So great to hear Jimmy Buffett playing in the background (Volcano)!
I like this format for updates, three of you in the parks talking about the parks. Very fun.
Fitting that the last song in the background was Diggin in Dinoland.
Rescuers Down Under could add to Craig’s idea for an Australia area. That movie compliments Animal Kingdom
Craig it was great getting to meet you at Destination D23! Thank you for taking the time to chat with me!
DIS fam! Thank you so much for doing this! I missed you all! Have a great rest of your week and I hope to see you all real soon!
Thought Craig had a FedEx uniform on for a second 😆 Great work y’all!!
I wish the muppets had a ride
Agreed. MV3D is beyond outdated. If they could turn that into a dark ride of some kind would be excellent.
it’s like running a city like boston. how
much history is removed or renovated and how to integrate old and new is a huge ongoing challenge. Like dropping the old
parrot
into a new pirates
lounge.
You guys are awesome! Thank you
Nice to see the discussion about D23. Keep it up. You guys are doing a great job.
Here's what Disney should be doing for Disney's Animal Kingdom:
1) They should replace the Dino-Rama section of Dinoland USA with attractions themed to the Ice Age Franchise
2) They should be utilizing the free area of land located between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch for South America
3) They should have a Zootopia attraction in Rafiki's Planet Watch instead of replacing It's Tough To Be A Bug
4) If they don't follow through with #1 & #2, then they should utilize the free area of land located between Asia & Rafiki's Planet Watch for a new Prehistoric/Extinct-Themed Land
Thank you DiS family! You guys are literally the best! I cant wait to see you again live some time!
All you need to know about modern Disney is that at animal kingdom they are playing All Star in this video.
Love watching you in the parks! Fun!
Thanks for the recap!
So Happy to see you guys on Tuesday! Great show! 🎉❤
Love that this discussion was in the park’.
Regarding Indiana Jones in place of Dino. I think it fits with the Tropical or South America theme because 2 of the Indiana Jones movies had scenes set in Peru.
And I would love to see a animal trail focused on the Amazon.
I miss the old test track! Hopefully they bring back some of that nostalgia with the update! Thanks for the info ❤
God. I feel like I'm sitting at a funeral. Not because of the news buy the way it is being discussed.
I for one would love to see an Indiana Jones section of the park . You definitely feel an Indy presence already at Expedition Everest and the Maharajah Jungle Trek. Maybe play more on Indy's fear of Snakes , or the Bugs from Temple of Doom.
I agree. I thought the news was great! Dinoland has had its day. It's time to move on. Encanto at AK is a perfect fit as a replacement, environmentally (including animals) and culturally. Tropical America's brings a new continent to the party. What's not to like? Without telling us what the new land(s) will be, they basically committed to the largest expansion they have ever done at Magic Kingdom. Country Bears is old and broken down. They are breathing new life into it. I'm not sure where all the negativity is coming from. This is what everyone wanted - Disney investing in and expanding the parks.
I LOVE the idea of having Indiana Jones ride coming !
Just heard you mention the Wanda Jackson song in Country Bear ...She is from my hometown of Maud, OK. We used to have a whole day dedicated to her every year when I was growing. I was even the Queen of Wanda Jackson Day at one Point. Never new one of her songs was played there.
That’s incredible.
Wild! Several Country Bears songs are in the Smokejumpers Grill loop in California Adventure. Yeah. Those songs in Country Bears are ALL Country songs of the 50s-60s! I forget where I read, but Country Bear Jamboree is basically a time capsule sendup of backwoods, redneck central Florida from the era before Disney.
Thanks for the update!
Awe.... u lost me when Volcano from Jimmy Buffett came one....Sail on Sailor!😢😢😢
Tough to be a bug fits so perfectly under the tree of life, a shame they are giving up that perfect cohesion between attraction and its physical placement within the park for zootopia.
I missed you guys so much!
I love all your input
Love the pirate lounge idea!!!
