- In this episode, Reese discusses the importance of finishing your artworks. Even if they're not as good as you want them to be.
This is something that I've struggled with for a long time now. I work on so many things, that I find myself getting distracted from the projects that are the most important to me and I never end up finishing them. Or worse, I abandon them before even giving them a real chance at being great. I truly believe that the only way to become a better filmmaker or artist is to make as many things as possible and to get them in front of other people to collect feedback and learn. Push through the pain. It's worth it at the end.

The fact that you have trouble finishing things but you have all these ideas of different stories would make me think that shorts would be a perfect option for you. The great thing about short pieces is they’re easier to “finish” and even if youre bored of it, it wouldn’t take too long to finish and just get it OUT of your head!
Also, this reminds me of working on The Way That I Am with Kaleigh. We spent a total of 4-5 years on it, with 2 of those years in editing. As you could imagine, it drove us insane “perfecting” that story and I told myself that after that, I wouldn’t put myself through that again if I didn’t have to. Not because it wasn’t fun, but because the story just needed to be TOLD, lol. It was growing outdated in our brains and couldn’t be pushed any further than it was originally intended to be.

Wow, thanks for this. Puts a lot of things into perspective. I think I just need to have more patience with my process. When am I gonna be able to finally see that movie?!
@@DashingAgent lololol WELLLL there’s some talk of distribution finally so we will see!! Hopefully within the year it will officially be DONE DONE!!!
