Hi Don! You had me there for a minute! Yeah, I'm going through a dental problem at the moment so I know how expensive it can be. I never had any reason to have my wisdom teeth extracted because they were fully grown when I was 15. Fast forward 55 years later and I have an appointment to either fill a cavity or get a root canal and cap (ouch, especially financially)! I am lucky to have all of my teeth (32) and I will be 70 in a few months. With Mexico over 2,000 miles away, Consider yourself lucky you live so close to the Border and have the opportunity to "jump the Border". Cheers from Connecticut!

Years ago we took a family vacation to Niagara Falls (camping). On the day I decided to drive over to Canada, I did some chores first....namely laundry. Since we were camping, I had filled a ziploc bag with my powder detergent....makes sense to do that rather than haul a box around. Not thinking, I proceeded to the border. The border guard starts walking around our truck and then says "Ma'am can you roll down your back window?" Sure....no problem. Then I hear the plastic crinkle as he reached into my back seat. Holding up a bag of white powder he says "Can you explain this?" D'Oh!!! "Yup...laundry....it's springtime fresh". Fortunately it was determined fairly quickly that I was NOT hauling something illegal and I was allowed to pass without my vehicle being completely dismantled at the border 🤣 Valuable lesson learned that day.

I desperately want to go to Mexico for many things medical but I don’t want to go alone! I’m a 65 yr old woman and fear being robbed or taken advantage of in Mexico! 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Perhaps you can get a friend to go along. Also it depends on where you go in Mexico. Research the area and ask other peoples opinions online of what area you journey too. All the best.
Thanks, Don , for setting a fire under us to get going to the dentist. We've been procrastinating too long. We drove into Naco last October? looking for the dentist somebody else recommended and could not find the place. We will look for the building you showed in this video. I think I actually got the US phone no. from the front door too !
Thanks for the video Don... sorry to hear about your tooth... just made me cringe as you were telling what happened...ouch ouch ouch!! Hi Deb. Yikes -25 reminds me of growing up in Canada. Have to admit I dont miss that part at all. Sorry to make you cringe about the teeth LOL. But the good news is that I hope to have it all restored and all from youtube earnings. Faithful folks like you who watch literally make it all happen. Otherwise its not financially realistic for me. Thanks as always. Cheers.
I saw someone recommended adding 10% Portland cement in the "floor". I was gonna recommend a weed barrier but you passed that point. If any UPM (undesirable plant material) comes up through the "floor" get some horticultural grade vinegar. Usually a 20% or higher mixture, not the 5% vinegar you consume.
Thanks Oscar! Not being an American citizen they told me I always need to present my Permanent resident/green card. Which was easy. Thanks so very much for watching.
Suitcase cash! Thanks for airing this info, Don: I'm procrastinating and maybe this is a way for me to go. Another of your commenters named a similar sound dentist sort of within my reach, across the border below San Diego--thanks again for the conversation on this. Re the Shed: Ha! you did a lot of floor so you could have easy access to the footprint before laying the foundation wall around it--much easier dumping, good approach. So many ways to do things!
Hi PM LM. Hope you got some good info here on dentistry then. Yes thats the beauty of building here in Cochise County so many ways you can get creative with your build. Thanks for watching!

lucky me, I went to the Philippines and had dental work there. 3 crowns and a super clean-up of my teeth for only 970 USD...of course over a few weeks of time...

Interesting you have your own dentist in the philippines. Very smart Kriss. Yep shed construction continues as we speak. Will show everyone how its coming along very soon. Yes all doors to my shed will be snake proof. I dont mind some species but have to not make it welcoming for the 2 species of poisonous ones on my property. Yep no end to brown snakes in OZ for sure. @@charlesmiddleton3247 There are a few hummers at Ash Canyon about 15 min away. They have been feeding them there for decades. On my property they should be buzzing around the end of next month!
I’ve been considering moving to SE AZ, either Bisbee or Sierra Vista. I’m sure there are an adequate number of primary care doctors but wondering how far I would have to travel for specialty care such as dermatologists, gastroenterologists, etc. and, at 73, all of us geezers hope the Big C doesn’t catch up with us, but, if it does, guessing one would have to travel to Tucson or even Phoenix to receive cancer care.

