Sifu Sergio is an outstanding and patient Sifu from what I can visually see from the videos that I've watch on him.
I too am a Sifu that has been involved in the art for 20yrs. And I have touched hands with many people from many different styles. And have never felt threatened. I've never felt like I needed to abandon my style because some other style was far superior. As a matter of fact, studying WC has actually allowed me to decipher what they were trying to execute, very easily.
I hate it when fellow WC practitioners debate who's version is better. Because frankly WC is actually a set of principles that has to be executed properly, or you're not truly doing WC.
And regardless of what language you speak, the goal is to communicate our theories the best way that we can to your students/audience.
And if some people get it, congratulations!! Those people are students of yours. However, some will not, but maybe the light can be turned on by a different Sifu. So they become students of that Sifu. The end result is everyone that is truly seeking will find. Anyone truly knocking on the door, the door will be opened to you.
That's the bottom line. And we should always remember; we're all brother's and sister's in the many different families of our bueatiful Artform. So let's love each other and help each other like family.
And at the end of the day, we all benefit from the 100's of years of generations of trying to figure this out. So we can be the best that we can be as Ambassadors of WC regardless of lineage.
Our Great Grandparents in our art, would appreciate the respect for all they went through to pass this valuable knowledge on to the next generation with dignity and respect for others.
And one more thing we must always remember...THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF WC IS KILLING YOUR OPONENT, NOT JUST BEATING THEM UP. And who truly wants that on their conscience. I know I don't. But that is our true reality. And this is why proving it to sportsman that are involved in Combat Sporting events is very often done in vain. Because they train to win competitions where there's rules and judges and referees. This is not our arena.
So keep your egos in check and always remember this. And always train hard to be the best that YOU can be.
BTW...I'm from the Ip Man lineage, but that is just my background. I play my instrument with my own personal flare because this is an Artform. Just like learning to play a guitar. You learn proper technique and then you develope your own style. Hopefully this makes sense to some.
I will eventually start my own RUclips channel in the near future, and I look forward to sharing my thoughts with all of you that are interested in seeing it from my point of view. I have a very simplistic way of looking at this art that some may find very refreshing. Hopefully many will find it uplifting and inspiring. Peace to you all... Sifu Red

Hello Sifu Sergio, My teacher Jason Elder said he had communicated with you online in the past to discuss the snake crane engine. Our internal kungfu group has really appreciated your videos and the way you articulate the ideas, so thank you for your continued work on youtube. I have an internal dragon and wing chun base so the snake crane engine has been super interesting to try🙏. Besides my teacher ive been taking pointers from Sifu Rasmus and Sifu Adam who are also very skilled. Its really great that internal kungfu has been growing in popularity recently through social media. I hope this trend continues into the future.

Very impressive understanding of internal energy. I can see the countless hours you've put into your art. You've really opened my eyes on how to transfer force through the body with the tendons, ligiments, and bones; instead of relying on my external energy (IE. muscle generated force). Thank you Sifu Sergio.

You explain your position very clearly and make excellent arguments that i can understand very well. I tend to be of understanding that WCK can handle any fighting distance, but prefers close body, as it is where it can finish it easily. Get in and take them out as i like to see it.

Hendrik Santo is on the wrong track. He is actually trying to destroy ancient chinese martial art and philosophy, he wants to press everything into modern sports and physics which doesn´t work out.

Excellent video sifu Sergio. Unfortunately, explaining the internals to people who only know the external approach can sometimes (of course, not always) be like explaining astro-physics to chimpanzees.

well, put some videos up and teach people how to do this stuff.. seems to be a bit of a money making racket :-) i folllow CST's teachings, i guess it will come in its own time... i think you cant just decide to have a seminar to show off your skills.. seems a bit daft, i fully believe that it takes alot more than one seminar to develop nim lik and i think that nim lik is something other than force flow.. i think this forceflow is more about Fa-Gin.. that isnt to say your force-flow techniques are not powerfull.

