  • In this episode, Reese gives you a huge reading list that you'll likely never get around to.
UPDATE! I'm a big dummy. I said On Directing by David Mamet is better than Making Movies by Sidney Lumet. That's straight up horse dookie. Making Movies is awesome. I wish I could go back and fix this lol
Reading is the second best way to learn more about the craft of filmmaking (the first best is to make films, obviously). There are so many fantastic books out there to learn how to tell better stories, write better characters, create more beautiful images... you just gotta know where to look. I hope this is a good start for you and if you have any recommendations of filmmaking books that I haven't read, please leave them in the comments!

When having insomnia my favorite thing to do is watch a Reese vlog Jaws is one of my faves and I love all the behind the scenes or how it was made stuff. Also you rock the Tom Selleck stash!

That is one of the best vlog intros ever. You made me smile instead of throwing a beautiful timelapse in my face. Well done! :)

I was a tour guide on Martha's Vineyard (Amity Island) for nine years and I love Jaws still, even though I've seen it more than even the most committed of fanatics, lol!! I'n other news, I've made nothing of consequence to demonstrate any particular skill, but I dig your enthusiasm and would love to help make something sometime:) I am this channel's name on most of the platforms. Gimme a shout on ig if you have it, twitter if you don't:)