Love the discussion about what is and isn’t coming to Disney world .(I think the background music was a little too loud for the discussion-maybe I’m just getting old and grumpy). Truly enjoy the material you have been putting out. Great job guys
The new pirate lounge sounds so cool! And maybe, MAYBE, it’s getting closer to having a Redd face character over here in Orlando 😂
I'm glad about test track. I'm an artist and I'm so over designing my car. It leads to black walls. I miss original test track. I hope they go with an interesting ride experience. Also, need more Muppets. "All the Guys that turn me on turn me down!" A 60s classic!
Fun little spot, surprised no 1 around u guys. All good points.. Have fun.... love ya bye
Love the new studio
I REALLY REALLY hope AK does not stray from it's roots, even with changes/IP. Now I'm nervous though!
Unfortunately the general audience isn't fond of original IP anymore. Dinosaur is a fantastic ride and its gonna be a sad day when it closes smh wish they could just build around it.
OMG! Are we doing this now! I missed it live! So bummed!
At first I thought Craig came dressed as a FedEx delivery person
Doing Disney songs in a country vein is not all that far out; I have the CD "O Mickey, Where Art Thou", which was released in the wake of the Coen Bros "O Brother ...". The CD sounds great, and I could see several of those arrangements used for a Country Bear Jamboree show. Especially the Dueling Banjos version of "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious".
Concept looks cool
Hopefully the pirate lounge will have the meat and vegetable skewers like they do at Disneyland and a bigger grill to get them out faster. The one in Disneyland is next to the pirate ride too although you see the jungle boat ride easier.
Don’t get my hopes up.
Okay so I drive by DAK late Sunday night and there were a bunch of cars there and mind you the park closes at 7. How are cars pulling in after 8:30?
that AK art is fantastic. way more detailed than the blue sky drawings. you enter into mexico round to your right into the jungles past the live snakes and then enter the path to the encanto village. there is even a stage / meet greet area lower left.
Great coverage of this news, love your overall positivity. I was happy with the amount of announcements & really hope they commit to AK project soon & get it started. This feels like a cohesive enough concept that imagineering can pull off
Dino land needs to be turned into something new. It will be interesting to see what’s to come.Zootopia is a great movie. I’m looking forward to see what’s done with the theming.
Yay Erica! Phins Up!
Is Ryno ok? He seems like he hates doing this type of videos.
Casita as a kids playground area would be great.
Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular is so much fun though, I know a lot of people who would be disappointed if it went away.
I love that shirt, Craig! Ryno looks unhappy, hope he's okay. 💘
I was at the last regular season game in the old Orange Bowl. We squished that fish and sang the Miami Dolphin song on our way to the AFC Championship.
Indiana Jones was a given. They can copy/paste the DL version and returns the building. It’s not in the conservation theme or animal theme of AK, but Dinoland really wasn’t either.
Since the area is going to be based on the South American tropics,Indiana Jones makes sense if it's based on the Crystal Skull movie since that movie took place in South America! Making an exciting ride of that movie would be the real challenge!
Dinosaur also can make sense if you change the location of the museum to the Yucatán Peninsula where the meteor hit.
The ride couldn't be any worse than the movie !
The Tokyo version of Indiana Jones already has the Crystal Skull theming and is set in Central America. It is virtually the same ride. The only real difference is the color palette with blue (water element) being dominant instead of the red (fire element) hues in Forbidden Eye.
Keep Dinosaur a Dinosaur ride, but make it better. They can easily make a case for a dinosaur dig site in Central/South America.
Then replace the Indy stunt show with a copy of the Disneyland Indy ride. It’s ok to have two rides with the same ride system and basically the same track plan. They can always make a mirror image of the track for the Indy ride to try help keep it from seeming too familiar.
Somewhere there needs to be an Encanto casita dark ride using the Mystery Manor ride system. And somewhere they should do a Moana ride using the Shanghai Pirates ride system. Not sure where it will fit, but this needs to happen!
