How to Change Idle Air Control Valve on Dodge Ram 2500

My dodge would not stay running when idle. It would die constantly when in parking lots or warming it up on a cold morning. Changing the idle air control valve seemed to fix the problem.

Very informative! Actually you can change those IAC without removing those air cleaners. Its really easy from the drivers side and of youre 6 feet tall as I am or if youre shorter stand on a chair from the left drivers side fender and buy you a cheap set of torx sockets so you can use a ratchet

Its supposed to be 1 1/8" from the base where the 0-ring sits at. But good video. Ive got a 95 ram 2500 regular cab that i just changed the iacv a couple days ago.

I took my old IAC Valve out, cleaned it and put it back in, it stopped dying when I let off the gas, but it idles low now. Probably get a new IAC Valve now.

How do you.... Adjust the new valve?.... Does it turn in, and out?

You don't do anything. It's controlled by the vacuum if the throttle body! Just drop in and turn on!