hello my friend DON . i like all your life there in cochise Please can you mention some are in north cochise worth one like me to make advnture and buy aranch ? i mean can you help us by mention some area you would like to buy if you start now after all your experience
Because it’s fairly inexpensive I would look at the McNeal area. But they’re not exactly northern Cochise County. This area still has some very reasonable price land, but is a little more remote than where I live.
Hi Frank. If you check out the video to the end you will see that none of the cash got put in a mexican bank. It all ended up with the dentist office. But then that is where it was destined for.
I thought of those but my understanding is that they are more cosmetic rather than teeth replacement. I have lots of big gaps in my smile and need to be able to chew better etc.
That would make sense for sure. I didnt want to have $1100.00 U.S. blow away in the wind in using it as a prop for the film. The good news is that none of it blew away and it all ended up at the dentist office where it was destined to go. That said it was a bit harder than I thought removing the tape without tearing the cash-o-la.
Depends on how many videos you put up and how much they are watched. If you check a few videos back I cover all the details of that including how much I earn.
Haha, you're joking but I honestly see Americans disillusioned by what this country will become in less than 10 years will actually MOVE TO MEXICO/CENTRAL AMERICA for a better life. Thanks for this info, Otis--thinking about this and glad to know there is a closer option for me in Ventura County.
Way to go Otis. Glad to hear that it works well for you.
Ha! I went to a dental school in San Francisco in 1973. Wasn't nearly as fancy as that building.
Yep it got classier looking every year I think.
Be in Sierra Vista Monday - Coming around via Douglas Route from here in Rodeo.. Will Wave as we go by -
Hope you have a lovely time in Sierra Vista Dennis!
Darn those frozen chocolates. I broke a tooth by putting regular chocolate chips in my ice cream 🙀 LOVE You
LOL. Yep good lesson on not eating frozen brownies though! Thanks for caring!
Thanks, Don , for setting a fire under us to get going to the dentist. We've been procrastinating too long. We drove into Naco last October? looking for the dentist somebody else recommended and could not find the place. We will look for the building you showed in this video. I think I actually got the US phone no. from the front door too !
Here is their website Nancy hope this helps. dentalnaco.com/
Thanks for the video Don... sorry to hear about your tooth... just made me cringe as you were telling what happened...ouch ouch ouch!! I have thought about getting those implants... and yes WOW... they are too high priced for me... I need 5 -6 of those...not going to happen. it is supposed to be -25 with windchill here next week (most of the week) ENJOY your weather ...good luck on your fund sounds like a great thing to do... stay safe and healthy... from Deb from South Dakota
Good tips bob. Many thanks.
I think you have a great plan Don. What papers , documents did you show to get across to Mexico, and to get back to the US ? Love your adventures.
Thanks Oscar! Not being an American citizen they told me I always need to present my Permanent resident/green card. Which was easy. Thanks so very much for watching.
Hopefully you had some good tacos while in mexico
Thanks Jose. Just had my mouth worked on so will have to try them another time.
Go figure. I find your channel just when your moving away.
Im looking to move to apache county as soon as possible, so it was nice to see a channel right next door 🤷♀️🤷♀️😋
.
Or. I miss understood the title. Lolol
Yep, you have to watch the whole video to get the gist of what’s going on
Hi ! Is it cash only in Mexico? The place you went to looked pretty nice!
I went across in Yuma last year and we used a credit card at the dental clinic and pharmacy.
It just depends on what office Anthony. This one I am using wants cash only. Thus the cash you see in the vid all went to them for my visit. After I untaped it from the suitcase of course LOL.
Cool. I hope it was a great experience Sarah!
Hope we get to see a before and after pic of your dental work! ;)
Definitely will sh ow that Simone. Thanks for watching!
So long suckas. Great intro Don.
Thanks douglas stewart. It was a fun video to produce.
