The BIGGEST tip: Never blame the other parent or say “Mom thinks” or “Dad says” - WE WE WE. If you disagree talk about it in private!

Yeah! So true! I used to watch my friends play their parents off each other. My parents were always united. If one said "no," we knew it counted from the other, too.

@@EngagedwithJoJoJordan thats not good advice guys! kids need to know they have 2 chances to get what they feel they might deserve. if one parent says no, maybe the second parent can agree with the kid but with conditions set by the first parent or something like that. if parents have 1 shared view on things the kid might feel isolated in the home or might even think 1 parent is more submissive to the other bc lets face it, 1 parent will be the more assertive decision maker.

Erin Nickle what do you do if your child is small and never wins. Loses confidence bc never gets a hit, no one choose him for a team etc? Just let the child sink into a depression thinking they will never be good enough?

    • @aphro123star
      @aphro123star 3 года назад +2

@@gaelcrane8008 positive reinforcement is different than a participation trophy. Parents needs to be encouraging and push their kids to do their best but rewarding mediocre outcome with a participation trophy does nothing for a kid other than stunting their growth and expectations. They will grow up thinking they never need to be the best or try hard in life to get ahead.

Elementary teacher here! Positive reinforcement is the way to go with kids for the most part! But each child is different and some kids need different things, so you’ll have to test out a few parenting styles before seeing what works best for your child. You have to go in with parenting with an open mind ☺️

Just wanted to tell you both that I love you two! Definitely my favorite couple! I actually almost went on the bachelor too a few years back but I had just met a guy at the time (which is now my husband lol)and decided I couldn't let him go. Now 5 years later we have a beautiful baby boy and he's the best thing that ever happened to me and i love staying home with him everyday more than anything I've ever imagined. I did have a full time career nursing and then travel nursing all over and i was very career driven. I still work occasionally( 3 shifts a month) but i truly love staying home with my boy. So my advice to you is get everything out of the way before you have kids. Have no regrets whatsoever so u can fully give yourself to your babies! I'm so excited for y'all to have kids one day. I hope y'all are still posting videos by then. I'd love to see it!! You guys will be amazing parents!

I totally agree with Jordan on the baseball situation. And here’s why..... you want to tech your kids to work hard. To be okay to “fail” and not be good at something. They have limits and boundaries. They also have to develop tough skin. To try hard and get better at something. And that is so exciting!

I am an early childhood educator and I promise you them learning three strikes and you’re out and that sometimes you lose is the BEST thing for them! They learn to work hard and that also makes the joy of winning or doing well so much sweeter! Let them lose. Teach them the actual way to play the game. The students I have that do, are more mature because of it. And trust me, they aren’t damaged by it!

  • @amyvaccaro512

My best advice in parenting, is treat your children the way you want to be treated. If you made a mistake how would you want some one to react. Show grace. Teach consequences without making the child feel like they can’t trust you. Also I agree with Jordan it’s important for them to fail, it is the only way they’ll learn how to improve and become better. Also it’s more important to instruct them in the right way to go then to only instruct them in all the things they shouldn’t do. Example “ when we get to the store you guys will be my big helpers by staying close by and helping me load and unload the food.” Not “ don’t you dare run away in the store and scream and shout and beg for candy, you will be in big trouble if you do!” Set them up for success. It’s easy to focus on everything we don’t want them to do and we can forget to instruct them in the right way. To set them up for success we need to show them the way to it.

A few things I learned as a parent.... We aren’t perfect and will make mistakes. This was one of the best lessons I was able to teach my son. Own it and learn from it!.... Take help when it’s offered. I was fortunate to have my parents close by and they were always offering to spend time with my son. Obviously it was a great help to me but it also allowed them to develop an amazing relationship with my son!......Lastly, start disciplining early. It is so easy to give in to the little people as they are adorable (or throwing a tantrum lol) but when you put the work in early it makes the later years SOOOO much easier!
I think you guys are going to be wonderful parents! I really enjoy your videos. Your down to earth personalities, humour and obvious love and respect for each other make me smile! Thank you!
    P.S. Your dog is adorable!

I don’t know if you read these but I am a big fan of you two! I have two kids myself! Andi (girl) and Strider(boy). My daughter was a biter and that was SO hard. But they are the best! They are very strong willed, athletic and passionate (as I’m sure yours will be) but I’ve learned to embrace imperfection and messes. But you will never ever go wrong by just loving, hugging, kissing, snuggling and playing with your babies and kids. One day they will grow up so just treasure them being small, tantrums and all. Make all parenting decisions based on love. You will be blown away at the love you will feel for these little humans that you created.

I love that you guys are so excited to be parents! It’s been the most rewarding thing in my life! You asked about career driven women transitioning to full time Moms and I’m so glad you asked about that. It was hard for me at first, because I am super ambitious. But my husband has been the best at reminding me how much our kids benefit from me staying home! And I really do feel like no day care can love them like I, as their mother, can. And I have found that motherhood is just as, if not more, challenging than a career. I can also see how much staying at home makes them feel more secure and loved too so hopefully you’re up for the challenge! It’s the best adventure!

