Your new in-line six-cylinder diesel sets the scene with a maximum output increased by 15 kW / 20 PS to 250 kW / 340 PS. In the speed range between 1,750 and 2,250 min -1it keeps its maximum torque ready, increased by 20 to 700 Nm. This engine also combines stage turbocharging with the latest version of common rail direct injection. Its turbocharging system has variable inlet geometry in both the high and low pressure stages. The increased pulling power in this way leads to a clear plus in performance. For example, the BMW 740d xDrive has a value that is 0.2 seconds better to 5.0 seconds for the sprint from zero to 100 km / h. At the same time, its combined fuel consumption is reduced by 0.4 liters per 100 kilometers.
Both new drives have exhaust gas aftertreatment, the components of which close to the engine consist of a diesel oxidation catalytic converter and an SCR coating on the diesel particulate filter. For an optimal reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions (NO X ), a second metering unit is also integrated at the output of the SCR system close to the engine. The models of the BMW 7 Series, powered by the new in-line six-cylinder diesel engines, thus meet the Euro 6d emissions standard.
Additional plus in sprinting ability and efficiency thanks to 48-volt mild hybrid technology.
The mild hybrid technology used in the new diesel engine variants makes an additional contribution to spontaneous power delivery and increased efficiency. It consists of a 48-volt starter generator, which enables particularly intensive braking energy recovery, and an additional battery to store the electricity generated in this way. The powerful starter generator can be used to both relieve and support the internal combustion engine. When accelerating, it generates an electrical boost. This immediately available additional output of 8 kW / 11 PS supports the dynamic power development of the drive when starting off and during intermediate sprints.

In parallel to the introduction of the new in-line six-cylinder engines, the latest version of the integral active steering will be available for all model variants of the BMW 7 Series from July 2020. The optional chassis system combines a variable rack ratio on the front axle with targeted steering of the rear wheels. In this way, agility and sovereignty are optimized at higher speeds, as is comfort when maneuvering. The rear wheels turn in opposite directions at a particularly low speed of less than 3 km / h. This increases the maneuverability of the luxury limousine even more when parking and leaving parking spaces and when slowly passing through narrow spaces.

What about the reliability of BMWs? I own a 750d g11, got it when it had 35000 km now it's 70000 km and climbing without a single issue. Before that, I had 535d F11, owned it for 3 years, and only had 1 minor issue.
@@I.B1 70k is low mileage.... Try getting one with 200k.
@@MariusVerbavicius Actually by 535d F10 went until to 140k (drove it for 100k) until I sold it, the only thing that broke was the generator belt. Try getting any 5-10 year old car with 200k and issues are inevitable. I think there is no point in buying such a high end car at 200k if you can't afford to take care of her properly or you don't know how to service it yourself.
@@I.B1 Service by self for this car is not worth it. Too much work. 3liter diesel engines going out at 200k on f10's is quite often, engines chains brake, which costs 5k only for other used engine. That would not happen if people would change oil every 10k, not 30-40k. I got used one now with 245k and it did have lot of problem. I see other have lot of problems. These cars are good up to 200k or until warranty expires