For a small town (about 50k) we have adequate care and Tucson is 70 minutes away (I've got helicopter coverage insurance from PHI). There are several clinic's you didn't mention (Banner and VA just to name two) and Canyon Vista hospital is really well staffed.
Thanks so much for the info chuckrit.
😎 Did someone recommended this particular dentist, or did you find them online? Thanks!
Hi Red & April. I found him online but carefully read a zillion reviews before choosing him. So far I am delighted with his skill level, care and excellent communication. Of course we shall see when the full implant process is complete. But so far so good!
@@affordabledesertliving3487 Hi Don! Appreciate the quick reply! We have been putting off going to the dentist, but It's definitely time. I have already looked him up and found his contact info. He does have great reviews, and your experience is helpful. We will also talk to some other local friends who have had dental work done in Mexico. Thanks! 😊
Well, this may sound morbid go to estates sell. I have found some good buys and it's helping people.
just saying
Thanks for the info Wallace and of course for watching all these vids.
Go!
Thanks for watching.
lucky me, I went to the Philippines and had dental work there. 3 crowns and a super clean-up of my teeth for only 970 USD...of course over a few weeks of time...
Wow too great!
I go to Dr. Tostada in Agua Prieta MX.
Way to go Nett P. Glad it works out well.
Don, what town are you closest to? I am 82 years old and am moving down there this summer, soon, I hope.
Closest place with all of the services I need like Lowes, Safeway etc. is Sierra Vista
I need some dental work done. It would really annoy me to have the work done and then kick the bucket next week, lol. At our age sometimes it is difficult to keep our priorities straight...
Hi Cherel. One never knows their expiration date for sure. What I do know is that for chewing etc. I am missing way too many teeth and figured I need to do something. Thanks for watching.
also hear in Australia it cost alot when i go to Philippines i have my own dentist i get the same man all the time alot cheaper i had one tooth out there last may im hoping to go again to i need my wisdom teeth all out big job also my front teeth wearing out again he only just fixed it last may to oh well ill see we have a place and farm up there so its nice to live there Oh Don you teasing us with your shed cant wait to see what your doing hope you make it snake proof to they love live in sheds they do hear in Australia i was face to face in my shack once with a brown snake i killed it in the end
That’s so neat you can visit the same person each time. That’s important in health care I think. 🙂
Although to be honest for whatever reason I saw more carpet pythons than browns when I was there.
I love this man
Gosh Mark your going to make an old guy choke up... LOL.
@@affordabledesertliving3487 😂😂 you are my new RUclips grandpa lmao
@@markdavis7645 OK grandson LOL
@@affordabledesertliving3487 🤣 in all honesty, I found your channel because we recently bought 40 acres in northern AZ and are preparing to move there and leave the rat race!
@@affordabledesertliving3487 me and the wife absolutely love your channel :)
In a medical emergency, even a half hour can be a long time.
I am actually 7 min drive from a medical facility. Just not dental.
@@affordabledesertliving3487 That’s great. A lot of the properties I’ve seen are a half hour to an hour away from help, which is the main reason why i haven’t bought anything.
You don't have to answer this but I was just wondering how much land do you have?
Is it RU4 zoned?
Anyways really like your channel you are doing a great job on your homestead..
Thumbs up!!
Hi Jay Bird. No worries. Yes I specifically shopped for RU-4 properties and it is 4 acres here. Thanks so much for your encouragement.
Don, You almost gave this ole Marine a coronary! Or is that a cardiac? Anyway, nice info. I owe you one for that prank!! Good to see you take care of business and that all your viewers loving you. STAY safe and stay well:-)
LOL glad you survived my prank Charles! Thanks as always for coming by!
@@affordabledesertliving3487 Hey Don, I'm glad I survived your prank! Had to go put my 70 year old body to work shoveling snow. We're getting a good artic blast OF COLD air for this week. NOTHING like your nostrils sticking together in the morning as you shovel along singing a song. Could you let me know when the hummingbirds start coming back your way?
Really heavy duty health issues are often taken care of in Tucson if you live here. But for most stuff the hospitals here are excellent.
