FINALMENTE UN PORTIERE....
I agree that the outcome may very well have been the same, but you can't deny the fact that had the MLS team played together more they would have performed better. They probably still would have lost, but it would have been a closer/better game.
@hilversum0212 romas been training for weeks and roma has like 4 or 5 new players on a 23 man squad mls has one training session and a lot are tired from gold cup.

Translation from Italian translator with: If any Serie A team were confronted by a selection of the best players of the Series B, what would be the result? More or less one between Rome and MLS All Stars. Given that Rome is the difference in pre-season it seems even bigger. Many Americans do not yet understand the fact that of all the players in MLS only (maybe) a dozen would be on the roster of a team of Seria A. Holders even less.
To be honest as a European- you can't compare a club with All Star team. The players on MLS team don't train and don't play together seasons long like Roma does... So you also can't expect a lot of chemistry from such a team.
The All star team had a week to practice together, and these aren't technically the MLS best players, since the fans voted for them. It was the most popular players.
The problem with the all star game is that a mixed bag of (though talented) players that don't really know each other, are thrown together. And after a few practices, this "team" is pitted against an actual club with a lot more chemistry and practice. Unless this is like a Bundesliga all stars team vs a Panamanian club, the club team is most likely gonna win
I think it was a mixture of two things that caused the loss: The lack of chemistry, and the lack of midfield game that Peter Vermes for some reason decided to play. Either way, I'd still bet my two cents Sporting KC will put up a fight with any top european club.
MLS all stars was a group of guys who played together for 3-5 days. That's not a team. Roma is a well oiled top flight machine. Would have been a different game had they played Montreal, Seattle, LA or even Philly.
...Aaaand here come all the MLS haters. Just remember we beat Chelsea last year 3-2 and have had some other great wins. This year's squad simply did not have the chemistry and power that last year's had. It's not an indicator of MLS but just a lack of chemistry between the team on this occassion. MLS is a growing league and is so underrated. We are vastly improving year by year. And one more thing...Haters will always hate. If you don't like MLS it's simple...DON'T WATCH IT!
I'd have to disagree, i think that the MLS's more unique take on the All-Star experience is a lot more entertaining. Although it would be kinda cool to see an end of season All Star game (this one could be east vs west, kind of like the NFL pro bowl {yes like american football} where its the all-stars chosen from their performances throughout the entire season)
It is NOWHERE NEAR the Championship or League 2 level. Are you on crack?! It can't be compared. And just because Wigan beat Man City, does not make them a better team.
I'm a huge ROMA fan but i think bashing on MLS is just plain ignorant. Soccer is young in the states but developing rapidly. Its a childish mind set to compare with Europe because its #1 game in Euro while here its still gaining popularity. Forza Roma
well said, and I have to say MLS is growing rapidly and is an interesting league to follow with some good teams and world class players like Donovan, Zusi, Magee, Morales and so on. all this MLS bashing is just childish and stupid but haters gonna hate as you said.
Your bang on mate. Ive watched a few of these all star games now & its obvious especially from the European teams that they don't even get out of 3rd gear & i assume its the same with the American players. Its played like a training session, To be honest most of these pre season games are played in this spirit as no cunt wants to get injured before the start of the season. They don't even show these games in Europe on tv you have to watch them on you tube!
Its normal that Roma won, these mls all star never played with eachother and had no chemistry with only having one practice. I think for upcoming years, there should be a one-week break for every team so players will have more time to practice together because honestly it was very unfortunate that all Roma goals could’ve been avoided easily. Not saying they were bad but they got paranoid at the 2nd half.
At the end Totti was like: "Erm, this huge ass trophy for a friendly? Really?" ;-P
Totti is amazing
How can you expect a team with no chemistry to win, most of these players have never played with eachother
JK UK Your comment is way too funny.
Daniel Wagner actually the MLS all star team usually is very similar to the national team. (which is also really bad)
bogus we have our ups and downs
So a national team play like u19?
Daniel Wagner Im late but mls need east vs west
I love how totti's with the cup is like what dafuq should i do with this??? :D

di Vaio - one of the most under-rated Italian strikers of his generation
Lol Totti's like screw this trophy I want the schudetto trophy
im soooooooooooo excited im gonna watch roma vs tfc today

Love how the mls gk never ran out to try and get the ball
one good team to watch out of the whole planet thats my opinion of football...230 countrys in the world and and a handful of teams whos actually worth putting yourself through an hour and a half of mind numbing boredom
a couple more years the MLS all stars is going to be lead by Ronaldo and Ibrahimavic
please learn how to fucking spell before you say that your shot league is going to be filled with actual all stars and not retired legends
Says learn how to spell yet can't even spell shit right
+Kangarolphin ever hear of auto correct you complete and utter failure to in life?
Wow, way to represent sophisticated Europe
well you got ibrahimovic now
you sir are one of the smartest people on youtube ive ever seen
Totti... A man who can with a single pass make you feel privileged just to exist in the same universe.

