    I am an organizing junkie and this is one of the BEST videos that I have seen, especially with showing the examples. It is clear, concise, and makes me want MORE!

    I put my lids on my food storage containers & store that way. Yes, it uses more space but then you don't collect too many containers. I love it🖤

    Organizing is my kryptonite, urgh.
    So thank you so much for these ideas! I loved all of them, but my faves are the box for lids (soooo many lids in our kitchen), and the drawer dedicated to de-cluttering. Both very simple ideas, and also very very helpful.
    I'm gonna have to re-watch this :).
    As always, great work! Looking forward to the next video.

    My condo is small there is little storage space. I feel I need to have only what fits. I constantly work on getting rid of stuff and trust me I have way too much. This makes me feel great.

      Same! My new spot has little storage which is why I’ve been struggling so badly. Downsizing has definitely helped me get more organized but I keep telling myself I need get rid of more! 😅

    Love your channel. You are a lovely speaker, intelligent and talented with classy charm. The Renaissance Faire episode was the first episode I watched. You were the queen of the Fairies ,so lovely. I'm from Canada 76 years old and you look like my grand daughter. Good luck with all your projects.

    Going along with drop zones, I find not have a home for small things really adds up and can add to visual clutter and stress. So having a place for things like keys, wallet, spare batteries, loose change, receipts, gift cards etc. helps a lot (and I'm not talking about an overcrowded catch-all hard-to-open junk drawer)

    Active vs passive is such a good frame of mind to have. I have holiday decor that I've already purged, but now I need to go back to. I just don't seasonally decorate beyond a wreath or tree for Christmas. I've learned my taste changes in rotation, though, so decor items don't get fully purged until I know I dislike them or haven't touched for a year. Same with clothes. If I don't use it in a year, I get rid of it.

    Such a fun channel. I default to Dark Academia for interior aesthetics, and my wife tends towards Minimalism. So, I feel your pain over the tension here between the Maximalist Dark Academia and Cottagecore aesthetics and the desire for simplicity. You seem to suggest here that organized Maximalism somehow screams less; my wife would dispute that. I'm certainly not convinced that our lives would be transformed by buying new stuff to replace the old stuff, just so it looks neater. My Dark Academia is without doubt tinged with the Aristo-shabby reality (typified by Princess Anne).

  • @Highland_Paddy
    @Highland_Paddy 6 месяцев назад

    Yes, I like the idea of organize and minimize, BUT then I also bought some stuff because I wanted stuff or whatever, so I will sound contrarian if I go point-by-point how you'd still lose your mind trying to work with some of the spaces and construction limitations that I've had over the years, even if houses are bigger than apartments, etc.
    I don't have any closets with traditional doors like that. [We had one in our old house, but the doors were all hollow plyboard stuff and couldn't hang much more than a poster.] The bedroom closets seem to all have sliding doors now, often with mirrors, and those usually malfunction and get removed because ain't got time FOR THAT!!! Consequently, my shoes take up the space in my closet that USED TO be a second rack where I could hang pants below my shirt rack, which I put in myself and worked quite nicely for years, I must say, so now I just don't hang any pants or most shirts because the jackets and suits go up there instead. You guys probably need less shoes.
    Um, I still like blue or green towels or something for odd times of the year, but I need to keep all old towels now for sopping up rain in the garage the three times a year we get some. More this year for a change. If only artwork could SELL more often and then I could "collect" less. Sigh.........

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 6 месяцев назад

      I coudn't do that NOW, though, because the tub and the shower are the same unit, not like my childhood house where we had a separate bathroom with a big, square shower that I miss probably more than just about anything now.

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 6 месяцев назад

      I have trouble putting things away WITHOUT making it difficult, tho. I mean, I prefer the belts on a hook to the belts in a bag because I forget what I have to a degree if I can't see where they are. But I'm also really seasonal with clothing, so it's EASY to put that stuff away until I'm going crazy in a month or two wondering WHERE is that ONE PAIR of pants or whatever. I like to give good advice but I don't pretend I have it all figured out yet.

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 6 месяцев назад

      What is this COOKING of which ye speake? I was going to mention some books that you've probably read already, anyway. Maybe next time.

    • @Highland_Paddy
      @Highland_Paddy 6 месяцев назад

      I'm totally afraid of that style of pants hanger because I already have too many heavy jackets hanging, as I mentioned. AND I don't have the trusty wooden dowel closet anymore and these wire suspend thingees don't seem like they should really hold as much weight as I entrust to them. Fingers crossed....