We might have to make a trip down there to get a teeth cleaning. ❤❤❤ 😊❤️👍
So far Pam, I think the service is very quality and the Price is definitely right.
Very informative post & comments. I am very interested to learn about the service , cost and safety regarding the dental work. Also if anyone has any information regarding accommodation, please post.
Thanks very much. My suggestion would be you could do an Airbnb in Bisbee and then drive over. It’s only 15 minute drive from Bisbee. Hope that helps.
@@affordabledesertliving3487 Thanks for your reply and the information within. I watch your videos regularly. Your hard work is inspiring us to build our own place. Good luck with your dental journey.
I had that same tooth pulled out on Xmas eve 2022,
Here in Australia its free for aged pensioners like me.
It would have been $400 if I had to pay
Good ol OZ. Glad it was free for you mate.
Oh no don’t move to Mexico, but if you need Spanish classes I can help with that.
AWESOME!
It would definitely be a good move to learn spanish considering my location Jose! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching Sunny Skye!
My goal is to have them all replaced with dentures.
Definitely the most affordable option under dog.
I heard good and bad things about Mexico dental work. Be careful!
My experience was great!
hello my friend DON . i like all your life there in cochise Please can you mention some are in north cochise worth one like me to make advnture and buy aranch ?
i mean can you help us by mention some area you would like to buy if you start now after all your experience
Because it’s fairly inexpensive I would look at the McNeal area. But they’re not exactly northern Cochise County. This area still has some very reasonable price land, but is a little more remote than where I live.
I know a guy who lost $100,000 through a Mexican bank. Think hard about taking a bunch of 🤑 down south.
Hi Frank. If you check out the video to the end you will see that none of the cash got put in a mexican bank. It all ended up with the dentist office. But then that is where it was destined for.
@@affordabledesertliving3487 Glad all went well with you. I just know of two are three folks who got robbed down south. Live well stay safe.
Don’. Did you have to have a passport coming back into the US living so close to your home ?
Great question Oscar. No since I am Canadian I simply had to present my green card. US citizens only have to show their drivers license.
You can do a cheaper and without pain go to see you some veneers never have to leave home. 🤔
I thought of those but my understanding is that they are more cosmetic rather than teeth replacement. I have lots of big gaps in my smile and need to be able to chew better etc.
My clinic is - you know - free 😂. Not dentistry.
Yep good ol Canada. Definitely a major blessing to live there with the health care part.
I pay cash for my teeth work lol
Yep thats what I did too Beach life.
how much money was in the briefcase you showed us.
Exactly enough to pay for my dental work in Mexico. Thanks for watching.
so the cost was????
We could see the reflection of the Scotch tape.
Wow how much youtube pays?
Depends on how many videos you put up and how much they are watched. If you check a few videos back I cover all the details of that including how much I earn.
❤❤❤
Thanks for watching Tea S.
Get Mexico toofes
Hilarious omega royal. Havent heard that word for a while.
They pulled all my teeth.
Ouch. I hope that is what you wanted or it was needed!
America is not even expensive come to Kommie canada now that is a bundle
So far so good I’m happy with my choice to go to Mexico. But we shall see As their is more work to be done
Don't show everyone your money australia
Nope wasnt my money Keith. It was the dentists and he has it all. I dont keep cash around.
Haha, you're joking but I honestly see Americans disillusioned by what this country will become in less than 10 years will actually MOVE TO MEXICO/CENTRAL AMERICA for a better life. Word of advice: Anyone wanting that better life better get south of the border because after Ji and the Chinese kick our asses and take us over, NO ONE will be leaving...JS!
Thanks for watching Orion Warren. Thankfully owning your own property here in Cochise County with solar/rainwater harvesting its pretty affordable. But of course things like dental.... another story.
Holy moly don you looked like a drug dealer with all that cash hahaha glad your get your dental issues looked after … Kev c
Thats priceless Kev! Yes I kinda do look a bit shady in this pic for sure.
Your smile may be a business expense to attract more viewers.
Wow Neil my smile a tax write off? Now that would be amazing.
Definite “NO” if you do not ask.