      Hi Cyanide,
We are all entitled to our own opinions about whoever or whatever and I would have to say that the "money racket" comment was out of place. Just because Sifu Sergio has IWKA schools around the world to promote and teach a complete, comprehensive and very well rounded system doesn't mean it's all about the money. People have to make a living in a capitalistic, profit-driven world, remember that. To get money in exchange for your product isn't a sin nor is it wrong. Furthermore, He's doing what he absolutely loves to do and it just so happens that he's getting paid- so what?
As for Nim Lik, Jing expressions, and the like- Chu Shong Tin had his own way of expressing power and force. Sifu Sergio certainly has his own way of expressing power and force and... he can teach people how to do it in a relatively short period of time. Sifu Sergio didn't just dream this stuff up. He used his time and money to travel all around Asia to learn these things.
Back to Sigung Chu Shong Tin-
Chu Shong Tin talked about Tai Gong, Sing, and Nim Lik. He tried over and over as the years progressed to figure out why he was able to express in a more dynamic and powerful way than his students. Near the end of his life he made some very interesting discoveries about his practice and the practice of others doing Siu Nim Tau. Listen to what the Grandmaster said over and over again and check out some of what his students from years ago have to say about how he trained in order to develop his mind force.
I believe that if you have the right teacher that can convey to you in the clearest manner that which is needed to express in the manner you want to express, it shouldn't take 20 years to reach a certain level of expression.
Keep up the great work Sifu Sergio :)

i didnt mean to insult you, i just mean that you should share your knowlage and if people want to train with you thats great too,.. you can spend all the money in the world and still not get 'the skill'... i like open knowlage though if u wanna pay a tutor thats great too. i dont like things being on a hinge pin of money,.. should be open for anyone that has the time, thats the real cost of it... though i can accept you need money :-) I understand Sigung Chu's methods, you have to practice in the samadhi/sung state of mind. this is what makes the difference, and u gota relax and have spinal alignment to do this, so few can achieve samadhi,.. i can do it because im a devout buddhist and i meditate alot. so his stuff i can feel, and is developing and growing.. im only at the beginning of the adventure, but who knows how it will go :-) i guess the external stuff is also valid, and there is overlap, though i follow the path of emptyness. Emptyness alows you to be filled.. true compassion and love guide intension.

      Hi Vitriolearth,
I totally agree with everything you're saying. Until that last paragraph... what you wrote was a subtle indirect towards Chu Shong Tin, but it comes from a lack of understanding. Keep in mind that when Chu says that he tried over and over again to get others to get to a high level of dynamic power, such as his, his subjective idea of what dynamic force was, was set EXTREMELY high. Sure, he can teach people how to generate the type of force Sergio talks about here in a relatively short amount of time, but the level Chu was referring to, I'm sure we can all agree, was far beyond that. You're talking about a guy who used to swim 3 hours a day in the ocean and practice holding 50kg bags on each arm effortlessly (according to Nima King).. of course it would take years to get to that level. There's no way around it, unlocking your body from the inside takes time. Mastery by your standards may only take 5 years, but mastery to someone else that has much higher standards than you will say it takes 50 years. It's all subjective.

    • @spawn314159
      @spawn314159 7 лет назад

hmm.. perhaps you're just realising your own delusion,.. Sigung Chu Shong Tin was all about developing expansion and chi force, there are people that have chi-sau'd with him for 10 years and only been able to touch him once.. he even stopped attacking in chi-sau because nobody could stop his movements, there is just a very big difference between momentum force and structure with chi force. two different engines. he could do momentum engine force too.. he just didnt demonstrate it in the last 10 years of his teachings as his teaching style changed.

      Hi dhern049,
Wing Chun has been a part of my life since the late 1970's and I just rekindled my fire for the art after a 10 year break. I must admit that I had never researched anything outside my lineage so had "blinders" on for most of my training over the years.
Once I decided to step outside my neat, cozy box I found a world full of very interesting and motivational information. I found Sifu Sergio's channel and watched his videos, visited his website and decided that he's really onto something here. I've met many practitioners of Wing Chun over the years and Sifu Sergio is World Class, in my opinion.
His explanations have helped me in many ways and so has looking into how Chu Shong Tin taught and focussed on Siu Nim Tau. Then I found a channel on RUclips called "Daiwai Kwoon" and listened to what David had to share in his videos. I have to say that how he explained Nim Lik, Tai Gong, Sing and so on resonated with me so much so that I was able to immediately apply this to my Siu Nim Tau work with stunning results. This isn't a pitch but just a sharing out of excitement.
I believe that if the Sifu knows what he's doing and how to convey the information to the student and if the student is receptive and can assimilate the information, then he/she will progress very quickly. Though we're not in a rush here, the results come as fast as the decision one makes to let go and allow it to happen.
Thank you for sharing your opinions dhern049, I really appreciate the opportunity to chat with you.