“Be kind to yourselves, because you are doing a great job!”
Also there is a lot of judgement and advice that gets thrown at you once you’re pregnant even and continues once the child is born. I found that a bit confronting and unexpected! Just do what works best for you and try to focus on that! I’m 28 as well

Jojo - to answer your question on becoming a mom and work, etc...I struggled with my identity as a new mom. I chose to quit my job because I worked 55 hours a week and so did my husband. And I knew that I wanted to be my kids primary care giver. However, I did not realize how hard it would be to "just be a mom". My identity before kids was in my job. And honestly, in todays culture, I felt bad for wanting to "just be a mom"...like I was doing a disservice to women as a whole. But I am finally changing my thinking and trying to embrace this time of my life and enjoy it completely and making my new identity as a mom, and I couldn't be happier! I still do some side work to help contribute and have "me time"...you will discover what works best for you! All the best

When it’s your own baby it’s a different ball game, you are more comfortable and can handle the crying situation better, you will know as soon as you have your own, it’s different. Also my husband is the best hands on Dad doing everything I also do and it’s the best partnership to be, so the other one doesn’t get worn down. It’s about teamwork!
But just have kids! Don’t overthink it or wait. It hasn’t stopped me or my husband from still doing the things we have wanted. Sure there are times when things are harder with kids and there are periods of real adjustment but I would say don’t wait or hold off. When I had my first I thought ‘why did it take me so long or why didn’t I do this sooner.’ It’s the best having that new parent love. The first year is THE BEST! And then they grow up some more and get the attitude and that’s when you start pulling your hair out haha. But it’s amazing to see them grow and become their own little person. You guys will be amazing parents 😍🥰

My mother in law birthed 16 children and her husband was a Dr. they were the best in laws and the best advice they gave us was “You are the FIRST parent they have ever had, they don’t know you put diaper on wrong or their food should be hot. Just relax and enjoy. If parents are stressed, kids will be too.” They feed off your emotions, if you laugh and are relaxed, firm and hard workers. Your kids will be too, they do what you do NOT what you say!!!

Discipline as a unit. Don’t let them play you against each other. No participation trophies, that breeds entitlement. They should earn their trophies and learn that it’s okay to lose. It just means that they have to work harder. Their victories will mean more to them that way. The common saying I’ve heard about your life is over after kids is a terrible way of looking at it. Your life becomes their life. Their experiences become your experiences. Their hopes and dreams become yours. It makes you better at life because you in a matter of seconds become more selfless and more motivated to be great for them. You guys will do great! The way you balance each other out will translate to how you raise your kids. You will each bring something special to the table. As long as you continue to respect and love each other openly, your kids will blossom because they will grow up witnessing that mutual love and respect and that’s how they learn to love their siblings and one day their own significant others.

I can guarantee you guys it will change what jordan thinks about babies. When the baby arrives its an automatic parenting that comes and he wont even ask for u when ur child cries
Speaking as a brand new parent here ☝🏽☝🏽☝🏽🙏🏼

In regards to your question about career vs. waiting to have a family - just make sure you are talking to your doctor about your family planning (even the idea of waiting). I’m all for girl boss, power to the women but our drive for a career has no effect on biology and the truth is, pregnancy over the age of 35 is considered a GERIATRIC pregnancy. If a family of your own is the goal, just make sure to educate yourself about natural fertility and biological consequences of waiting.

We married while I was a senior at the University. We have 3 boys now ( unplanned lol) and I had my first at 25. I graduated with Bachelor's while pregnant and started the Master's program pregnant and then with baby at home. I was determined to push forward with my desired career in Education and be a great mom. I was only one semester (and student teaching hours) away from a Master's degree but I just couldn't do it anymore. My husband was working longer hours than ever and I no longer had available consistent childcare. I wanted to be able to devote myself to my sweet baby, he deserved all the nurturing he could get. To me, daycare was never an option as a path of parenthood. Due to financial constraints, I have not completed my Master's to this day. Our kids are so sweet ( 9, 3, 2 ), but you will lose most of your lifestyle as it was once they come. So be prepared to "die to yourself" so to speak. However gloomy that sounds, it is only a season of life that will pass. And they are worth it! (And you will get some type of bodily fluids on you at some point! Lol) Just keeping it real. Sorry so long. So good luck guys!

You guys will be the best parents out there, no doubt❤️ Allways so sweet and caring to everyone, so i can totally see you guys as parents!😄
I am only 27, and i actually had to remove my uterus just a few months back. I had no kids either, so this was a hard message to get.. Several doctors said i had no chance to ever getting pregnant because it was so broken at that point, and the inflammation had spread to other organs as well. So i really didn’t have a choice...
So this is one of the toughest things I have gone through, but i’m allways trying to be positive and not least be grateful for all the good I have in my life, and for me it is much more important to appreciate what you have right now, than worry about what you don’t have.☺️ I will never get the chance to have my own kids, but I am forever grateful for my wonderful boyfriend, family and friends that i do have in my life. So i am very lucky, after all❤️
And now we have decided to get a GOLDEN RETRIEVER!! 😍😍 So in a couple of months, we will be parents to a beautiful little puppy, a puppy that will be SO loved!👫🐶
So we will be a little family of 3, and i am allready looking forward to see my beautiful golden child for the first time!😍🥰 So now i’m going to be a mommy after all, and i’m just so happy!
So i cross my fingers that our new baby behaves well and don’t become a gangstah-dog with a bad attitude... 😆
So it will be okey after all❤️
Allways looking forward to a new video from you guys☺️
    Much love from Norway🌼

I am 100% with Jordan about the sports. I hate when kids get participation medals and excessive praise for not doing well. Sports are about discipline, hard work and fun. But in order to develop resiliency and work ethic in anything, people need to fail. It’s part of life but it builds a strong character.

Love you guys! Jojo I agree with Jordan on the baseball thing. What you are saying is this generation nothing is earned anymore. It’s given to them. I have a 17 year entitled teenager and I’m struggling! Show your kids that you have to work hard to succeed. You the two of you as an example! You both are hard workers and worked hard to get there! Jojo the reason my daughter is entitled is bc I catered to her:( I failed lol. Love you both!
