I watched damn near every species breakdown video y’all have this past week and was dying for this one. You guys read my mind
I assumed, like all members of the One Sith, the Wyyrlok line adorned their bodies from head to toe in red and black Sith tattoos, much like Darth Maul as the apprentice of Darth Sidious. Remember! When the Legacy comics were being made it was a time for Maul was retconned to be a Dathomirian Zabrak and thus his body markings were also retconned into being the body markings of a Nightbrothers.
Darth Wyyrlok’s own daughter was still a Sith Acolyte and so still had her natural blue skin. I believe she too would have received the red and black tattoos once her training was complete. 😉
EDIT: ok I can’t believe I haven’t noticed that red skinned Chagrian in the KOTOR comic before. Maybe genetics do play a part in it, perhaps with each generation away from their watery home world causes a mutation in their skin pigmentation. Or this is the result of all Chagrians not being born on Champala 🤷🏻♂️

Chagrians lack of a desire for possessions seems at odds with the ideas of the Sith
That's a generalization not a 100% certainty.
That's why Mas Amedda was the PERFECT companion to Palpatine. Chagrians valued order, but were not so greedy that they wanted to possess absolute power and the galaxy, they could reign in their ambitions. Amedda was content to spend his life at Palpatine's side, being top administrator (Grand Vizier) of the Empire, but was so loyal he never tried to overthrow him once, meaning that Palpatine had no issue giving Amedda autonomy to even speak for him in many cases. It wasn't the same with the sith. He knew he had to keep Darth Vader on a short leash and spy on him constantly via his royal guard so he would know Vader is not making any plans to overthrow him. Amedda was probably very refreshing to Palpatine. He was someone Palpatine could trust with his secrets but remained outside the Sith order and never got involved with Sith business if not carrying out Palpatine's orders. Of course Palpatine didn't love him, as he loved no one, but apparently, after 23 years, never was angry enough with Amedda to consider replacing him.

To be completely honest, I didn't know they were a different species, I always thought they were some togruta subspecies
As a child, I always thought they were Twi'lek/Togruta hybrids

That deleted scene with the tongue is insane! I never would've guessed this species has any of these quirks and abilities without this awesome video...looks like its time to do some more reading up on the lore

I like to think of Mas Amedda as the closest thing Palpatine had to a true friend.

It's surprising that this species are so selfless and peaceful given one of them became Palpatine's right hand man and always struck me as the opposite. He always seemed very warm hungry and obsessed with being a higher class individual.
It reminds me of Toydarians being generally good fly people, yet Watto isn't
Funny how a Chagrian became Palpatine’s vice (de facto acting) Emperor and even succeeded him as the second Emperor (at least de iure, for he almost lacked power beyond his throneworld of Coruscant in reality).
In Legends many other Chagrians became the Regents of other Sith Emperors, if not possibly Emperor de iure like Amedda (I’m not sure about this detail).
For some reasons Chagrians seem born to be the Siths’ right hand.
And Empires were mostly racism against non-human …

Ive been subbed since the start more or less and this is the first time Ive seen the Metanerdz guy (I usually just listen to the audio). Usually it's a bit weird when you first see somebody you've only listened to for years. They never quite look like whatever vague image your mind envisioned. But strangely enough Metanerdz totally looks like he sounds. lol.
If you think about it it's such a joke that we assume even 1 out of 50 species would look exactly us from the top lip down lol.let alone all 50 species in starwars

5:10 Wyyrlok's lineage was given the Sith tattoos. Those were not natural. In the original EU, Darth Maul's tattoos were explained the same way, and the Legacy comics show nearly all of the lords of Krayt's One Sith Empire bearing these tattoos. His daughter, Saarai (meaning "truth" in Sith) was meant to become Darth Wyyrlok IV and receive the same tattoos. But indeed, Wyyrlok would have originally had blue skin, as did Wyyrlok I and II (the former of which could very well have been Mas Amedda).