@@SciFi2285 Oh that's interesting. I bet the theming is amazing.
just started watching but have to mention that whatever lens you guys used for this, it is giving the soarin over the world video flex. Giving Erica and Craig a Popeye arm
To replace Dinoland, it would make sense to me to do either South America with a focus on the Amazon rainforest OR do Australia with a focus on its desert and Great Barrier Reef
The Amazon rainforest would definitely fit in perfectly with the hot and humid Florida weather!
Boppin' to Allstar in the background.
I'm most excited about the return of Soarin' over California and the Pirate's Tavern. Did they confirm the tavern would go where Tortuga is now? I've seen other speculation that it would go in the (much smaller) spot where Pirate's League was. I'm hoping for the former so there's enough space for a good number of people to enjoy. I'll be really annoyed if it's an Oga's situation with mostly standing tables.
Just got back from DL and honestly I would love Indiana Jones here. That ride is awesome. But my preference would be Zootopia and Encanto.
No imagineering needed, Disney has to keep some originality(that’s what it’s all about),update and refresh the current great rides and build for the future…park goers love perks,we love what Disney stands for(to make people happy) thank you Josh. obtw, beautiful people in front of trash cans doesn’t work, maybe a lake, palm trees or court yard at the grand Flo…GREAT SHOW
and i dunno why people dont understand that indy was about archeology and not see thats what the theming would be for this new area. getting away from topography and all that stuff. but theres animals in columbia and mexico. endangered species etc. conservation of the rainforests. rivers and fauna, archeology. so yes. all of these could and would fit. and indy would fit somewhere in there. and yes, country bears needed to change. having a bear named liver lips singing blood in the saddle in 2023 is frickin ridiculous
Did Ryno have an eye procedure?? What's with the sunglasses? It makes him appear unengaged.
That Avengers E-Ticket ride is looking like a Amazing Spiderman or Back To The Future type ride to me!?
Why not Raya and the Last Dragon in AK? They were going to do a Beastly area anyway and it's a perfect fit!
I don’t think Raya made enough money for them.
You were talking about an Australia land at animal kingdom, near Nemo. What if... they some how got the IP for Steve Irwin. His family has a show on HBO max. It just feels so much like animal kingdom with their conservation ideals. And I wouldn't be surprised if Disney and the Australian zoo had breeding programs.
It's not conservation, but on the animal front, imagine if the area right beside Nemo was a kids section focused on Bluey.
@@DISUnlimited I was hoping they would add more animals and programs for breeding different animals. And if those two powerhouses got together would be a dream. Id be sad if they don't add more south American animals with this new land, maybe a whole Amazon corner. Thanks!!
I am excited for south/ central America to move in though! We could get capybaras!
I’m imagining with the lack of room in Avengers campus it’s a screen based dark ride like Transformers.
Craig, I hate the "build the car" section, too.
It's weird to me that with all the talk of rethemes, I've heard so little buzz from Disney about a Coco retheme to Mexico. Three Caballeros is a decent ride, but one with no mainstream presence and a lot of maintenance issues. Besides Journey into Imagination, it's definitely the EPCOT ride most due for a makeover and a boat ride through the land of the dead would be a big winner if they put some resources into it.
There's a real reason why Mexico is staying the way it is. Mexico is a pavilion about the country not the holiday. We need to not have every Epcot attraction be a 2 hour wait!
That was a BRIEF discussion about the new Moana: The Way of Water. What about its place in the original Epcot vision of edutainment? I think it's going to be wildly popular and help reclaim some of the park's original intention.
Ryno and Erica haven’t done it yet so we’ll explore it more when the team has seen it.
If Encanto replaces Dinoland I better see a spinning Donkey ride starring Luisa in place of triceratopspin or I will fight someone
This is the best comment I have read on this subject anywhere! LOL!! That would be awesome! :)
elemental could be in the tree. that would be a great show to nap through. before we are animals we are elements.
It's tough to be a bug still needs a home at DAK. Where would you put it? I think it would be cute over in the petting zoo. Just an homage with boxes of bugs.
All of the songs are real songs from the 60s
it’s like the 4th update of the CBJ. amazing this survives. I am Big Al
I vote that they turn Dinosaur into a Great Dalmatian Escape! It could be a family ride like Runaway Railway, it is already laid out like a car escaping on a track, Cruella is semi-recent and wildly popular, and it ties into animal conservation! And the outside could be themed to DeVil Manor.