also guys, remember that MLS is very young, as a league, its going to get better, but you cant go from zero to hero in an instant
that's partially true, but I'll argue that the MLS All Stars have only been training for one week and Roma has been a true team for years. That's the reason why they had chemistry in tonights game!
@hilversum0212 also have to remember this is mls first time against italian team. English and Italian style of play is different.
MLS is incredible. Love watching these games despite the loss. Such an underrated league.

it looked like totti was embarrassed to lift the mls all star cup
Good Game, MLS All-stars had a rough start but finished much stronger.
good point. But another point also is that this is an all-star team that never played together except probably in the last several days prior to the game. i liked the ref cam
ma quali gol..questo è stata la cosa più bella della partita...è n'artista assoluto.

MLS is officially ranked 7th best in the world!
I agree that the outcome may very well have been the same, but you can't deny the fact that had the MLS team played together more they would have performed better. They probably still would have lost, but it would have been a closer/better game.
Roma are a great side. No disgrace in losing 3-1 to them
@hilversum0212 romas been training for weeks and roma has like 4 or 5 new players on a 23 man squad mls has one training session and a lot are tired from gold cup.
Roma's got a new coach, played under new system, testing bunch of new players. Probably just a little bit more chemistry than the MLS all stars
while that's true, they were also playing new players such as strootman and benatia, but not a completely new team. even so, great game

Thank you for calling it football.
We beat Chelsea last year. It's a test of our players. We win some we lose some.
I the US teams have be beating like 10-0 all the time until the US actually gets the point! soccer is the ultimate sport

oh my friend.. Roma IS still a great team! there is not doubt ;)
mls allstars can beat tottenham, Bayern , and Chelsea but not roma
Ikr and here they had henry
its a friendly game... teams are either making turnovers or just trying new stuff... and Roma is a great team!
Or Arsenal
Where is Nesta?
I think it was a mixture of two things that caused the loss: The lack of chemistry, and the lack of midfield game that Peter Vermes for some reason decided to play. Either way, I'd still bet my two cents Sporting KC will put up a fight with any top european club.

Amazing
Love Roma :)
That moment when a gopro films better than the field camera.
360p? cmon!
hai scritto la cosa più bella,più vera e più giusta:) Daje Roma Daje!!!
I don't necessarily think it comes down to chemistry. Corey Ashe fell asleep a couple of times, it just came down to mistakes at the end of the day.
Roma is at the moment the best team in europe 10 matches 10 wins 30 pt 24:1
strootman is such a beast
Why was Cory Ashe even in the all star team wow

Yeah we should do east vs west I think It would be better
What a pass
hahah at the end when they get the cup...the look on his face is like, oohh great yyaaayy...what a great honor *sarcasm*
the mls aint that bad. it can be compared to the 2nd or 3rd divisons in england. which isnt bad because wigan just beat man city....
It is NOWHERE NEAR the Championship or League 2 level. Are you on crack?! It can't be compared. And just because Wigan beat Man City, does not make them a better team.
Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy calmmmmmmmmmmmm downnnnnnnnnnnn
Yes you can compare the two leagues
Look man, just stick to committing war crimes, it's what you're good at.
theprince08853 i mean im not in this argument, but im pretty sure the argument was about soccer, not war crimes, da fuq?
haha thats what i thought

I agree!
I'm a huge Roma fan but i think bashing on MLS
donovan shouldn't have shaved. awesome streak over.
the award ceremony was a joke just like the game....
its not about beating you, its about playing better with our team only.
This is a great format. We don't need to change it because we lost. All the other all-star games in North America are a joke.
totti: "denghiu" :D
so what if Camilo hasn't played for the national team? and what about Kekuta Manneh? the 18year old whitecaps striker who scored a hat trick?
thats an award ceremony
You didn't expect the all stars would actually win right? Just enjoy the football Roma shows :)
Damn omar beasted that header
hahaha that hype at the end
well said, and I have to say MLS is growing rapidly and is an interesting league to follow with some good teams and world class players like Donovan, Zusi, Magee, Morales and so on. all this MLS bashing is just childish and stupid but haters gonna hate as you said.

TOTTI not "totey" is football Legend.
Cory Ashe, wow. Who even is he?
Roma and the italian leauge are good, they dont suck (whoever said tht)
I predicted the score would be 3-1 :) skills!
Be che dire una partita perfetta, peccato x il gol preso ma sembra che la squadra c'è,ho visto dei bei passaggi di prima.Ok As ROMA.Unica.
Good game.
Quiero que los MLS All Stars para hacer frente a mi equipo, el Real Madrid.

But Roma have new players as well and they haven't started the season yet. But you have a point an all star team deoesn't work with football.
