While its price may go down, it’s important to remember that these cars were meant to be owned by people with money. That means that the cost of the car will translate to the cost of maintenance, and unlike the quickly depreciating value, maintenance will remain expensive.
If you can afford to buy one new then it could be a good deal to buy one used and put the depreciated MSRP into repairs
And this is why we see so many older model German cars that are not taken care of, because the owner thought they could actually afford one.
If you can afford this, then the tiny amount you are saving is not worth the hassle. Also, you never know what type of gross things previous owners have done with their cars.@@Rudenbehr
There’s almost zero maintenance on EVs … but if you’re thinking of getting a used electric in 3-5 years make sure your dealer swapped out the battery for a new one, or expect your range to be >30% less than advertised.

I was in the market for a sedan. The BMW 7 series is a total length of 212 inches which is a little too long for me since my garage isn’t that deep, so I went with a 2012 Honda Civic instead

I believe they designed this bmw for the Chinese market because they are really into this split headlights design and China has a very large number of rich single middle-aged men that don't have anyone else to spend their money on

When you're coming up with a luxury car as a luxury company, invest in the exterior as much the interior. People get wowed by the outside of the car before the inside (given they get to sit in one). BMW has always and will always continue to make great cars in subpar bodies and it's even gotten worse now. The XM in my opinion is the only remarkable car they've managed to design in years which i think should have been the 7 series instead of whatever they tried achieving with it. The company just seem confused to me and i sometimes wonder how they managed to acquire Rolls Royce.

September 2023 my husband purchased a new BMW this was one of our options and this car is everything he described and more. He went with another BMW. however I’m sure this will be in our driveway soon!

It’s my first time seeing this channel and I have to say I’m impressed. But correction, peak BMW seven series is 1995.
I think the biggest problem they did some study or something where many modern luxury cars like bmw kinda falling apart much faster than normal “family” cars so you really are gonna suffer in maintenance costs if you wait it out
I pretty much solely buy fully depreciated German cars. I wonder how long it’ll take until I can afford it.

The Volvo S60 recharge with the optional B&O setup is definitely the best of any car I've reviewed. Right below that is the Mercedes SL63s sound system.

The BMW 7 series used to be my favorite luxury flagship sedan even over the Mercedes S class but I just cannot get into the look of this new BMW 7 series it looks…. ODD

What were the execs smoking when they ok’d this styling? I’m sure it’s one of those cars that doesn’t look hideous when you see it in person, but what about the whole idea of marketing it and making it oook good in pictures?? haha oh well, there’s always next generation… it’s like the 2002 gen, trying to be revolutionary instead of just making sure it looked decent. You’re right, just like the 2002 gen, it’s gonnna depreciate like crazy. Doesn’t make sense though. They’ve got Rolls Royce, they could see the proportions that were helping the S-Class to sell and look great… just a bit more tweaking could have looked great. Argh.

No maintenance and repairs compare to the Mercedes Benz S class. If you don’t believe me, go buy one and at 40K miles, repair, repair, repair, thousands, thousands, thousands.
These cars have only been out for a year. I don’t think anyone actually drove 40k miles in any of them yet