I have the same hat, shirt, and demeanor as Craig. We would literally be best friends. haha
Sign me up.
Many are saying this is just more BS stall tactics from Disney. They keep making announcements of dumb ideas like this, but never DO anything. They need to stop with the announcements.
Getting Weekend at Bernie's vibes with Ryno in the middle there.
Ryno makes such great points
I could tell Ryno was less than impressed with the "announcements" coming out of D23. It's obvious Disney has no real answer for Epic Universe.
Encantoooo ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ casita
I'm so sad Dinosaurs won't be at DAK anymore! They have a home let just scale it back.
Keep the ghost in his box and leave us the floating candelabra
Indiana Jones belongs in Hollywood studios because its all about movie magic
Ryno I’m right with you.
Love this being filmed at the park. You forgot to mention that the ideas are for the next decade ( which makes sense with how long it takes Disney to build new attractions). They still have nothing to help when epic universal opens.
Trio I wanna see all the time!
The ding is over, just stick an attraction wherever it’s convenient
Two suggestions,Hatbox ghost belongs on Halloween and Hollywood park needs some sort of new version of the Great Movie ride…
Saw the thumbnail and thought Craig works for FedEx now
I mean I’ll deliver a package if someone hands me one.
Oceania!!! Please Disney! It includes Australia through to Polynesia. So much scope for animal kingdom!
Bring back dream finder too
I feel like South America or Latin America (to include Coco in Mexico) would make the most sense to replace Dinoland given the other lands of Asia and Africa. If they did Australia maybe an Oceania theme could work where they could include the cultures of all the Pacific islands not part of Asia. That would allow Moana, Finding Nemo, Lilo & Stich, Rescuers Down Under, and some Polynesian themes to fit in there. I think a Lilo & Stitch adventure ride might be more fun than Indiana Jones even though that's my favorite ride in DL.
My question is, are they trying to incorporate more animals from another continent? Which animals could do well in an area like that? Could be a consideration for the new land.
Ok, I’m glad something was said about the Muppets! I watched the live stream and was soooo excited that pretty much right away they started with the Muppets. I was watching with baited breath….I was thinking it was slow work up to a big Muppets announcement….and then NOTHING!?!?…very disappointed 😔. Do you think this is a possible work up to something being announced at D23?
One of the last non-IP rides getting the boot in Dinosaur. What a joke!
I also agree with you all that the Encanto house would be beautiful in DAK
The only way they could make Indy fit in AK is if the storyline featured a mythical creature like Everest, maybe a Coatl????
so get some cocktails and spit ball why it’s in the tree ? maybe the tree is a transporter view master and we are secretly
looking into their lives in the city. there you go. 😊
😊
I will miss Dinosaur. However I’m overjoyed to possibly get Indiana Jones. Everyone is missing the point on why Indiana Jones fits. Crystal Skull was based in Peru. Peru is Tropical America’s! Then you add Bugs from tropical forest, Vampire Bats, Capuchin monkeys and Boa Constrictor snakes. All of these was included in the Indiana Jones franchise along these are animals that belong to the locale and it fit’s perfectly. Plus if they add and ending confronting the Crystal Skull aliens. You have a thrilling adventure attraction that will have everyone crying… Why it had to be snakes?
I still wonder if the Avengers ride will be something like smugglers run.
Why not jungle book for Animal Kingdom, or Tarzan, or Lilo and stitch or something combo? Encanto in a Columbia pavilion in Epcot, Coco instead of 3 caballeros in Mexico pavilion. I personally would like to see more Cars related IP in World, more Tangled IP, more Monsters Inc IP, do something with the old stitch ride, do something else with yesterdayland speedway, Villains land needs to happen as well. Make better use of tom Sawyer Island to eat more crowds. Update figment ride in Epcot as well.
RiP Steve Harwell! I hope you didn't get demonitized for the background music.
