    This was an absolutely awesome viseo! I’ve taken some military training into the hunting field pertaining to finding an animal shot at any distance when hunting alone. I mark it in degrees on a Linsatic compass used by recon soldiers in the field. As long as I travel in same direction and landmarks I’ve found it much easier to find my animals. Keep up the great videos !

    I’ve love what you’re saying. I’ve been watching for over two years now Ron I am a big proponent of the conservation of our big game. Animals are fish or ducks dogs every living creature that we all like to hunt the turkeys even I have a ranch in South Dakota, where you probably were just at just outsidein the Badlands national park

      Stunning landscape where you live, Ethan! Would love to see your ranch one day. I've roamed a lot of the Badlands since the 1970s, often hunting deer and coyotes on the edges, photographing them in the depths.

      @ that would be great. I think we would get along a lot because I am an avid reloader and Everett outdoorsman since I was introduced to it way back been reloading for over 15 years now well over that my daughter figured it out the other day and it was 21 years and I’ve been reloading I’ve bought maybe four or five boxes of factory ammunition and reloaded ever cents because I can’t get the results that I want with factory ammunition the consistency just is not there for certain cartridges and that’s why I reload, some of my cartridges that I have cartridges and I watched your whole thing on the 257 Roberts and deer to my heart because my kids are hunting with that cartridge. I wanted a lowing cartridge that was kind of in that realm of the 6 mm which I happened to, I would love to see you guys. I would love to even meet Joseph Beck at some point I enjoy listening to you guys podcast. I enjoy listening to your content every day that you have something new coming up. I look forward to someday maybe meeting you ranch is different than most people do a lot of different things rotational grazing, the soil health of my property and to help better the habitat for the wildlife, including dear wild turkeys, and everything else that lives around me eventually even pheasants and ducks

    Seems to me one time Steve renenla got asked if he would die for a deer and he said if it came to that. I’m right there with that statement. I’ve been hunting private and public land my whole life. I love watching wildlife and harvesting them. And I pay money to keep them alive

  • @williamthomas3620
    @williamthomas3620 24 дня назад

    Ron, when someone complains about paying a hunting lease or trespass fee, consider your history in those numbers. I started deer hunting in 1962, first lease, $125.00 / I checked my tax record and I made $600/month that year, i.e. 1 week salary. When I quit hunting 57 years later account of health, the deer lease was $1200 per year, still 1 weeks salary. from that perspective nothing had changed.
    Look at African hunting. As long as animals have value, they will be managed. Consider Kenya. When hunting was outlawed, poachers cleaned out the game.

    • @RonSpomerOutdoors
      @RonSpomerOutdoors 24 дня назад

      Fine analysis, William. For many U.S. hunters, however, leases in 1962 were a request, a "go-ahead," and a hand shake. That is the memory that sours leases today. Of course, some deer leases are more than others. Regardless, it is what it is and you pays your money and takes your pleasure -- or miss out. Cheers. (Think of the fees people pay to attend sporting events and concerts!)

    Most have no idea how to take care of their basic needs without a store. My sister replied to our meat being killed " we have peopole for that" Most would recoil at the killing and preparation of their meat. Me COVID hit. My thought was hungry no food in store. Squirrels in tree in my yard. Live in urban district. Deer rabbits too. The craziness of buying toilet paper. I have leaves water in case I have none

    Great video. I can’t afford a $3500 scope though.

    • @matalostodos
      @matalostodos 2 месяца назад

      You should stop being poor, is my advice.
      Jokes, I can’t afford it and actually don’t need it. If you learn about Parralax adjustment, and how it affects the sideways target view on your scope, find a setting that minimises target shift, and keep it on that magnification and parralax permanent, then a lot of cheap durable scopes will perform perfectly adequately as a fixed power laser beam scope.
      Best scope I ever had was a 2-7 bushnell trophy scout. I pointed it and 100% of things it looked at died.

    I truly agree with the idea of conservation and I put my money with private organizations. I just question, based on dismal government track records, how much of my taxes actually go to helping the game and habitat that we want. If 100 percent of the taxes go to wildlife, then awesome. But do we know that to be true?

    Today, Unless you come from Hunter/Fisher/camper Family (Dad, Gandpaw, Mother) Kids will never get the Itch/Drive/Nowlege to get started in Hunting. Very Odd that a city raised Kid will eventually become a hunter by himself. It will be so hard to keep traditions allive. I have a 11 Yrs old grandson, but I live Overseas. If I make it in good shape(Age) to roam the brush, I will teach him. At Least he knows guns. Dad is an active Soldier, But Hunting??
